Average quality, expensive when comparing to the size. The food is not bad, but the portion is small. I ordered a large size noodle, but it looks like«standard» size compare to other Vietnamese restaurant. The price on the menu is not expensive, but it is expensive when you compare the size of the food. Taste is good, but there are many Vietnamese restaurant around the area have the same or better quality and«cheaper» price.

Ordered a large phở with rare steak. Broth was quite good, very flavorful. Meat was overcooked and had zero pink when it came out. Noodles on the other hand were woefully undercooked and hard to eat. Plenty of better places around so I can see why the place was empty on a weekend night.

Crap… I really should’ve checked Unilocal before we went into the restaurant Since my wife and I were in a rush and not picky, we went here for a quick lunch. Not to be mean, but seriously this was the worst phở I’ve ever had… I got the«large» phở tai and the broth was bland, the meat was tough, and the portion size was small(which I guess wasn’t so bad considering the food wasn’t very good). Only pros: the décor is relatively nice and the waitress was friendly plus their bathroom was clean Sorry, I wouldn’t come here again

The mother used to take us here all the time before I went off to college, so I haven’t been back since high school, and much has changed. The most noticeable being the furniture. I remember Phở 99 as a hole-in-the-wall, with really tacky sets of dining tables that I have come to expect in all decent Asian food joints in the 626 area. Last night, I was greeted by a running stone waterfall. The tables and chairs were neutral toned, which made the restaurant look more chic, brighter, and cleaner. It was a nice change. My standards for phở has also raised exponentially since the last time I stepped foot in this restaurant at least 6 years ago. The phở tasted decent, and comes in only one size: Large. Fair prices, and a phở place that accepts cards is always a plus. A slightly lower rating for a spot that held many fond phở memories because a confrontation arose while Chris K. and I were eating. A guest and the waiter became hostile with one another at a table across the room, and I felt my safety was compromised at that point… The last thing I wanted was a shoot-out while I was enjoying my phở… call me crazy, but yes, that thought popped into my head. Otherwise, the waiter was nice enough, and filled our water cups at least 3 times, so we were not completely neglected. Although this phở place will not be on the top of our list every time we are craving phở, I am still down to come back.

worst phở establishment in a 10 mile radius. when the phở came, i breathed in the naturally tantalizing smell of phở. and i had great expectations, but when i tasted it, the flavor was so mild! i really dont think these guys know what theyr doing. the vegetarian phở had only tofu and broccoli. and it was more expensive than having it with meat. lame and illogical. the crowd was largely non asian. this place must be a convenience spot for the unrefined taste. with having all that said, the server, who seemed to be working alone(crazy!), was a very hard worker and the ambience of the place was clean and chill. i’d only return here if i lived a block over and my car broke down. sorry phở 99

This place isn’t the best. But, it’s not that crowded, and the service is fast. It’s a quick bite to eat and you can get in and out in less than 30 minutes. One thing, I wished that they had warmed my noodles a bit more. Some of them stuck together. I also wish their fried rice wasn’t as greasy. In any case, it was all good eats. I wouldn’t mind going back. However, there is a Phở Ha across the street. I want to try that one next time.

Spring Roll — the white noodle inside was so dry, it was from yesterday left over for sure! BBQ Pork Rice — pork was way too salty to eat Beef Stew with Rice — beef(tasted like left over from other customers and re-cook) Ice Coffee — too much cream The service was okay right when we stepped in, but after we ordered our food, their attitude changed all of a sudden. From«okay» to «hurry up pay and leave»

I’ve been coming here for ages. The place used to be quite good for the price, but since the renovation, I’m not entirely sure anymore. I usually come for the fried rice(oddly enough), but it’s simple and good. That’s my go-to dish here and I have no problems recommending it if I’m in the area.

This is not the place to go for some good phở. The regular bowl and the large bowl felt about the same. Also, the meat was still red when I got my phở. Some people can handle that, some people don’t care. but not me. If it’s not STEAK, then it better not be red!!! And as for the service, the lady is rude. The worst things that a family restaurant can have are cockroaches and shitty customer service. The ambience and the décor is cool but doesn’t match with the service. 98% chance that I’m never coming here again

Not good. Strike 1: Dirty table. The server quickly wiped the table before seating us but it was still rather dirty. My mom even said something and we’re used to going to «C» places! Strike 2&3: Waitress: Can I take your order? Me: Yes I… Waitress(to the next table): It’s a noodle. You want noodle right? (Waitress walks to their table and then comes back) Waitress: Can I take your order? Me: I’d like this phở. Waitress(to the next table): Do you want to change your order? I need to let the kitchen know now. Waitress(to me): Be right back. (Waitress walks to their table, to the kitchen, and then comes back) Waitress: Can I take your order? Me: I want the phở and this pork bun and the pork sausage spring roll. Waitress: It’s not a spring roll. It’s pork, no shrimp. Me: Yes, it’s like a spring roll but no shrimp right? Waitress: It’s not a spring roll, it’s pork. Me: I want this one. Thanks. Note: Please take care of one table before you take care of the next table. I don’t mind waiting for you to take my order but I do mind that you treat me with rudeness. Strike 3&4: The pork sausage spring roll is just like a spring roll but instead of shrimp, it should have pork sausage. The spring rolls come last after the phở and the bun. It is not pork sausage but a slice of pork. What? Strike 5: The prices are comparable to nearby phở places but the portions are small! It probably had one piece of tendon, one piece of tripe, one piece of flank and maybe a couple pieces of rare steak. Instead of regular and large, they should call it small and regular. For the bun, I got a handful of vermicelli. Nothing tasted very good. No flavor at all. I can’t say I would want to eat any of this again. Don’t even bother with this place. I came here because I saw a line for Phở Ha but I completely regret the decision. Go to Phở Ha or Phở Rowland, anywhere but here!

