We have been dining at the Silver Dragon for several years and NEVER a complaint. This is a hole in the wall place that will surprise you. The servers are amazing and super friendly. The food is so good you won’t need soy sauce to Doctor it up. The crab meat ragoons are addictive and the walnut shrimp is to die for. This is by far the best Chinese place in Sacramento. Plan on waiting for a table especially on the weekend. Well worth the wait.

My family loves this place, we get ours to go because they’re usually busy. Good pork fried rice and sweet and sour chicken. The restaurant area is clean and well-maintained, and the servers are always nice. Prices are good, my family of 5 eats well for about $ 35

Much better than I anticipated from the outside. Portions were HUGE and a great value for the price. I was impressed with the very fresh vegetables and friendly service.

Fantastic Chinese and the service is excellent. Just had walnut prawns for lunch and am pleasantly stuffed! My Mom had the Szechuan chicken and has a very large to go for later. Inexpensive too. 3 meals as I got a to go for my girlfriend of vegetable deluxe. $ 21.05 out the door!!! A steal! I read one review that said the service was rude and they waited, must have been a different place!!! LOL

We didn’t eat in the restaurant, just got take out from this place. Pretty good! Larger portions, not too oily, fast and fresh. Price was reasonable. We enjoyed it!

This is my go to Chinese food destination. Everything here is good. I’ve ordered many different things from the menu and haven’t been diappointed yet. The cream cheese ragoons are my favorite. Great atmosphere and staff. Would recomend.

Located near riteaid, this place is pretty good and reasonably priced. The staff is friendly and the food is fresh. We got the silver dragon dinner for 10.75 each person. It came with rice, wonton soup, two egg rolls, fried wontons, and two wrapped chicken. We choose the shrimp with vegetables and broccoli chicken. The amount of food was enough for more than two people. We went home with leftovers. We will be back!

Oh good lord. I got a $ 70 take out and tipped $ 20, I was feeling generous. Little did I know what the food had tasted like. I kid you not I threw it all away and my company was left hungry. Soggy soggy soggy mushy mushy bland as could be… EVERYTHING. Just imagine a mouthful of soggy, flavorless over cooked noodles. Never again will I be eating here. My poor friends!

I have been coming here since 2001. Super nice staff, great food, great prices. Nothing super fancy, but clean, tasty, and friendly. That’s all I need. Out of all the Chinese Restaurant choices here in Sacramento, I always choose Silver Dragon. Try their Vegetarian Dishes. Great selection, and well made! In all the years coming here, I have never had a bad lunch or dinner.

* I have never been treated with so much disrespect when dining. Almost immediately after being seated, we were asked what we wanted to order. We needed a little more time to look over the menu as we just sat down. The person taking our order would return every minute being pushy asking what we wanted. * The food was disappointing. It left me unsatisfied after Ieaving. I felt a little uneasy eating it from the vibes she was sending me after bringing me my plate. * When asking for a togo box, she threw it on our table. We felt disrespected because she was boxing and bagging the plates of other tables and made it clear she had no intention of fulfilling the customer service role her sole job was to do. * The food was mediocre. The service was inexcusable. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone. There are a lot of surrounding restaurants that won’t waste your money, energy, and time that offer so much more quality.

Good, low key place to take the family. Terrific service, very attentive staff and friendly. The food was good, the vegetables fresh, the rice steaming hot! A pleasant surprise, much nicer than expected from the exterior. A nice atmosphere, with a hot cup of tea!

Not too shabby! The inside of the place could use a little«spiffing» up, looks like the walls haven’t been cleaned or repainted in 15 years… The service was great and prompt! We got the potstickers which were okay, but a little doughy and really thick on the outside. The veggie chow mein was a large portion with a scattering of carrots, broccoli, snap peas, and mushrooms. Not a ton fo flavor, but I appreciate that it wasn’t greasy! The mu shu beef was very good and came with 6 of the wraps. Very flavorful and the plum sauce? it came with was tasty. I would come back here and try some different dishes, they were busy for a Thursday night both in the dining room and to-go counter, so I bet they have some«favorite» dishes that others order. I will ask next time. Affordable and large portions which make for great leftovers!

