Best damn family Chilli parlor in Cincinnati! Use to be in Roselawn many moons ago, but has since relocated in St. Bernard. If it taste different at times, it’s due to different cooks which is normal but the Chilli is still the same and the service is still great! Love this place growing up, love this place now!

Not impressed with portion sizes in «to go» orders. $ 5 for a three way that was half the portion I would get if I ate in. Taste of chili was great. Just disappointed in size.

The burger and fries I had was decent but nothing to write home about. My family members chili spaghetti looked gross and they say it wasn’t that good not compared to other more popular chili places.

Chili Time what has happened?!? I came to this place quite often with my dad as a kid usually in lieu of hitting Skyline or Gold Star. I remember loving their burgers and coneys. My fb and I were looking to grab some lunch and I was tired of frequenting the same places so I suggested Chili Time. We started with chili cheese fries and I ordered the Big Time burger and my bf ordered the Time Burger platter. He I got fries and chili for me to have as a side. Let me start with the chili since it’s part of this place’s name. It was not good. Had absolutely no flavor, tasted almost watered down and it was certainly not how I remembered it. Needless to say my cup of chili was disappointing. I took one bite of my burger and immediately could taste that something on it was not fresh and tasted like it was going bad. It was most likely to mayo or veggies. I ended up sending that back. My bf’s burger was ok but definitely not worth the money. I hate to give such a bad review to a place I once loved. Maybe the breakfast items are better though my fellow Unilocalers don’t seem to think so either. Sad to say I probably won’t be back… ever.

If Chili time is memorable, it’s only for how bad it is. The ambience is right out of the Seventy’s and the food? … You get better chili out of a can. Food is just awful. In a word, Avoid.

For years we got their chili and sandwiches. Sandwiches went downhill, but we still got the chili. Then we had breakfast at Chili Time. It took 25 minutes for them to scramble an egg, cook 1 slice of french toast and 2 slices of bacon. The egg was burnt. The french toast was meh. The bacon was done to the point where my teeth were in danger of breaking. Definitely NOT one of their better moments. I took solace in the fact that the other 10 people in the place weren’t getting their food either. Watresses — good; Cook — not so much. Oh! And this lovely meal cost me $ 6.25 before coffee. My husband’s 1 egg and toast came to $ 3. Coffee was $ 1/cup. If we wanted milk instead of creamers, it was an up charge. Don’t think I’ll do breakfast there again. It used to be packed at 11AM. I know they are working on the street, but I expected more. Another thing. When we arrived a woman was waiting on the bench for her order. Her order came a few minutes after we got ours. I think I’ll stick with Camp Washington Chili.

Best chili parlor/diner in the city!!! I always have a hard time deciding what to get when we go here for a meal. They do great breakfasts all day and their double decker sandwiches are enormous, but the chili is the best in the city and I usually get a cheese coney appetizer before I eat my meal.

Chili time is great at about 2am after a night at the bar. It’s a little pricey for what it is but its not crazy expensive. Chili cheese fries and a goetta cheese coney(not on the menu) are my «go to» late night eats. They have good breakfast(similar to Waffle House) and the double deckers for lunch are solid as well.

This place serves a great 5 course breakfast. I moved here in October this was the first place I went to for a good breakfast. It might take a little time for the food to get to you but when it does it is well worth the wait. And the waitress was great. When I eat in a good restaurant the wait staff knows it I am one to leave a great tip. I would recommend anyone to go there an just eat a meal you will not be unsatisfied…

I love this place! It’s not fancy but the food is tasty and cheap. They have the best onion rings in Cincinnati, wonderful homemade vegetable soup, and they’re open super late which suits my night owl tendencies.

If you hadn’t seen the sign and the color scheme you would not be able to discern this from a Skyline. Chili goodies come with diner prices. Cheap individual items, but up-charges for EVERYTHING. Want some crackers with your coneys? That’ll be 30 cents extra. Chili was your typical Cincy fair. I was on the toilet all afternoon.

I’ve reviewed this place once, shortly after they switched their staff up. Things slowly got back to decent and my wife and I started enjoying going there again. Then we had to take a break from going there, and just the other night tried to go back for the first time in a while. There were two tables with customers when we got there, one waitress and two cooks. We sat down and one of the cooks came to get our drink order. He came back to ask if we were ready to order and my wife wasn’t, so he said he would come back, which he did a few minutes later, but she still wasn’t ready. Then, they forgot about us. While my wife was looking at the menu, a bunch of people showed up and almost filled the place. They got so busy they forgot we were there. After my wife was ready to order, we sat there waiting, and waiting, and waiting. I had finished my drink and needed a refill, but nobody came back to us. So we got up and left. We had Rally’s instead. Rally’s is not a good substitute for goetta and hash browns. Get it together Chili Time.

What’s not to like? The food he is good. And I mean you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu from the breakfast to dinner, the chili is great too! If your in the area looking for a late night spot, or out early looking to get some breakfast, this is the spot I would go to!

