Finally had the chance to visit Revolution this past weekend. My experience was great! The food was delicious – I tried the Thomas Jefferson Chita(chicken pita sandwich) and was not disappointed in the least. I also had a side of mac and cheese which was divine. They had a nice draft selection and the rest of the menu was very enticing. There were even brunch selections since it was Saturday, and bottomless mimosas. No complaints whatsoever about the service, as both bartenders went above and beyond to make sure we were educated about the menu and satisfied with everything we ordered. I am looking forward to going back and exploring a little more of the menu.

I feel like this is one of the better kept secrets in OTR. Located on Race in a space that’s turned over a bit(Enzos, Vietnamese). My experience here was fantastic-great food, good service, and great atmosphere. The chicken pitas are great and the tater tot poutine! yum! I always enjoyed their pitas at Findlay Market and am happy to see an expanded menu, casual atmosphere and a full bar. Definitely on my list of OTR faves!

If you’re looking for comfort food, this should be your next stop! My friends and I stopped here for dinner the other night and really enjoyed it! I was surprised by how much variety they had(for being mainly chicken). They’ve got quarter chicken, chicken pitas, salads, and a variety of side items. I ordered the potato bowl(see photo), which comes with two heaping scoops of mashed potatoes, chicken, gravy, cheese, and creamed corn(I think it was an extra $ 2). I would highly recommend it to anyone who is as indecisive as me and wants to literally try a bite of everything on the menu. They’ve got a full bar and happy hour specials that end at 6pm. My friend ordered the sangria, made with their own pineapple infused vodka. It was very good! Surprisingly, none of us ordered the chicken pitas. I have heard great things about it and that’s next on my list to try! As for the environment, it’s pretty spacious(for being in OTR) but the seating is slightly limited. The staff was very kind and I loved that you could watch the kitchen prepare your meals. I guess the reason that I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I didn’t see the«wow!» factor here. It’s good food, don’t get me wrong!

This place is great! I’ve been here a number of times and I’m happy every time I go there. This bar isn’t on the main strip, so it’s not as crowded — definite benefit. There still may be a small wait, but not crazy. By 9PM, it’s really chill, which makes it perfect to get a late night drink. The food is great! I recommend getting a pita — so good. The Ben Franklin and the Thomas Jefferson are both great choices. Also, you should order some tots, but you get a lot of them, so go with a friend to share. Staff is great, the bar tender we ordered from was really helpful wth drink selections.

I split a half chicken with my guest and we ordered a couple sides. It was my first time there so I didn’t really know what I was getting into. Our server did a fine job explaining the various sauces and I ended up ordering three of them to try out. The lightning, freedom, and(just to be safe) honey bbq. All of them were incredible, as was the chicken, which would have been just fine without any sauce at all! It also happened to be half-price wine night so we got a bottle of some white, again at the suggestion of our server. He really knew his stuff. All around, we just had a good time. I’ll be back for sure.

My friends and I came here for dinner and waited 2 hours to be seated. While waiting we ordered some appetizers and drinks. The pita appetizer was amazingly and surprisingly good we ate that in less than 5 minutes. After waiting for 2 hours we finally got a table. By this time it was about 9 pm. Some things we wanted to order they had ran out. Like the mash potatoes and Mac and cheese. We ended up getting other things like the corn and green beans instead. Honestly the chicken was mediocre. It didnt hit the spot for me. The portion was a little bit smaller than what I expected. Not sure if it was because it was closer to closing time and they just had the scrappy pieces left. The service was great, the atmosphere was awesome. The appetizers was delicious. The main meal didn’t meet my expectations. I think that there is other restaurants in the area that out beat them in the chicken department.

The wings were really good, I was really impressed with how juicy they were. There are tons of different sauce options, which is pretty cool as well. I also ordered the side salads and wasn’t impressed with them at all. I ordered the MLK and it was really small(even for a side salad) and no flavor. The table next to us ordered the Pitas and those looked amazing. Service was ok and it’s pretty small inside.

I sincerely enjoy the food here. The pita sandwiches are a standout for me. At $ 9, they make a nice«lunch» level amount of food. Add a side and it gets closer to a «dinner» level. Atmosphere is solid and it sees a crowd but isn’t as wall-to-wall filled as it sits a block or two off OTR’s main drag. Great for a week day lunch especially if you are hanging out in Washington Park. Staff are always solid. Pleasurable meal suitable for a business lunch or casual date.