This place has been open for quite some time now. i think this place could be a lot better. the broth had a lot of fat still in it, the meat that came in my phở was not that good and very scare. i think i had about 4 slices of beef! what a big let down. monday nite and this place was empty! i think everyone went across the street to phở ha, which i think is a lot better.

I came here for some beef soup. It wasn’t the best, since I’ve had better. The beef itself was too tough! It was more like boiled rawhide beef. We came here around 2pm on a weekday and it was dead as a door knob. They need to step up to the plate and get their act together – plain and simple!

Whoaaaa they totally re-did this place! Décor is so much more modern and doesn’t feel like your typical Phở restaurant. The food still tasted the same and the service was still mediocre, so I’m still giving it 3 stars… but definitely come here if you want a nice dining experience with some above average phở(for the 626 area).

Um no, I did not find hair in my phở. Wish I had read these reviews beforehand, but maybe it was better that I didn’t. Eee. We stopped by on a whim after a loooong ride back after hitting the local casinos. Anyway, I had the phở ga(chicken noodle, doesn’t beat my San Francisco Turtle Tower but decent good), my bf and mom had the rice vermicelli with grilled chicken(mmm tasty!!), and my dad had a rice dish with beef. We were all happy, full and satisfied! The service was ok, nothing to scream about in a good or bad way. Phở 99 in City of Industry was aaaaa-ok to me!

Ok let me explain a few things people… — 1 Star — Greet your guests or post a sign«please seat yourself» i’m not staring at that broken clock with the dying plants begging to watered at the front of the store, I walked to the cashier. Cashier — «you ready to pay?» Me — «*gentle laugh* no, we just got here, do we sit anywhere?» cashier — «yea yea, you sit» –1 star — Service is a big thing! Going to the customers’ tables chewing gum and indifferently saying ‘you know what you want?’ when i only had like a minute to look at the menu and rolling your eyes when i said ‘i may need a few more minutes’ … yes, i’m sorry you’re having a bad day lady but having a sour attitude won’t make the day any better for you and me. This is a short term relationship, you satisfy me, i satisfy you… –1 star — Is this a take out place or a room full of tables making me think you want to pass a restaurant? Once we ordered, we were left in the dark… nobody from the place passed by once the order arrived… i had to actually get up and request more water, which by the way… i had to go back to my table and get my empty glass per the person at the register… +2 stars Ladies and gentlemen, you want a free meal? I can almost be tempted to actually dine and dash because the lack of anyone a) being at the front and b) no service! :) The food is pretty good though… Conclusion: Hit or miss service… it depends on what time of the month you go if you know what i mean…

This is the only phở place I go to in Rowland Heights. I usually get the Phở Tai or Phở Bo Vien. If you are viet and looking for a decent phở place, this is it, it is located next to the Home Depot. Regarding to other comments on Unilocal,I have not once found hair in my food from the countless times I’ve been there. The service isn’t great, not out of the ordinary, but last time I check when do Viet restaurants have GREAT service? For those who didn’t order Phở at Phở 99 and didn’t like their order, again, what do you expect? It is like me going to a taco place and complain about the fried chicken.

Ya i found hair in my food too! I love the phở style of noodles but this place is really disgusting. After finding curly hair in my bowl on two separate occasions i won’t go back. Go to the one on Gale next to the HomeDepot in Industry instead.

You have GOTSTOLOVEME, that is, if you have me as your friend on Unilocal and/or you are one of my fans, and/or if you know me in real life… ANYPLACETHATHASHAIRINFOOD = 1 star… WHYWHYWHY am I THEONLYONEWHOFINDSHAIRINMYFOOD or WHATNOT? Peek foto AGAIN, I was faced with freakin hair in my food. I’m going to blame this place on my friend, A, because, she, UNFORTUNATELY(jk) had a MAJORHANGOVER from the night before, so we came here to soothe her tummy… O MAIFWEEKINGAWD… and this was AFTER I finished my phở tai. Seriously, who finds HAIR in PHO. I swear, the soup was dark and msg-y, and for me to find hair in my food??? You know what’s even funnier? I told one of the guys and he just looked at me with a blank stare on his face… I was just so speechless… He looked at it, and just walked away as if nothing happened… What the heck? THEN, when we decide to pay for our food and leave, I again, told the cashier(a different guy) that there was hair in my food. Read the convo below: Me: Um, you know, there was hair in my phở. Worker: I’m sorry. Just come back next time and remind me and I will give you free food. Me: Um, I don’t know if I would really come back again, if there was hair in my food… Is it common? Do you believe me? Worker: Sometimes. Yea. I believe you. Me & my friend:(at the same time, with our jaws dropping) SOMETIMES? Me: Don’t you do anything about it? I think you should tell your cooks to put a hairnet over their hair or something. Worker: We do. Me: And there’s still hair? Worker: Yea. Me: um, okay… My friend and I walk away disgusted, and at the same time, like, «omg. wth?» But then again, he was so HONEST about having hair in the food. O MAIGOD!!! Ewwwwwwwww. I took a picture of it, it’s wrapped around the top part of my chopstick… try to look closely, if you can’t, sorry… but it was there… I guess you can’t see it, but my friend and I were like so grossed out, and funny thing is, we were both trying to figure out WHICH body part it was from, and literally doing the whole SAT process of elimination process… –not curly enough to be pubes. –not long enough to be an eyelash. –too long to be hair. –too curly to be nose hair. jeez! what could it be? any hair experts out there? Eeek. I’m going to cry if there’s hair in my food again… how do you get the joy of eating out often when all you do is find freakin strands of hair in your food?
