I have only been here twice. Once was for my appointment with the doctor, and once was to pick up my glasses. Both times my service from the moment I walked in to the moment I left, was exceptional. The receptionist at the front was an absolutely friendly and attentive man. I watched as I sat in the waiting area how he interacted with everyone who came in the door and everyone who was leaving. He made them feel very special. In fact, I watched this woman come directly to him to let him know how much he made her day. That speaks volumes of a location. That alone would make me drive the extra it takes to get there. My doctor was really approachable, professional, and really made me feel comfortable enough to ask questions. Even as we walked out of the exam room and I asked her a few more things, she stayed very present to the conversation and I never felt rushed or unimportant. When I went to pick up my glasses, it was near the very end of the day and the man who assisted me was very pleasant. When I remarked about now having glasses as a step into being a grown-up, he smiled and we had a nice exchange. The two women at the receptionist desk inside the eye area joined our conversation and it became kind of a funny joke about me finally becoming a grown-up with glasses. Everyone who works there is just so nice. The only part of my experience I wasn’t totally excited about, was after getting my eyes examined and trying on my glasses, the man who assisted me seemed a little irritated at my questions. I was first assisted by a woman who helped me figure out how to read the numbers on the side of the glasses to determine the right frame for my face shape. That was extremely helpful. When I finally found a pair and was helped by the gentleman, he ran the numbers by me so quickly and it was a lot pricier than I expected. Having not purchased glasses in eight years, I wondered if it was necessary to spend the extra amount on some of the things he suggested. When I asked if he wouldn’t mind if I texted my mom or called my mom to ask her that question, as she is an every day glasses wearer, he sort of scoffed and said, «Sure, but who are you going to trust, your mom or the professional?» That felt sort of awkward and I ended up just feeling pressured to make a decision without talking to anyone. I don’t regret my decision now that I have my glasses and they are wonderful. But that was sort of a strange moment. Anyhow, this is a long review and needless to say, I would definitely suggest coming here for your eye needs. I am continually grateful and pleased at Kaiser and the quality of care they offer.

This review applies only to the eyewear part of the clinic. I was pleased with my doctor. Regarding the eyeglass center, I was not pleased. Dealt with 4 employees there, only one of which provided good service(sadly he is retiring). The other three were either incompetent or just didn’t want to serve. Once you pay, forget about service.

Who ever thought I’d be rating a medical facility?!! I had to have emergency surgery on Easter Sunday and there is probably no better medical treatment available than I received. It was outstanding! From the Emergency check-in to the operating room staff, to the food, I couldn’t have had better if I were at the Hotel Vintage Plaza. They didn’t miss a step, had my go-home meds and follow-up physician’s appointments scheduled before I thought about it. These people were on their toes. Seriously, it was awesome. Kaiser should be a role model for a national health program.
