Reddz Bistro & Grill Restaurant

I went to reddz last night for a late dinner, or so I thought. Waited two hours for our food because everyone (including the owner) was too busy twerking and doing other dances with the customer. I wouldn’t have been bothered by the ratchet atmosphere if our food had come out on time. On top of that the waitress had to make my drink twice, since the first time she screwed it because she was so distracted by the music. Long story short, the manager paid for our drinks because she didn’t realize we hadn’t received our food. I decided to give it 3 starts because the honey garlic wings were so good, and the manager Red, was sweet. I would definitely suggest that they work on better customer service, and try to be a bit more professional!

My wife and I were out for a lunch date this past Saturday, and were in the mood for some fried fish sandwiches. We tried a place up the block found to our dismay that it was closed on a Saturday afternoon. Reddz was the next closest seafood spot to us; we had never heard of it but we thought we would give it a try. I must say that we were extremely pleasantly surprised.
The waitress greeted us as soon as we entered the door and was extremely friendly. This was despite the fact that she was the only one working and quite a few people were sitting inside. She came over to us quickly ad took our drink order drinks: I had a long island iced tea, my wife ordered an ultimate margarita. The drinks were on point and delicious. The wait time was a bit long however I felt like it gave us time to enjoy our drinks and work up an appetite. Furthermore, once the food arrived, the wait was more than worth it: the sea food was fresh and it was cooked to order. My wife ordered catfish and grits and I ordered the seafood basket with shrimp and tilapia. The fish and shrimp were piping hot and seemed like they had just come out of the fryer before they had plated it. My wife’s only complaint was that the grits were not cheese grits but she is from the South so cheese grits are what she always expects if grits are listed on the menu LOL.
Overall it was a very good experience. I would advise that it is not the type of spot that you go to if you want to quick bite to eat since the food did take awhile. However if you’re enjoying a relaxing, leisurely meal, this is absolutely the place to visit.

I came here on a Friday night at 8, which was my first mistake. It was super packed due to the place being so small. There was no parking. The waitress didn’t acknowledge me until I came up to her. The people there were ratchet as well. I never got any food because everything else was going so badly

This was my second time going to this place. The wait was horrible and to make it worst I wasn’t the only one. I waited 45mins for an appetizer to still it not get it … Guest walked in and got their food in 15 minutes. The manager was nice but the waiter was very inexperience I ask her to call the manager 3 times she would call her so I had to get up and call her myself. I did get my food I just left hungry an hour later smh the manager just told me the two beers we had was in the house.

Food and drinks are great but the service is very unprofessional. This past Saturday was my third time going there and it was my worst and last visit there. It started right at the moment my girlfriends and I walked in the door and the entire place turned around and was staring at us as if we were aliens or something. The one waitress they have was busy so we stood there for a few before someone decides to clean off the vacant table that was covered with dirty dishes. Finally sat down with our menus after about 5 mins of waiting for this cleaned table and no one ever came to back to us. I would say we were there for a total of 15 mins and my patience wore out. The waitress passed us a few times to attend to guest who already had their food but did not say a word to us. My first and second visit was mediocre due to the fact I sat at the bar and it seems the waitress pays more attention to customers at the bar. But once I’m turned off, there’s no going back.

I love everything about it… The food is excellent. I give it a 12. I’m trying to go as much as I can. lol

