I’m so disappointed in this place. My uncle took me here to see the mariachi for an upcoming wedding and I could not be more upset about the service and food. Our server was so rude from start to finish. Rolling her eyes, talking to me like I’m an idiot. I can deal with that if the foods worth it but this was the worst Mexican seafood I’ve ever had. I ordered aguachile, which I always order from other marisco places. It’s raw shrimp with lime. It tasted so rotten and smelled like it had been out for a month! My stomach turned when I tried it. So I told the server, not asking for a refund simply letting her know it was not that good and that something was wrong with the shrimp. She argued with me telling me that she told me it was raw shrimp thus that’s why it tasted that way. No. I eat raw shrimp often and it’s never tasted this way. The way she approached the situation was so rude! I couldn’t leave fast enough. Terrible experience, I’ll be at Islas down the block.

I’m a fanatic of seafood and let me tell you this is NOT the Place to go ! Honestly I would say to listen to all the other people on here ! Horrible service I clearly stated that it was our first time there and the manager I believe ! didn’t even bother to tell us what was their specialty or what did he recommend to us so anyway I totally ignored it, we ordered food and let me tel you worst food of my life lol literally never stepping foot in there again ! SAVE YOUR MONEY and just go somewhere else !!!

I’m not sure where to even begin but here it goes
A group of 12 of us came here yesterday for Mexican Mothers day which I understand would be a busy night to begin with.
We had a reservation at 7 and everything started off great. They had our table ready for us once we got there but it took forever for them to take our orders. We asked if they could split the check which apparently is something this place doesnt do. Once our drinks finally arrived the waitress spilled the drinks on my sister-​in-​laws back which she was lucky she did not spill the drinks on my 7 month old niece that was right next to her. Everything seemed to go down hill from here. Shortly after we noticed that my aunts piña colada had a hair in it.
The waitress finally took our food order and the food came in a timely matter and like others reviews noted the shrimp tasted like it was pre-​cooked or something because when my shrimp came (I had the surf and turf w/​arrachera and shrimp in lobo sauce) the sauce was warm but shrimp was cold but at this point I was hungry and just did not want to wait for them to bring a new batch out which despite this I was satisfied with my meal, a little overpriced for what you get by the way. My mom ordered the huachinango and it’s supposed to come with shrimp on top and my mom told the manager and he was very snotty and said «it only comes with three». Last time I checked a manager is supposed to be polite but the manager was nothing but a headache the entire night, which I might add he was playing the slot machines for the majority of the night. He brought the shrimp out but was not polite at all about bringing it, he seemed annoyed.
We were still trying to enjoy the night despite the bad customer service so we decided to ask for some more drinks and our waitress could not get our drink order correct and we had to ask her a few times for our drinks that were missing from when she brought the first round out. A few of us asked for a cantarito which were about $ 8 and the waitress asked if we wanted don julio or patron and everyone chose their preferred tequila which turned out to be a disaster later on the bill.
Once we got our bill we noticed that they were charging my sister-​in-​law for a plate that she did not order, it was about a $ 10 difference from what she ordered and what she was being charged for and they gave us the hardest time about making the adjustment and once they finally agreed to make the adjustment it took them a long time to bring the adjusted check and the manager was nowhere in sight, he was avoiding being a manager at all costs at this point. We also noticed that on our bill the cantarito’s that we got were $ 15 and not $ 8 like what was on the menu and we asked our waitress why we were being charged $ 8 and not the $ 15 and she said it’s because we got don julio and patron in our cantarito’s and that the $ 8 one was the one that had house tequila. I’m sorry but when we ordered the cantarito you asked if we wanted patron or don julio and never mentioned that it would be $ 7 more if we got the patron and don julio and you never mentioned the house tequila either and they did not want to adjust it for that either and at this point it was 10 and we just did not want to deal with poor customer service here.
Point being for spending over $ 500 at this place this place we could have gotten way better food and service at other restaurants in the area. I do not recommend this place at all. Never coming back again.

