I’ve seen Dr. Wong since I was a little girl when she first opened her practice in this location. She’s seen my entire family; her knowledge and concern for our well being makes it feel that she is family as well. The only complaint I have is actually not about Dr. Wong, but the office which is in desperate need of a face lift. It’s still the same 90s décor and furniture that I remember seeing as a child. :)

Dr. Wong has been treating me and my sister for Iritis since 2005. When other doctors have no clue on what we have she was the only doctor who diagnosed us on the spot. She takes her time to listen to my symptoms and never fail to make me laugh when I feel sick. She cares about her patients and is passionate about what she does. I’m sure there are more patient like me out there that feel the same way about Dr. Wong. She simply doesn’t need these reviews to be in business. Just visit her office and you will know why. Sincerely, Amy

Dr. Wong is one of the most well rounded ophthalmologists you will ever meet. She understands that the health of your eyes is very related to the health of your whole body. If she gives you suggestions that may not directly pertain to the health of eye, do not underestimate its importance because it is all related. In response to Amy’s review, we do have hidden childhood epidemics on our hands now. Almost one of two American children have either eczema, allergies, asthma, ADHD and/or autism. So I believe Dr. Wong was on the right track to see if her son’s eye infection could be related to a food allergy. 90% of food allergies takes hours, and up to 2 days to come about, so they are very hard to pinpoint and doctors only test for classic allergies which have an immediate reaction. One of the reasons for the 400% increase in allergies for children in past twenty years, is the heavy use and improper administration of vaccinations. A lot of heavy metals have been used as preservatives, and instead of separating the doses of vaccinations they combine them in order to save time and money. This has lead to the damage of many children’s nervous system, immune system and digestive system — which explains for one the increase in childhood food allergies.

I put my 16 month old son’s eyes into the wrong hands. We visited Dr. Wong four times for his red eyes. She said his eyes were infected so she prescribed antibiotic and steroid eye drops and to use it 2 times a day for 1 to 2 weeks. She saw that my son has a rash on his eyebrows so she said its eczema and he is allergic to some kind of food, and she goes on asking what I feed him and if he ate any peanuts, any farmed fish and so on… She said the rash and his eye allergy is related and its part of the whole system. Every time when we visited her(I mean EVERYTIME) she would talk about food allergies and about eating organic. My husband and I in our minds felt that she should not be talking about our son’s rash since she is not a Dermatologist. I told her that I had already made an appointment to see a Dermatologist in a couple of days. From the 2nd visit on she kept saying that there is a possibility that my son has VKC(Vernal Keratoconjunctivitis). She said she has treated 3 young boys that has VKC and one of the patient comes all the way from Torrance just to see her and the patients parents are doctors with blah blah… Degree and that they have already seen 15 doctors and the parents somehow found her. She made it sound like she is the only doctor that can treat VKC. And she mentioned another one of the patient has HMO that would pay her rather than the Children’s Hospital to treat the boy. So on the final 4th visit(it has been 2 weeks after the 1st visit) my son still has white dots under his lower eye lids and no more red. She said he has allergy not infection and we had to figure out what he is allergic to. So my husband and I in our mind was wondering if the doctor made a wrong judgment in the first place that it was an infection but rather it should be just an allergy. I felt very heartbreaking for giving my son the antibiotic and steroid drops. Then she insisted that there is a high possibility that he has VKC. She said that we can try Cromolyn Sodium Eye Drops which she said it is safe, but for it to be effective you have to continuously use it for 1 to 2 months. So my husband asks what are the side effects and she said patients tell her that it stings the eye every time they get the drops. During this visit, she gave me a hopelessly and a worried feeling. My husband told me not to believe her, she just made it sound so serious which is not. So next day we took our son to see another ophthalmology. She said my son definitely does not have VKC and he does not have a major problem. She mentions that she has patients with VKC and the condition is a lot worst. The white dots are just allergy. So she just gave me samples of an allergy eye drops. She agreed to use artificial tears for a good rinse to his eyes. I felt relieved. My husband and I regret that we should have gotten a second opinion before using the antibiotic and steroid on our son’s eyes and we definitely do not recommend this ophthalmologist.