I have been coming here for over 15 years and I just cant find anything that compares! Their lunch special is amazing; you get soup, egg roll, rice or chow mein, and a main dish for about $ 6 – 7. Hands down its the best hot and sour soup I’ve ever had, although I have a friend that swears by their wonton soup. I never really stray from their generals chicken, its not the standard spicey but you can easily heat it up by adding a bit of the table spices! I cant vouch for everything on the menu but my friends love the kung-pow chicken and I enjoy their vegetable fried rice too! Yes its a hole in the wall but who cares if their food is delicious and the staff is friendly. Keep in mind this is American Chinese :)

Here for a quick lunch. Nothing special just a basic old school Chinese restaurant. Tried the Pot stickers and the General’s Chicken; very tasty. Food excellent, relatively clean, and very helpful and attentive staff. Plenty of parking in a large shared lot. This is a do again when in the area. Thank you Silver Dragon.

Spent a good 30 minutes trying to find a nice new place that i hadnt been to in the area and found this place with pretty good review. So of course i had to try it for myself. Glad to say theyre food is really good and speedy too, i ordered the lunch special with orange chicken and pork fried rice. The orange chicken was good, the sauce was awesome. However the rice had some flavor to it but nothing really to complain about. My bf ordered the sesame chicken which was amazing! With chicken chowmein which to me was a little oniony but flavor was good. Overall ill more than likely return for more in the future.

Been coming here since the 90’s! My family love it! Recently got War WonTon soup which I recommend to everyone and there were some ‘too’ chewy pieces of ‘beef’? in there, but that’s the first complaint i’ve had about the war wonton soup there! POSITIVES: I used to get the kung pao chicken but got annoyed by the huge pieces of green pepper in it that now i get the ‘general chicken’. my family recommends the sweet & sour chicken, broccoli chicken, cashew chicken but especially the generals chicken & the War Wonton soup. I’ve always found the waitresses to be helpful & attentive. Some waitresses are more ‘warm’ than others– this could be because of the language barrier and their uncertainty withe english? Just guessing & basing this on one warm waitress that speaks better english than the others. If you’re nice to them, they are nicer back! Their take-out process is great — they are very fast even when they’re busy! NEGATIVES: The location is run-down and it has a smell in there. The cooks smoke outside and sometimes you have to walk thru the smoke. I DO wonder about the cleanliness in the kitchen because of the run-down– ness of the restaurant and the unkempt ‘look’ of the cooks smoking outside. This is not the best chinese food place in town, in my opinion. My fave is a chinese restaurant on sutter street in folsom.

If this is the«best Chinese food in the area» I’m not eating Chinese food in the area anymore. I normally am not steered wrong by Unilocal reviews, but perhaps Chinese food is so bad in the Sacramento area, people think this is great. No joke, Panda Express is better. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken w/white rice and the beef chow mein. I despise salt, and I only cook WITH it, never add it afterward, but I had to salt this food because it was so far from flavorful. Sweet and sour chicken had zero flavor whatsoever. The texture was alright, but it literally tasted like nothing. The white rice was dry and just generally not good. The beef chow mein was the same – no flavor. The beef was a pale brownish, just didn’t even look appetizing. Drive: 12 minutes to/from, which means I definitely won’t be making the drive to eat this food again. It’s a shame, because I had such high-hopes.

I regularly come here and enjoy their great food. I like the service and the prices. The fact they’re close by is convenient. They’re busy sometimes… they’re popular. It’s a great place to go at all times, especially off hours if you want a chill lunch and just to hang out.

This was my first time here with my grandmother she loves the place I however did not really find it appealing but the service was very nice and the employees were very friendly. I give this place four stars because of all of the clutter at the front door when people want to pay or come in and get to go orders or even waiting to be seated. It should be more organized or at least have two separate counters for takeout and to pay your bill.