The kiddos and I came here for Sunday brunch. The food was fantastic. It’s just great comfort food. Kelly was so sweet. She had several tables and I don’t think we waited for anything. Great food, great service, and an overall good time.

If you have ever been put in charge of making a dinner reservation for a large party the day after Christmas and you pulled it off without some sort of melt down, you are nothing short of a hero. I was given such a task with the following elements: a vegetarian, one gluten free person, a baby, and 12 adults. Did I mention that it was the day after Christmas and I was not in my hometown? I immediately took to Unilocal and started a short list. After several phone calls, it became apparent that we would either be eating after 8:30(Don’t forget there was a baby in our party) or I was gonna have to roll my sleeves up and try harder. Somehow or another, my filtered search turned up Revolution. I made a phone call expecting to be shut down and was so surprised by the service that met me on the other end of the line. She was patient with each of my requests and was eager to find a way to make it work. She put me on hold and consulted with her manager. When she came back she told me that it wouldn’t be a problem to seat us at 6:30. Lucky for us, the restaurant is just off of Vine Street making it enough off of the OTR beaten path. Also, lucky for us, was the horrendous rain that night. It made parking a breeze. We actually nabbed a spot directly in front of the restaurant itself. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly hospitable. Large parties can be a royal pain in the ass, but they never winced once. I can’t say enough good about the service at this place. Absolutely everyone that we can in contact with was friendly and on their game. The food reviews seemed to range from excellent to meh. I personally ordered one of «Chitas».(Basically a giant taco on pita bread.) It was tasty, but nothing that I’d rave about. I also tasted the macaroni and cheese, which was disappointingly dry and bland. I snagged a bite of someone’s chicken pot pie and thought it was fine. It was basically a giant bowl with layered chicken, green beans, carrots, and gravy. it was topped, awkwardly with a couple of biscuits that seemed out of place. The chicken tasted good, but was rather cold. The carrots tasted like the kind you’d find at a japanese habachi restaurant and the green beans were flavorless. That’s just my take. Everyone at the table seemed to really enjoy their meals, including the vegetarian and gluten free noms. The long and short of it is this: The food was pretty good and this place made me a hero for finding someone accommodating and I got bonus points for finding a downtown spot without having any parking issues. Verdict: win-win!

We had 5 different items on the menu, from the Tater Tot Poutine(worth the trip alone) to the Hancock, Mandela, Curie and the Biscuits and Gravy. Here’s a collection of quotes from our lunch: «It all starts with the pita.» «Yum!» “This is delicious” «It’s so good I don’t even known what to say» «I want a refill of my Pita» «I could eat here everyday» This is simple, no frills delicious stop. Simple menu. High quality. Worth a stop if your in the area, or maybe even a trip to the area if you’re not.

Revolution is enough off the oft-beaten Vine Street path to be a little more laid back and less crazy, and offers up a great atmosphere and great food. I’ll preface this review by saying I’m a vegetarian, so fellow veggies, don’t be turned off by the fact that the rotisserie chicken is the feature! Our options are plenty delicious as well!(Though my more carnivorous-inclined friends have also attested to the rotisserie chicken being great.) They have a great drink selection. Rotating local craft beers on draft, red and white wine sangrias, cocktails, etc. I had an espresso stout last time I was there, which might be the pinnacle of beermaking in my book. Just stop now, beer nirvana has been reached. The«chitas»(get it? chicken pitas? right?) are what I’ve always gravitated to, and chicken can be exchanged for black beans or corn salsa or hummus. The Nelson Mandela is my go to. And, of course, with a side of tots. The wait can be lengthy, but like a lot of the other restaurants in the area, they’ll take your number and call when your table is ready so you can wander to a bar or through the park while waiting.

Pretty decent place. Got the dish everyone recommended on Unilocal(Ben Franklin) and it didn’t disappoint. In terms of flavors it reminded me of some specialty sushi(in terms of flavor not fish). Service was good and décor nice. We stopped in on our drive back to NYC, and it ended up being a good choice.