My family and I came here for my birthday celebration, we ordered the meat and sea food platters. Well the food came out so fast that it made me think they just had the food sitting in their kitchen pre cooked. It just made me feel like not much thought was put into their food. Chips were stale, guacamole didn’t have much flavor, and the service sucked. You have a sixteen year old kid that doesn’t care about his job. He ended up spilling food on my brothers hat and didn’t apologize. We told one of the employees there and said he wasn’t in charge and had to ask the manager. Well she looked like she disliked her job as well so we didn’t bother. Definitely not coming back

VERY CLEAN place-​friendly staff
The place to have Huachinango (red snapper) –very well cooked and nice presentation for the price!
Ordered the chapuzon as well — it was ok! Good taste but I thought it should have been more spicy and less sweet and should include a better variety of mixed seafood. The mixed seafood consisted of shrimp, oysters and octopus; Would have liked to have some mussels, calamari and crab meat.
Michelada was good and I felt the ceviche was very tasty but too dry! Perhaps because other Unilocal reviews have complained it was to wet.

Service is not the greatest, they tend to forget about you. Shrimp tastes as if it was precooked and stored for later use. Too expensive for the quality of the food. Free parking is the best thing they have.

Came to lobo del mar on a Sunday afternoon,(4:30pm) not busy at all! We were a party of 4 and asked to be seated upstairs. They have a women singer that has a very good voice! This is my 2^nd time here and the food has been good! By 6pm or so, the mariachi came from the 2^nd floor to start playing. Mariachi is good and all the vocalist have good voices.
Our waitress was a bit slow, it looked like she had a lot of tables that were in here area. But, it wasn’t too bad. Overall, we would definitely come back!

Four of us came in on a Sunday at 7pm and we only waited about 15 minutes for a table. The service was prompt. Sea food is normally expensive, so I knew going in, it’d be pricey, however, the price does not match the quality of the food. I probably won’t return, but I do think it’s a good place to try. The drinks were good as well but they were a bit stingy with their alcohol haha. Our bill was about 150 dollars for four people.

Great food and even better service. The menu has a lot of Mariscos options and their sauce is ridiculous good. We we’re here celebrating an engagement and a birthday and the service was phenomenal I feel like I was a VIP with the consistency. Management was involved in all our requests and the attention was very good.

Delicious, will go back! Everything was good. The chips could be thinner and crispier but that is personal taste. The guacamole was not anything special but it was still good. I used a
certificate so I got my money’s worth.

We originally went on a Groupon .Two years later we have yet to find a sea food restaurant that compares .Huge portions and more than reasonable prices is why we return Staff are excellent and will always make sure your meal is what you want If not theirs always a manager roaming the restaurant to make sure your 100% satisfied. Margaritas and beers are great. Huge seating area but does get busy on the weekends Everybody likes a deal !!

This place was very pricey. The main thing I loved from here was the cucumber drink I had. The food was ok not all that great.

Really bad service. We waited outside for two hours and when we finally got a table our waiter forgot about us. We ordered crepes with ice cream for dessert and we got something that looked completely different from the menu and without the ice cream. When we asked our waiter if it came with ice cream she said it didn’t. I went to the front to get the menu and it clearly stated that it did. We asked for a manager and he said it was an old menu and the price was just for the crepes. I asked him to take it off our bill since we didn’t eat it. Not once did I get a refill on my coke either.
The music and atmosphere was good but the food and service is really overpriced for what you get. First and last time I come here.

Bad service. We sat there for 10 min without getting attended. We practically had to beg for a waiter. When he finally came he made a comment about not having our table assigned to him. … ?? So what? You’re lucky day mister! Don’t understand that kind of attitude. You’re getting paid regardless!
Ordered the lobster reina, filling was ok (salty) but lobster meat was NO GOOD! It had a rubbery texture, looked brown and it did not taste like lobster.
I most likely would not come back bc of the service. I can’t really judge the food based on one dish.

Nosotros estuvimos hay el viernes. Fuimos 10 personas asta hoy a sido mi peor experiencia de mi vida el servicio a sido el peor de todos. De todos los restaurantes que he ido asta hoy este se lleva el N#1 de mas malo. La mesera nunca regresaba le pedimos cosas nunca las trajo se le olvido mi orden me cobro cosas que jamás pedimos. Yo nunca escribo ningún mal comentario para nadie. Pero este lugar la verdad se lo merece. Para mi fue un desperdicio en mi noche. Y también soy de las personas que me gusta experimentar y por eso fui allí sabiendo todos los malos comentarios. Así que es decisión de ustedes pasar una noche pésima como la mía. Gracias.

