Carne Asada rice and beans hit the spot for this early dinner. Wife enjoyed fish soup and it was delicious! We will be back. Hopefully famlies with loud screaming children will not be in attendance

Such good Mexican food! And they have really good margaritas too, but be careful. They are stronger than they taste(which is one of the marks of a good margarita). I had the enchiladas and hubby had the fish. Both were melt in your mouth delicious!

I really liked the first time i came here, what i also liked alot was that the drinks are made right in front of very unique and authentic. The dish that i would recommend is the chef special simply because the combo of chicken, shrimp, and crab meat is just genius. Plus the rice really adds balance.

Lived in this area for years and finally dined here for dinner. Didn’t seem like your average«cafeteria» Mexican food. Free Chips and salsa were soooo good. Warm crispy chips & salsa that was not too chunky not too watery. Spice level was about a 7. Prices were cheaper than I expected. Wasn’t crowded when we were there but took some time for wait staff to refill drinks.

Came stumbling in looking for some refuge from the flu with a hot tea and walked into what I felt was one of those Mexican restaurants I grew up during the 80s. I was greeted by a pleasant older gentleman who said they had no tea, and walked out rather disappointed, but realized a good ol caldo would be just what my mother would’ve given me. So I went back in and ordered a bowl of albondigas to go for the long road home. I opened my soup container while on the 60 and immediately my car was filled with a sense of nostalgia from the delicious aroma of this yummy caldo. My albondigas were delicious and the flavor so authentic I realized I’d found a gem! Can’t wait to go back and try the rest of their food!

Had the enchiladas suizas and they were pretty tasty. Love their horchata as well. Will definitely be back to try some of the other menu options. Glad we stopped by.

Another great place I almost passed by. I’ve passed this for years, and finally decided to give it a shot. This place is authentic Mexican all the way. Great Margaritas, enchiladas, and other antojitos. Classic service and an earthy ambiance that makes it feel like someone’s grandmother is in back doing the cooking. Can’t wait to go back.

I was a little hesitant to try this restaurant. Why? Well, when I called on a Saturday evening to find out the closing hour, I was told they’d be closing about an hour earlier than their scheduled time, «because it’s kind of slow tonight». This is one of my pet peeves with a business. Suppose someone drove a long distance to dine there, only to find they’d closed early because it was slow! I feel it shows a lack of consideration for the patrons. But, after eating here, I decided it was doubtful that anyone would drive a long way for a meal at Amor Indio. I tried to keep an open mind during my first visit. When we walked in, we realized that he woman on the phone wasn’t kidding! There was one couple just finishing up their dinner as we walked in. Otherwise, the restaurant was empty, except for the staff. And, there was well over an hour to go before the«earlier» We were greeted warmly by a white haired gentlemen. He seated us, and our waiter arrived quickly to begin serving us. He brought us a basket of chips and a bowl of salsa, which were delicious! Unfortunately, this was the only food item I enjoyed. I ordered crab enchiladas, which came with refried beans and rice, all on one plate. I had inadvertently left my eyeglasses at home, and I found myself asking my date which food I was eating. The food was so bland, everything tasted the same! I did come across some fresh, sliced avocado on the plate. That was sublime. Unfortunately, it was gone way too soon. My taste buds were so bored by this plate, that I didn’t finish the meal. The waiter didn’t even ask if I wanted to take it home. To be honest, I didn’t anyway. The boyfriend ate all of his beef tacos, but I noticed he left the rice and beans on his plate. He didn’t say it was bad, but he’s usually a member of the«clean plate club». I was still hungry, so after eating more chips and salsa, I decided to try their flan for dessert. My dining companion said he does not love flan, so we asked if there were any other desserts available. I would have been willing to split some homemade churros or fried ice cream with him. But, nope. So, I ordered the flan just for myself. Now, I’m here to tell you, I’ve had flan all over the place, and I usually love it. Yipes! This was scary! It looked it came from a can, and actually had the consistency of a canned peach. Slimy. The taste was not good enough to overcome the consistency, either. One positive note: if you like a strong margarita, you’ll probably enjoy the one they serve here. It was so strong for my taste, that I had to keep adding ice and waiting for the ice to dissolve so the drink was more diluted. Once I was nearly finished eating, I was able to drink the cocktail. My search continues for a decent Mexican restaurant in the Industry/Whittier/Hacienda Heights area. Amor Indio was not it. I’m open to suggestions!

Immediately when you enter this place, it’s like entering a dark narrow hallway, but then it turns into this large spacious restaurant. Odd — but it works for them! I came here with a party of 6 around noon on a weekday and we were seated right away, even though the place was pretty busy. Their chicken enchiladas were great– large portions, served with rice and beans. Their chips and salsa were definitely really addicting as well. Their service was so-so. We waited a while for our order to be taken, our bill to be brought, etc. Although it took a while, the food definitely made up for it.

Burrito loco(asada only) … one of the best burritos I’ve tried. Big chunks of asada meat, cheese, sauce. Don’t remember what else the burritos had since I just noticed I hadn’t finished my review, so I don’t remember anything negative about this place. If ur picky and attentive to detail, u might notice the place needs a little remodeling but besides that, I plan on going to this restaurant in the future.

Loving Burrito Loco, a burrito which is explosive, like Ricky Martin’s rocket to fame back in 1999. Amor Indio is a nice place which is frequented by a variety of people, including many business people wanting some Mexican food. The food is a particular style which caters to those who love crunchy tacos, big greasy burritos, excellent lard-fried chips and a variety of seafood. Certainly, for its genre, a 4 star easily. Not in the same genre of Juan’s Restaurante, La Indiana or La Poblana, but very good. The dim lighting and shade is great for quiet getaway lunches and drinking alchohol(though I do not drink). The parking lot fills up during lunch. The waiters were attentive and quick during our lunch today. One of our party had the Seafood Enchilada, which is quite unique, not made in my Family. The Shrimp with Garlic is a very popular dish in many regions, this one was well liked by our party. My first time trying the Burrito Loco; Chili Verde Pork and Chili Colorado Beef mixed with Shredded Beef and topped with a gentle red sauce, jack and cheddar cheese on a slightly grilled tortilla, lettuce, sour cream on the side. If you are a foodie you will finish it, if you are on a diet, you will finish half, maybe. Tortilla had enough crisp, beef had enough sauce to embellish it, gread blend of beans, lettuce and sauce. There may be other options in the area specific to a region in Mexico, but Amor Indio is still on my list of places for a huge greasy burrito and crunch chips. Song parody of Ricky Martin’s 1999 song«Livin’ La Vida Loca» Burrito is so vicious A size I can’t recall Mexican ambition This meal will make you full Huge beef, for your sensation One sauce to blend it right Big, thick, beefy addiction That you can take all night You’re diet you will blow off Foodie dancing into Spain Will stuff you really well But you will enjoy all the pain Like a big Mexican Train Come on!
