Great quality! Really enjoyed stopping in there on the way through town … I would highly recommend the Brooklyn Original!

The closest thing you will find to a New York City deli. The food is excellent and they offer the freshest meets you will find anywhere. The price is a little steep for what you get but not enough to keep you from coming back. Highly recommend the freshly made desserts.

Very nice deli, the meat is flavored deliciously. Circleville’s finest sandwich shop!

Best place in town to eat… ‘The hot one’ is a great sandwich, but can you really do deli meat, cheese, and bread wrong? Slightly overpriced in my opinion for a sandwich in Circleville, but tastes good either way. Service can be slow during lunch rush or in bigger groups(3+).

Richie’s a great place to eat. You can’t go wrong with boars head meats. Staff made us feel welcome. I had a meat ball sub, the sauce was a sweet not to sweet tomato sauce, with a mozzarella cheese. On a toasted bread. Delicious! My husband had a Turkey sub it looked good. It’s a nice change when you want to go out to eat in the around town.

High end sandwich shop. Great service. Great food. This deli is located in downtown Circleville and is a must visit. They offer Boardhead meats and cheese. You can also get a freshly made cannoli.

Had a piece of their pumpkin cake(gluten free) this week. It was FANTASTIC! And I am picky. Sandwiches were great. Potato salad and cole slaw were tasty too. A great place to eat if you are gluten intolerant!

Stopped by today for lunch. I had the meatball sandwich and some tasty chips. Really great sandwich. Nice sauce, bread and cheese ratio. Richie even gave me a free cannoli when he noticed I was a new customer. Only one suggestion: consider taking to customers money at the point of sale instead of waiting until after I eat. I was thinking about paying my bill while I ate. We all have been conditioned to pay when we order. Just get it out of the way.

Best food in town by a landslide! True asset to the community. Richie is a terrific guy, works his tail off, and is a terrific cook. To the reviewer or two that mentioned Richie is I’ll-tempered, they simt don’t know Richie. I’ve ordered Richie’s 1−3x/week the last 3 years I’ve lived here, and every time in he has been friendly and engaging in conversation. His wife Mindy does the baking from my understanding. They have a ton of terrific gluten-free items for those with Celiac Dz. I particularly love the meatball and turkey melt subs. Richie has fresh lettuce and tomatoes DAILY. The desserts, canolis, and Jeni’s selections are the cherry on the top. My wife loves all subs, but especially prefers the various salads that Richie makes — mixed olive salad being her favorite. Keep up the great work, Richie!

Richie’s deli is a top favorite for my friends and family. It’s a little gem hidden inside a bright red building. You get a feeling as soon as you walk inside like you’re in a real new York deli. Especially when you’re greeted by the owner himself with a booming new York accent. The staff are beyond polite and courteous to each customer. I love how well they get along among themselves behind the counter too. The food is the absolute best sandwiches you can get in circleville both in taste and nutritional value. And for those who love buying local, Richie buys all of his products locally including Jenny’s ice cream and patty cake bakery. For vegetarians, vegans, and gluten free folks, this is the only place in circleville you are offered several choices based on your diet restrictions. You might come in a customer, but you will most definitely leave as a friend. Anybody who’s been to Richie’s doesn’t know him as «the owner» we know him as Richie. And that’s the kind of atmosphere you can’t get in most places. It may be a little bit more expensive than a subway or burger king but it’s worth every cent to me to support a local business and to keep the greasy food out of my stomach.

AWSOMEAWSOMEAWSOME! If you are looking for small town and AMAZING, this is the place. I’ve had several of their sandwiches as well as their salads … FANTASTIC! Service, friendly and like you are visiting your neighbor. Definitely has the small town atmosphere! LEAVEROOMFORDESERT! We stopped in during the Circleville Pumpkin Show and had the Pumpkin Cake — I hope it’s on the menu year round because it’s so good you’ll want to buy a whole cake! One of the only places we eat in this fair city!

Been there 3 times now and am not impressed. Skippy portions of grocery store cold cuts, heated up in a microwave. No deli sandwich presses here. Meat and cheese selection is very small for a «deli». And yes, the guy does have some ‘tude. There’s just not much flavor or taste. And I don’t know who fills out the business information portion, but it’s just wrong on a few fronts; this place is NOT good for kids. The dinning area is small with just 4 small tables almost sitting on top of each other. They cram in 4 chairs at each table, but if 4 people are dining together, there is NO room for all your meals. Same reason its not good for groups, unless your group is 4 or less. And the noise level is high. With everything crammed on top of each other, and the guys loud voice, you can hear every table and person in the whole restaurant. Two stars is accurate, I’ve experienced better, and anybody who thinks this is a 5 star deli, has never been to a REAL deli.