First of all what a waste of time and money. As a business owner myself customers are always first and their visit to our establishment should always be the best ever. On ³⁄₁₅ around 7:15 p.m. we’ve so excited to try this restaurant, which also have run commercials advertising their authentic food.
Parking is horrible. On entrance my wife and I were asked for how many. Waited around 15 minutes, there was a mexican folkloric act going on. When our table was ready we waited 10 miserable minutes to be approached by waiter, only asked if we were ready to order, we did not have menus. Brought a couple at the same time some ceviche, chips and salsa. I asked to come back. Alright here is the best, the ceviche was HORRIBLE!!! fish tasted like it was in the freezer and horrible taste, we ordered:
Ceviche Mixto: Tasteless, more tomatoes than seafood.
Chapuzon: $ 20 Not enough food, tasted ok
7 Mares: $ 16 Salty, Salty, and SALTY. Sent it back to fixed it. Came back tasting the same. The funny part is all the food tasted the same like if they were made out of same suce.
Service is horrible, all of them seemed busy, running up and down but no one got served; bad organizacion. We had to waive ANY one to help us. We needed lemons water which was never brought to us.
Restrooms were dirty, and to finish all, seen how tables were mistreated and no leadership or head directing this business, their own manager was playing one of the casino machines by the bar. No I wonder this place will not make it.
Very horrible experience.

I totally enjoyed this place. We got there in good timing, around 7:30pm on a Friday night and got seated within 5 minutes. The hostesses were all very polite and friendly. Food was delish! The plates are a good size. The waitress was very attentive and very polite as well. Dessert was great! Loved their own 3 leches cake. The guacamole was a bit disappointing, no flavor at all, but this place deserves credit for great food and service!

Terrible service and terrible food. Everything was bland and the chips tasted stale. The waitress only stopped by when we waived at her and she would dissappear for long periods of time. Then there was vomit right outside the door. I ordered the shrimp Lobo de Mar and probably had like 12 shrimp in it. I would not eat here again

Not really sure why this place is getting negative reviews… My boyfriend and I drove an hour to go have dinner there, the manager Manuel waited on us from the moment we got there… He made suggestions, made sure we were happy with our drinks and meals which were authentic and delicious! I had the red snapper or huachinango frito… and my boyfriend had the seafood soup or caldo siete mares… We were both very happy with our dishes the portions are large! Manuel also gave us a flan on the house… which is also delicious! The service is great, the margaritas are delicious & the food is even better… We are definitely going back there and will recommend this place to our friends.

Estuvimos ahí octubre 11 2014… Mi experiencia fue la siguiente, para empezar los mariscos están demasiado caros. Pero eso a mi no me importa si la comida es de calidad…
Nos trajeron la comida y la comida no era de muy buen sabor. La propina es obligatoria pero el servicio de los meseros muy malo para q me atendieran tenia q andarlos buscando yo a ellos WTF… Y la música tampoco es buena. En general nada me gustó. El precio Caro. La comida no tiene muy buen sabor (mariscos). El servicio de los meseros malo. yo no regresaría a este lugar tampoco lo recomendaría a mis amigos.

I brought my mom here for dinner. Lobo de Mar serves Mexican style seafood. This restaurant serves a variety of seafood and always starts you off with ceviche.
I tried the Filete de Lobo which is made from their own specialty home made sauce. The sauce was spicy and delicious. The bed rice of rice served along side helped cool the heat of the sauce. My mom had Camarones a la Veracruzana the shrimp were covered in a red seafood sauce that was made with ketchup. I know many Mexican receives use ketchup as a sweetener but in this case the ketchup overpowered the other ingredients. I also wish their cocktail de Camarones was available in a small glass so I could enjoy it as an appetizer. Overall nice service, good food, and a solid place.

My bridal shower was hosted here! Great place ever the food was extremely good! My family & friends had nothing but good comments about lobo de mar. Beside the great food this place is very very clean great customer service! It was so great that I had to come back!!! Yes had to come back but this time @ the restaurant (1^st) fl once again great food, customer services! Entertainment was wonderful! Great for girls night out, family outings etc!