I went to an event for NJ Black Businesses, and they were serving curry chicken in a little cup. I keep asking who made this because it was so good. Of course I thought that they were Jamaican, because the taste was so authentic. The two chefs told me that they had a restaurant in Orange NJ, called Reddz.
I knew I had to go visit the restaurant, because the appetizers and horderves that they served were delicious.
So far I have ordered a few dished that were good. The honey glazed grilled salmon with spinach and mash potatoes, is my favorite.
The best thing I like about this place, is that their prices are so reasonable. It range from ten, to twelve dollars for most meals. The staff is very friendly, and they play good music. I wish that they had a little lounge area.
The Cons:
1.) Their is not enough parking. You either have to park at the banks parking lot, or on the street, which could be hard to do during the hours from 11am to 6pm.
2.) They open at 10am and close at 8pm. I wish that they could open earlier for breakfast and stay open later for the late nigh munchies.
3.) Cleaniness, they could keep the place a bit more cleaner, as far as the tables and restroom. Their is only about 5 small wood table, so it shouldn’t be hard to keep clean, and smell fresh.
4.) The menu is very limited, with only a few selections to pick from.
5.) Somethings you can wait up to 20 to 30min for your food, even if you order it on the phone. You may get their and still have to wait.
Other than that, its a nice place to get great food.

First time trying an I will say the blue Long Island the bartender made was amazing an she wasn’t shy on the liquor which was a plus! Ordered the Hennessy chicken an shrimp and my friend ordered the salmon. The containers come out we see two so ok great we can leave an go home and enjoy! That’s what we thought yea didn’t happen we get all the way home and in the containers were the chicken and shrimp no salmon, we tried calling the number listed on Unilocal then a number listed on the receipt which went to a mailbox that was full! We went back to the restaurant an the waiter remembered I was there, I showed her the receipt an she agreed they messed up an had the salmon put in as a rush for the inconvenience. The wait was an extra 20 Mins but I stayed patient even though I was missing my Monday night shows. By the time I got home the chicken an shrimp was cold an it wasn’t the best maybe if it was hot it would’ve been better but watevs. I’m willing to try again but I know now to double check the food before leaving 2 containers doesn’t mean it’s all there!

Love this place! The chicken and shrimp alfredo is delicious! The plates are big. My friend and I split the meal and still had enough to take home. The wings and fries are crispy, fresh and hot. They don’t have a lot of alcohol yet but the Bartender was friendly and made the drinks to my liking. I had a Fat Hooker and a strawberry margarita. All around good experience!

Reddz Grill & Bistro I just experienced the worst customer service ever. I will never spend my money there again. Your waitress have no sense of what good customer service. I waited over 40 minutes for your slow ass waitress to forget my order twice. Comes back after the second time and say my order hasn’t even been cooked yet with no apology. I’m sorry how hard is it to place a food order. Where do your waitress get training? My food came to 40 bucks that you lost but your waitress decides to chase me to my car for a bottle of water $ 1.07 really ???

My first time ordering the food was good. The second time ugh not so much.
Not authentic food. Haven’t been there since … Would try again, maybe but I’m not in that neighborhood too much.
The food smells better than it taste. That’s the honest truth. But this was a year ago, they weren’t actually serving drinks then.

What can I say about this spot except it’s a go to. The food is delicious and the drinks are on point. The owner Redd is a sweetheart and treats everyone like family. I will definitely be back!

Everything was good. Wasn’t a long wait. The salmon is very recommendable. Service was adequate.

I placed an order for pick up and had to pay over the phone which I thought was strange. I ordered the seafood pasta which had pretty good flavor but I didn’t like the imitation crab meat or the frozen peas carrots and other veggies that were in it. We also had the fried chicken appetizer which was a 6 piece but was actually wing sections and not the whole wing. The fried lobster tail was good but the yellow rice that it’s served with was not. Overall we didn’t really love our food, but I would give it another try to see what else is on the menu.

The bowls were big and filling and they were mightily delicious. Excellent flavor. Happy that the pasta had vegetables in it. The wait staff was really nice. You The Big Redd is the house drink and it is delicious. The only downside was that they were low on the liquor that they used to make it, so we had to share, but that was okay. I was able to get a peach ciroc on the rocks.
Chicken & Shrimp Alfredo

Yellow squash, broccoli, carrot slices, large chicken chunks and nice sized shrimp.
You’re going to finish the shrimp pretty quickly, but we also are together, but there is more than enough chicken that lasted until the end of the bowl.
Seafood Ziti