Just got a nasty Unilocal message from the owner, Richie, making up lies and insulting me. Hes hot tempered and rude… VERY unprofessional… down to one star. Update: Im glad Richie posted his message to me. It clearly shows his excuse after excuse after excuse. He also lied when he says I «demanded» a place to sit… I did NO such thing. I politely asked when I was ordering if there were any other seating, thats all. And when he served my sandwich, I politely stated we wanted to dine in… I never demanded anything… Richie is a liar. He further lied when he said I made customers uncomfortable… another lie. The group was finished eating and happily said«Hey, here, you can take our table, we are done!» The were very accommodating about it, and very nice, and I thanked them. Richie lied again when he said this group took their food with them… not true, they were completely finished. And I was never rude to anyone, another lie. And notice he made no mention of the screaming match he had, INFRONTOF A CHILDANDCUSTOMERS! Richie is from Brookland, and has the attitude as well. He is ill-tempered and hot-headed. Instead of taking criticism to better his business, this is what he resorts to… lies, excuses, and attacking paying customers. Its actually a shame.

Delicious!!! Best deli in Ohio! Richie made us feel welcome, gave us free cannoli while we waited and had us pay when we were done! We ended up buying an entire gluten-free cake that our friends will love!!! As an added bonus, the special was sausage and peppers. The Chicago in me says, «thank you»! Will stop every time we pass through on 23!

Good surprise in a small town. My family was passing through Circleville on our way from Hocking Hills, and were looking for a place for lunch. A little skeptical about a New York deli in a small town, but the reviews were good. We stopped in and were not disappointed. Their sandwiches were great, they had good craft sodas, and the owner was friendly, funny and put the«New York» in the deli. The place is well decorated, clean, and inviting. I would definitely recommend it

We were driving through Circleville from a Mountain Bike Trip and wanted lunch and found Richie’s on Unilocal. We are both gluten free, didn’t see many details mentioning it other than desserts in the reviews about gluten free options but were hoping to find something here we could eat. What a great surprise, they have wonderful gluten free options including deserts. They can make their sandwiches with gluten free bread and the Boar’s Head meats/cheese/condiments they use are made gluten free as well. The gluten free bread is very good. The staff was VERY helpful and gave us great recommendations. They made us the Brooklyn Classic on gluten free bread(picture uploaded) and I can honestly say, it was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had the pleasure to eat. The gluten free brownies were fantastic as well. We will definitely be back, even if it’s a dedicated drive on a slow day, just to get a NY-style GF Sandwich. Don’t miss out on this place.

This is a jewel in a quiet little town. Richie’s brings a true New York flavor to town. Walk in the door and expect a yelled greeting from Richie and staff. If they know your name so will everyone else in the joint as well. Real warm feel Not only are the sandwiches legendary there is a wide variety of sweet selections to choose from as well. Let’s start with sandwiches shall we; My favorite(favorites are always temporary as each sandwich is a work of art and delicious in it’s own right so in this situation is is completely acceptable to cheat on your favorite sandwich from time to time) is the Brooklyn Classic followed closely by the Reuben and the Meatball. From time to time Richie gets ambitious and will make sausage and peppers. He puts it up on his Facebook page when he does and you better shift it into overdrive and get there before they’re gone. It’s worth the stop. He also has a soup daily throughout the winter. And it should not go without mention that he uses Boar’s Head meats which are scrumptious as all get out. You can buy meats by the pound as well. I like to get the hot dogs for grilling myself. If you fancy something you can’t find locally I’m sure Richie can get it for you. Gluten Free! Yes he has a nice selection of gluten free desserts. There is this cake carrot cake that’s gluten free that is to die for! I am trying to convince him to just sell the icing and a spoon but haven’t succeeded yet. You can definitely satisfy your sweet tooth here. He even has Jeni’s ice cream by the pint! Last but not least I can thank Richie’s New York Corner Deli for fueling my addiction to Q soda and tonic as well as Zapp’s potato chips! Yes he has Zapp’s flavors are random based on how many flavor crazed addicts have ravaged the shelf so get there fast and get your fix. Last word is make sure if you’re anywhere in the area or even just want a drive from Columbus to have a awesome lunch in a fun atmosphere this is the place to do it. You will leave satisfied or Richie will send someone to bust your knee caps! Did I mention he is a real live New Yorker?

This is the town’s raved about establishments. I can now see why. The sandwiches are simply amazing! I got the $ 7 Brooklyn Classic, which is the specialty sub. It had Genoa salami, pepperoni, fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers, oil & vinegar. Everything tasted really fresh and delectable. The other options on the menu are equally prepared to perfection. I got the canoli for free, on par with NYC’s Little Italy. Richie is such a friendly guy with a classic Brooklyn accent. You can check out a preview of him visiting NBC4. He also sells Jeni’s Ice Cream and NY style cheesecake. One of the ice cream favors was goat cheese and red cherries :)
