Save your money or go somewhere else! Worst nail salon ever! I’ve been here 2 times, once about 7 years ago and once last Wednesday. I paid for a shellac manicure(which started chipping 2 days later). The girl that gave me the manicure didn’t push back my cuticles. She answered the phone about 5 times. She got up and walked away about 4 times. Today, I have 3 chipped nails, 2 nails with peeling shellac. From Tuesday to now, I’ve had to be extremely careful with my hands, I’ve painted top coat over my nails daily since the WORST manicure from Modern Nails.

WORST nail salon I’ve ever been to. Went in to get one acrylic nail fixed and was told I’d be charged $ 3, which turned out to be $ 6. Asked for one of my nails to be painted a different color to match my other hand since they did not have the same color as my original nails, and just painted over the color. Also did not match the size of my other nails and did not clean under my nail very well after I asked her to. She left nail polish on my skin as well. HORRIBLE.

Worst mani pedi experience ever! The pedicurist hurt my toe and thought I was over-reacting. She also spoke to her colleague who was doing my mother’s toes and kept looking around. I was clearly not an important enough customer to her. The color used on my mother was almost empty and when she asked for a new color the pedicurist started to apply the new color over the old! I won’t be returning to Modern Nails nor will my mother!

Never ever again will I go here. Way overpriced and not very good. Definite lack of communication. I wish I looked at Unilocal first.

I can’t tell enough what a waste of time and money it was to go here. First off, the woman who was doing my nails had a huge wart on the index finger of the hand she used to hold my hand while I got a manicure. It should go without saying, but it is a very common thing to receive small cuts during the process of a manicure and it would be very easy for her to pass such a thing to any customer she works on. I can’t imagine why she wouldn’t wear some kind of surgical gloves to do this work when she has a wart on her fingers. Beyond the health concern, my nails were painted in a very rushed and slapdash manner, even though there were no customers waiting and several employees sitting doing nothing. The top coat she put on clearly had some black polish on the brush from the previous user, so she put a huge streak of black down the middle of my pink nail and didn’t seem to think it needed to be redone. As if all that wasn’t enough, I think the polishes they use must be very cheap. My nails are already chipped, less than 24 hours later. Normally a manicure lasts nearly 5 days on my hands. She was polite and friendly, but I definitely won’t be back.

I came in with dry cracked heels and left with dry cracked heels and manicure not worth the money. Spent $ 54 on a mani/pedi. I was quoted $ 45 when I walked in. The tech recommended the $ 39 pedicure due to my cracked heels but I still left with dry cracked heels. They don’t do a good job. Manicure is not the best either, second coat of nail polish stops right before the cuticle, very noticeable. Do not recommend this place.

Sien is the best here! Love her, she has literally become like family. The prices are a bit high but when you get quality you can’t complain. The ambiance is nice and clean as well. Please whatever you do don’t piss off the owner Tina, it won’t end well for you! Lol! She is really nice but doesn’t play about her business. The best place to park is on the pottery barn/macys womens shoe side — you can walk right in! Might also be a good idea to make an appointment they can get a bit crowded since they are located in the mall.

I need to learn my lesson and avoid this place. I requested a mani and pedi. They pestered me about getting shellac even though I politely turned them down three times. My mani dried with horrible bumpy spots. The customer service is horrible.

I recently came into the nail salon, looking forward to my pedicure … I’m always watching for customer service and satisfaction. I suffer from extremely dry and cracked heels, and need a pedicure often to get the dead skin off. My nail technician literally scrub BOTH of my feet for less than a minute. Highly unsatisfied. That’s the best part …

Absolute terrible! I got a shellac manicure… worst mani ever! Had to go back the next day to get it redone. After two days, the polish peeled off.

Quite possibly the worst service I have EVER gotten in my 16 years of getting acrylic nails. The host tried to get me get a pedi saying the wait would be a long while, I asked how long– so I could come back. Then another woman said no I just had to wait 5 minutes if I didn’t want a pedicure. The nail tech(older woman with short hair) was my person, I told her a fill-in and to fix one nail. I was on the phone(which is outof the norm for me) I apologized saying it was an important call– and she kept interrupting me asking if I was Vietbamese, if I was in school– and then talking to her co workers. Not concentrating on my nails. My nails came out uneven and looking like my 8 year old niece painted them– thick and uneven. She then kept asking me only at the end after I paid– if I was«happy» I said it will do. But no. I prefer my nails short to medium length with a square tip– she rounded the edges(after I pointed out they were all unevenly cut down). In which she«shushed» me while I was stressing my concern. I only went here because it was a holiday and the place I wanted to go to was closed. NEVERAGAIN. I do not recommend this place ever. Even if you’re in a bind. Update, it is 3 days later, the acrylic is lifting from the corners due to not enough product and improper filing for the corners.

Wow… and not in a good way. I am very particular about my nails and pedicures and needless to say I am very pissed about my gel polish. The lady did not understand at all what I was wanting when I told her. I’m fit to tired because I live a substantial distance away and I really need to go back because my polish is peeling and it hasn’t even been an hour! Now there are two young ladies in there that I have no issues with doing my nails but I promise I NEVER allow anyone else in there even touch my nails IMPISSED!!!

Got a pedicure here for $ 32(tax included). It was ok… Not spectacular, and for $ 32. I expected better. The massage chairs are HORRIBLE! Like the previous person said, they hurt more than bring relief. I had to place a pillow on my back and turn off the machine. They have roughly 20 pedicure chairs. They did use razors for a pedicure if requested. I prefer the grater thing. My nails were clipped with the cuticle cutter instead of nail clippers. I asked for the nail clippers instead and she said the cuticle cutter was sharper and ignored my request. Now my nails are slightly lopsided… Meh… Don’t think I will come here again. It’s located in the mall near macys. The other salon in the mall is owned by the same company.

My pedicure was great; can’t fault it(other than the massage chair was one of those ones that beats you up rather than just vibrates) but my manicure was well awful. She spent over 45 minutes on my feet but maybe only 10 on my hands. The shape of nails is uneven and jaggy and I was very disappointed to come away with two coats of polish I could see through and bits of polish dried on my skin. For $ 45 I’d expect more to be honest. Get a pedicure but skip the manicure.

This place is hit-or-miss, depending on who is doing your nails. I’ve had two people here who did a great job; however this most recent time, the woman did a shoddy job. It’s been 3 days and my nails are already peeling(I get the shellac). I give this place bonus points for their cute mini-pedicure chairs they have for little girls, my daughter absolutely loves getting pedicures here. However, the place itself isn’t the cleanest, there are visible water stains on a few walls and tons of crap shoved out of the way and under tables, chairs etc. The cleanliness is why I’m giving 2 stars instead of 3, but let’s be honest, I’ll probably still be there next week.

This place is good for pedicures — they still use razors on your heels. The manicures are another story. The last time I went there I got a gel manicure & the woman did not know what she was doing. She took forever & the polish around the cuticles was a mess.

Having just moved to Cincinnati I have been looking for a new salon in order to get my weekly manicure. This is not it. The most time spent on my manicure was by the manicurist trying to up-sell me to everything she could think of. No time was spent on my cuticles, little time spent on the filing and forget about a decent hand massage. I was in and out in approximately 15 minutes. Would NOT recommend…
