Scrumptious! My fresh, hot berry pie was out of this world delicious! Hubby enjoyed his creamy peanut butter/chocolate pie as well. It was our first visit. It did not disappoint! A smidge pricey(two pies and a cold tea) was right at $ 10.00 but as an occasional indulgence we are fine spending that! Great location… near the Jungle Jim’s entrance.

We stopped in for coffee and fried pies on our way back home to Chicago. The coffee was… not good, and we ended up throwing one away entirely. We ordered two savory pies and two sweet pies and were told they were out of all savory pies. Well ok, then. We went for a pb chocolate cream pie and an apricot pie. We didn’t actually eat them until we got home and had relaxed, so they held up for our 4 – 5 hour trip. The pb chocolate was fantastic. The apricot, not so much. In one half of the apricot pie, I had one piece of diced apricot. If you’re going to market«fruit pie», put some real fruit in it.

I love it here! I go to the beauty school next door. I come in some mornings for a 24 oz hot chocolate freeze. The man at the counter is always friendly and remembers my order. He makes conversation and is polite. Everything is of high homemade quality, a hidden gem.

The fried pies are fantastic! Tried a few savory and a few sweet pies and they said not disappoint! If you want an old fashioned country fried pie, this is a definite must have! The crust is wonderful, flaky and tastes great! They are made fresh daily, the savory are made to order! Definitely gonna come back next time I have a hankerin for fried pie!

On the way in to a shopping trip at Jungle Jim’s(where this coffee/tea/pie shop is located with an exterior and interior entrance at JJ’s,) my husband grabbed an excellent mocha latte he loved. I kept thinking about the selection of SAVORY pies I was surprised to see on the menu, including pizza, chicken pot pie, breakfast with sausage, egg and cheese and others. I decided the chicken pot pie would be my dinner later … delicious! I was impressed instead of it being pulled from under a heat lamp, a ball of chilled dough was rolled, cut and filled with the pot pie mixture(peas, carrots, potatoes, creamy mixture, chicken,) then fried in peanut oil, resulting in a light, almost puff pastry taste. They also offer fruit, cream and sugar free pies, including some intersting flavors like pineapple, blackberry and chocolate peanut butter. Worth it for sure!

I just had my first fried pie from here today. Major disappointment. $ 3.79 for a fried cherry pie, which is my favorite flavor, but not from here. Their fried pies are filling inside a circular pie crust that is folded over and deep fried. The crust was soft, not crisp like other fried pies I have had elsewhere. There is no glaze or anything on the outside. I had a room temperature pie — you have to ask them to fry one if you want it hot — and all I could taste was deep fryer oil. It was so oily, I had to wash my hands with Dawn when I was done. Even the filling was a disappointment — a thin oozing red goo with a few cherries. Save your money and buy an Entenmann’s fried pie at the grocery. It tastes much better and costs one third the price.

Their pies are amazing! Warm and the crust is not too heavy. Can’t wait to get another one!

I ordered the cheeseburger pie to go for lunch and it was basically the most disgusting thing I’ve ever eaten. It was so salty I couldn’t eat it. The«cheeseburger» filling only resembles a burger in that it has some ground beef in it, it’s basically ground beef in a cream of something soup. I might try a fruit pie but the likelihood is pretty low after this experience. My home cooked sweet potato with nuts and cinnamon gets 5 stars.

As someone who thinks Hubigs Pies from New Orleans were a food gift from the gods, I was hopeful of finding a tasty fried pie here in Cincy. Unfortunately, these aren’t it. I thought the filling in my lemon pie was good(as did the wife with her peach pie) but it was way too much dough for the amount of filling. The crust to seal the edge was too chewy. I would like a smaller pie and crispier fry. That’s a personal preference. I would say people should give them a try and see if it’s more your taste in fried pies. It just wasnt mine.

We had fried pies this past weekend at Arbuckle for the first time. The pies were«buy one, get one ½ off», and we got combination pies(each pie contained two ingredients). We had apricot & pecan pie and lemon & cherry. The pies were very tasty, though it took forever for them to cool off. You do have to be gentle with them, as they are easy to squash, and all the filling will wind up falling out and into the package if not handled gently. We were given sporks with which to eat them, though you can eat them with your hands if careful.(Noticed the sporks in the bag after the fact). I also got a cup of the butter coffee, and it was excellent, though a bit over priced $ 4/cup. The café has a lovely fireplace and beautiful décor, including the wallpaper, with old fashioned memorabilia printed on it. I’m giving the place four stars, as I think both the pies and the coffee are overpriced, but good. And the café has a nice ambiance and great décor. Pretty fast, pleasant service.

Stopped by after shopping this evening, and we were pleasantly surprised! The food was delicious, I had the tex mex pie, and my kids had the chicken and broccoli, and we will DEFINITELY be back! Also, the guys who were working provided us with excellent customer service, the location was very clean, and our food and drinks were prepared right in front of us.

I absolutely love this place. It’s something new and different. My favorite is the pb and chocolate pie. their coffee drinks are good as well. And don forget their breakfast pies. Those are great as well.

I found this place on Unilocal, bookmarked it, and today my pregnant self craved Apple pie, sooo… I walked right in and ordered the apple pie without looking at the rest, but next time I will peruse the menu a bit more. Delicious, fast, convenient, and most importantly, mama’s craving was satisfied.

Stop in and have a hot«turnover» before you start shopping at Jungle Jim’s. Or take it with you and eat in the store. Excellent crust. I like them best hot from the store, but you can get them to go.

I stopped here for lunch after exploring Jungle Jim’s. There are 2 entrances, one from the sidewalk out front, and the other from Jungle Jim’s entrance. My wife was craving pie so we got a pot pie and a peach pie and split them both. 1 pie is definitely enough for 1 person, and they were very inexpensive at around $ 3.50/pie. Way better than a Big Mac. The pies were good. There was more dough than filling in the pot pie, but the ratio in the peach was much better. I have no problems with fried dough though. They were very tasty and we’d definitely stop here again. There is a seating area with 5 or 6 small tables and chairs next to a fireplace. It’s a nice stop on a cold day like today.

Fresh ingredients. Fresh crust. Deep fried in peanut oil. Any questions? Didn’t think so. AWESOME! I just wish there were one closer to home!

The handheld fried pies are very good! There is a wide variety of flavors to choose from including fruit pies(cherry, apple, blackberry, etc.), cream pies(coconut, lemon, chocolate, etc.), and the best, PECAN pie! A nice surprise is the fact they offer 6 varieties of no sugar added fruit pies. They also offer seasonal flavors as well. If you prefer, they have a few savory pies(chicken pot pie, Tex-Mex, cheeseburger, and breakfast). In addition to the turnover-like pies, Arbuckle Mountain has an espresso machine that cranks out very good coffee drinks that rival the better-known S.B. chain. There is a nice indoor seating area with a fireplace as well as outside seating when the weather is good. And if you came to shop at Jungle Jim’s International Market, you can grab a cup of coffee and a handheld pie at their walkup window just inside the store entrance. I cannot think of a better way to go grocery shopping! I will definitely be making Arbuckle Mountain Fried Pies one of my regular haunts.