To fully understand Cincinnati, you must first understand it’s local Chili Parlors. After conquering Camp Washington, Price Hill and Blue Ash, next up was St. Bernard’s Chili Time. The wood paneled interior, lunch counter and minimal frills décor instantly let you know this has been around for a while. Service was painfully average but nothing insulting. The Chili here is by far the least memorable of all the Parlors I’ve tried. Not even a hint of cinnamon that we natives have grown to expect. It was just a very beefy meat flavor that came off as rather bland to me. The coneys where the strong point here, giant by Skyline standards, and a meal all by themselves.

There are good things and not so good things about Chili Time. Goods: Open until 4am, breakfast served all day, good diner feel, Tabasco option. Not so goods: ironically, I didn’t like the chili. It was just really greasy, and didn’t seem to have much(any?) of the«Cincinnati» spices. It looks the part, but mine was just too greasy and watery to score very high. I’m sure I just pissed some Chili Time loyalist off, but what can I say. Looks like a good diner, and open late is good, but I can’t suggest the chili in good conscience.

As someone that grew up in Florida, I was always curious to try the Cincinnati chili that my Cincy native fiancé’ so fondly tlaked about. He grew up as a CT regular, often eating it multiple times a week. I’m not gonna even front — this shiz is addictive. As someone that prides themself on being a healthy eater — I can’t resist getting a cheese coney AND cheese fries. Another great thing about chili time — they are open 22 hours out of the day. Do you know what is even better than having a drunken night with friends and family? Having a drunken night with friends and family followed by greasy chili cheese fries. Just do it… you won’t be sad ya did.

Let’s get one thing straight: this is not a substitute for Skyline. This is a diner that happens to sell Cincinnati Chili. They also sell omelets and cheeseburgers(all day… until something like 2 in the morning). I got a cup of Chili and it hit the spot! I found my cheesburger to be comically thin. I think it would take a scientist to make flatter patties! Even so, it was exactly what I was expecting at such a dive! Eating here is like stepping back in time. It’s great people-watching because it seems like everyone in the establishment has been there since 1985. Actually, our waitress told us that she had been working there since she was a teenager. I highly recommend trying this place out if you’re cheap, hungry, and want to take a true bite out of Cincinnati.

I don’t think I’ve ever been here sober. And I’m beginning to think that sobriety just maybe isn’t Chili Time’s thing. Which works, because it’s not mine either(I’m only kind of kidding). This restaurant reminds me of The Chili Company that my uncle used to own in Oakley: super outdated, orange and brown décor, and servers that seem like they’ve been there for decades and have learned to hate their lives a little bit more each day. Though, I suppose the late-night servers have simply learned to deal with the shenanigans that ensue post-2am, because they all seem relatively attuned to them. But that doesn’t make this place any less desirable, as there have been a number of times I’ve been out with friends and we’ve wound up elbows deep in cheese fries by the time the night ends. I can’t tell you how perfect this greasy spoon gem is to top off the end of any night of boozing and tomfoolery. The fare is above average diner food: the cheeseburgers and cheese fries are great. Though, the grilled cheese was surprisingly sub par, so I will stick with the former from here on out.

I’m really not sure there is any reason to go to St. Bernard than Chili Time(and if you can think of one — please let me know). It’s actually rather depressing driving through this Cincinnati neighborhood. You pass by high schools and garage stations and run-down old businesses and bank after bank after bank. It feels like the part of town you went to high school in and then ran from as soon as you could(or stayed and grew up there and had kids there who go to the same high school you did and play for the same high school football team you did and live, breathe and eat all the same stuff you did — St. Bernard born and raised). Still, there, up on your left, a fading orange sign with a cartoon clock that proudly exclaims, «Chili Time! «It certainly was. I walked in with two things on my mind: a pair of cheesy conveys with all the trimmings to go. Unlike other more fast-foodesq chili parlors, they still want you to take a seat at the counter, even if you’re ordering. I did and took a minute to look over the menu. I was actually surprised about how many options they had — sandwiches and lunch foods and all kinds of things you wouldn’t think a chili place to contain. Neat. The spot felt like a greasy spoon diner, actually. Long counter for ordering and some tables lining the rear where waitress will come over and chat you up. I saw families and guys off of work and teenage girls hanging out — basically this is where St. Bernard goes to get its food. I was actually a little concerned they might all simultaneously look over at me with hate in their eyes and exclaim, «We don’t like outsiders here … we don’t like outsiders at all!» and then get up from their booths at once and that would be the last time anyone sees or hears from Alex — but it turned out ok. I ordered my coneys and they came out semi-quick. Not already prepared and ready to go Skyline quick, but quick. I grabbed my bag and thanked them and left. But when I got home — disappointment. Maybe I’d been to Skyline too many times, but when I take a to-go bag, I’m used to there being oyster crackers and hot sauce already in there. With Chili Time — there was neither! Did I really need to ask for it, guys? Can’t we just assume everyone who wants your chili wants oyster crackers and hot sauce too? Still, one bite into the coney and I almost forgot those troubles. It was amazing. Think and flavorful with tons of cheesy dripped over each. Mmm. It’s not my favorite coney in Cincinnati(that belongs to Camp Washington), but it comes damn close. Next time though — oyster crackers and hot sauce, guys. Please! For the love of it all!