Despite being really only chicken, this place offers one of the more diverse menus in OTR in terms of flavor. If you stick with the middle of the menu, its very much southern comfort food(the creamed corn was delicious and tasted the way you hope a thanksgiving side dish would). But the Chitas(chicken pitas) on the right side of the menu range from mexican to greek. The pitas are huge and don’t require a side– I had mine served on greens and it was still a big portion with more chicken and toppings than a normal salad would have(with no dressing needed). I ordered the Ben Franklin, which has asian flavors and a «lightning sauce» that had a spicy kick to it. I dined here for lunch and they were quick to seat and serve us. I had expected a order at the counter and sit type place, but its a seated dining experience. The waiters were quick to suggest menu items and differentiate the different pitas when asked.

Revolution Rotisserie has a cool restaurant concept and pretty good food! Their menu features items named after«revolutionary» historical figures, like the Joan of Arc salad or the Abe Lincoln chicken pita. The space is nice, they have ESPN playing above the bar, and they’re located right by Washington Park! My boyfriend and I took my little brother here recently and the three of us split a half chicken and some sides.(We weren’t super hungry so I would recommend ordering more for a party of three.) The chicken was tasty and you get your choice of up to 3 sauces — we got the lightning, BBQ, and the chimichurri. BBQ was good, I didn’t like the chimichurri at all, but the spicy lightning sauce is great. We tried the creamed corn and the mac n cheese for our sides. Definitely liked the creamed corn best out of the two, yummy stuff! Try it with some lightning sauce on top! The mac n cheese is very cheesy and decadent but I got tired of the richness after a few bites. I ordered a bloody mary to go with my meal since it was Saturday afternoon, and I have to say it was really watery. Maybe my ice melted too quickly? Also, I love poutine — I’ve visited Montréal multiple times and when I’m there I always eat multiple servings of poutine a day. But last time I had it, I thought Revolution’s tater tot poutine was too salty. It didn’t prevent me from eating it but I honestly wouldn’t order it again, to avoid the high blood pressure. I’ve also tried their«chitas»(chicken pita sandwiches) and enjoyed them — they give you plenty of food. All in all, not my favorite place to eat in OTR but the ambiance is nice, service is friendly, and the chicken is good.

This is a really laid back restaurant downtown that specializes in chicken. The poutine is simple but really great. The wife and I argued over whether the cocktail was weak or strong but we both liked the flavor. I enjoyed the Marie Curie although I would probably order something different next time as it’s a flavor combination you can get a couple other places. My wife enjoyed her pita sandwich thing too. The service was great and we really liked the atmosphere. My wife particularly liked the music. I don’t believe they have desserts on the menu but THEYDOHAVEDESSERT. The waitress brought up dessert after it was far too late for us. I’m looking forward to returning and trying those desserts out.

Cool place for Sunday Brunch! I tried out this place on a Sunday morning with friends. They open at 11a on Sundays, which I think is kind of late for brunch, besides that I really enjoyed this place. The food was okay but it honestly wasn’t my favorite thing there. I had the tater tot poutine which was good but not sensational. What I really like about brunch was the bottomless mimosas! For $ 15(each person) you’ll get unlimited pitchers of mimosas. That’s is really a pretty sweet deal! Another thing I really loved about the brunch was the music. On Sundays, they play a 90’s throwback list which was amazing and really made for a fun kick-back type of atmosphere. Lastly, I must mention the extremely friendly and attentive waitstaff. Everyone there was super pleasant and seemed to really enjoy there job. Two thumbs up for Revolution and their Sunday brunch!

Good food, great ambiance and reasonably priced. If not for our terrible server, I would give a four star. The tater poutine and mash potato bowl was on point. The Ben Franklin was an explosion of flavors. The Thomas Jefferson was not very good. Dry and flavorless compared to the ben Franklin. Now onto our server that ruined our first time here. His name was Jacob I believe. He was extremely pushy. My friend and I were both waiting for our significant others to arrive to order and we told him that. After we ordered our drinks, he asked us TWICE if we were ready to order even though we literally just told him we were waiting for two more people. As soon as they arrived, he came and asked if we were ready to order. Dude, they just sat down and didn’t even looked at their menus yet; back off! To top it off, he automatically assumed that the two Asian people were together when check time came even though we sat diagonally from each other and my gf(who is black) was sitting right next to me. He asked if my gf was by herself(my friend Zach was in the bathroom so there were only 3 of us at the table) smh. Not sure if his name is Jacob but I remember his face and will not be served by him if I return.