Crab meat, shrimp, and lobster with ziti, green squash, broccoli and carrots. They did not spare the cheese here. This is a cheese lovers dream.
As reported by other patrons of this bistro, the parking lot is pretty small. So we had to park in the street a half a block away, no biggie, especially since the meters were covered with plastic. SCORE ONE FOR THE TEAM!
The inside was really clean and the décor was pretty simple. There are just 3 tables that seat 4 each and three tall bar tables that seat two. There’s a long bar that seats 8. It’s a bistro, so I don’t expect it to be too large, but as the business grows, they’ll need more space to accommodate a larger crowd. Most of the visitors seem to know some of the waiters and bartenders, which is cool. Very personable folks here.
So there are a few downsides, which are mostly about the size of the place, particularly the parking lot. Service was prompt and attentive and we got our food and drinks in about 15 minutes and we’re done munching in 30. We were checked on once after we got our meal which was expected. About 5 minutes after we were done eating, our waitress came and picked up our table and asked if we were ready for the bill.
The food really makes up for few downsides. I think once they get a few things buttoned up, this will be a really sought after place. I’ll be back again to try some of the head chef’s delights, but he wasn’t here today. Kudos.

The food was great! My mom and I went there today for dinner. We sat at the bar. I would definitely come back. It’s a very nice place and the waitress was very pleasant.
I can’t wait for them to serve alcohol!

My boyfriend and I visited this place for a lunch date. Once we arrived we found that the parking lot was very small, so we had to drive around the corner to find parking. Once we entered the restaurant, we saw that there were only two or three tables and bar seating. There were doors to the outside, on both sides of the room, it appears that they took over a bar and I don’t believe that they’re serving any alcoholic beverages currently.
We took a seat at one of the tables and were greeted by the waitress, who was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We looked at the menu and saw that it was quite limited, there was specialty salmon, Hennessy and Moscato marinated only, I believe. I asked the waitress if it was possible to have regular grilled salmon, she said yes and I also ordered a side of mash potatoes. My boyfriend ordered a burger and fries.
While we waited for our food, we noticed the place getting a little crowded, but most of the people didn’t seem to be there for the food. I assume that they were either local people or family members of the restaurant staff that were there to socialize. Our food finally came out, my food was all made from scratch and was delicious, but my boyfriend’s food was all frozen and he said that it was nothing to write home about. Maybe we’ll visit this place in a year or two to give the owner time to convert this bar into a sit down restaurant and expand the menu. I’d also like to see a larger parking lot because the street that they’re on is narrow and metered.

So my sister and I pulled up to this bistro and there’s a parking lot with barely six spaces. This place is fairly small so I dont see why there are two entrances. We sat the bar and it was kind of uncomfortable. The seats were too high so you couldnt sit comfortably under the bar so you had to slightly hunch over to eat your food.
The owner was there but didn’t speak, she just watched us but the waitresses were pleasant. The menu was small but had a little of everything: pasta, salads, seafood, etc. I ordered the Seafood Ziti Trio and it was creamy and full of flavor.
A small wave came through but they weren’t there for the food, I’m guessing family/​friends. I will visit again but it’ll be takeout.

My babe and I came here on a whim. We were supposed to go to Latin Grill (previously reviewed), but found the Redd’z menu in the car and decided to go for it. The parking lot is small but it was a Tuesday afternoon so that wasn’t a problem for us. We sat at the bar and ordered. I ordered lobster and shrimp Alfredo which they serve even though it isn’t on the menu. My husband had a burger, fries, and mozzarella sticks. We ordered lemonade and fruit punch. I was a little upset that the lemonade was powdered lemonade but my Alfredo was yummy. The burger and fries were good but the mozzarella sticks were a miss. I think this place just needs to continue developing and it will be just fine. I want to give this place more like 3.5 stars but since there isn’t a option for that, I will round up to 4.

bammmmmmm… amazing. .Red is here and making sure our food is amazing… don’t pass this place up.. It’s worth the trip
