Just amazing. Went with the wife for lunch yesterday. Service was 5 Star, food was fantastic, beautiful space as well. I had the zucchini carpaccio appetizer, very generous portion, light and citrus-y. We split and shared 2 pasta entrees. The tagliatelle, and the mushroom ravioli. Tagliatelle was one of the best pasta dishes I have ever eaten. The ravioli was good as well, but anything pales in comparison to the tagliatelle. Tried the tiramisu and blueberry desserts. Both outstanding. Must try. Just do it.

Delicious. My husband and I went here to celebrate Valentine’s Day, and the ambiance was wonderful. Dimly lit, pretty décor, so romantic. We ordered the bruschetta appetizer to start and it was so good! Our waitress even split up the dish beforehand, so we each had a ½ piece of the three differently topped crostinis. My favorite flavors placed together on top of a nicely toasted crostini. So.good. For entrees, he got the short rib ragu with gnocchi and I got the bucatini. .god. I can’t stop thinking about both dishes! The gnocchi was more doughy than I liked but the ragu was hearty and filled with tender meat. My bucatini noodles were wider than I had expected but it was perfectly cooked and the sauce was so flavorful and on point. For dessert, we had to try the tiramisu. .god. That’s all I have to say about that. New favorite Italian restaurant.

I Fratellini is one of my favorite small Italian restaurants in St. Louis. This small but chic restaurant located in the heart of Clayton is a little gem. Whether you are going for lunch and or dinner you should probably make a reservation, as the small space fills up quickly. Lunch go-ers with glasses of white wine and the dinner go-ers with their reds. I love love their raw zucchini appetizer with the fresh grated parm on top. My go-to dish at I Fratellini is the almond encrusted trout(with spinach underneath). The sandwiches and pastas are always tasty too. I definitely end up getting the same dish every time I go… sometimes if I wonder off from my standard dish of the trout, I will get the mussels and a salad… My grandma loves the arugula and kale salad. Go — make a reservation — have a date night… and enjoy some savory food.

Made reservations for here 3 days beforehand without a problem. Then showed up on Thursday, and they didn’t have us down. We waited several minutes while the manager looked for our name. He couldn’t find it, asked if we would sit at the bar. I said not a chance, so he sat us at a regular table. A few minutes later he came to our table and said he had found us, the person who took the reservation had put us at the wrong time. Blah. It’s fine, people mess up sometimes. So we were sat. I loved the look and feel of this restaurant. It’s supposed to be like a European restaurant, and let me say, it’s spot on. Most of the restaurants were set up the exact same way, except in France the tables are even closer together. We ordered some wine, which the server took hardly a second to go get, which was awesome. Anyone who brings me wine quickly is a friend of mine! BF and I both ordered salads, he got the kale and arugula and I got the tricolored. Both of them were really good. Then for entrees we both got the lobster ravioli. Now, I like lemon just as much as the next person, but this was too much. He and I both agreed that the lemon taste completely wiped out any other flavor of the food. The noodles themselves were excellent, best pasta I’ve ever tasted. But the lemon was just too much, I didn’t like it and definitely wouldn’t get it again. I supposed if you really love lemons, this might be the dish for you. We then ordered desert. BF got the chocolate cake and I got the tiramisu. Now if you at all know me, you know tiramisu is my favorite desert ever. Ever ever. And I am in constant search of the ultimate tiramisu. I think I may have found it. This cake… omg. The ladyfingers were moist but not drenched and soggy. The coffee flavor was stronger than most other tiramisu I’ve had, and for me this is a wonderful thing. After the disappointment of dinner, I really wasn’t thinking I’d come back, but this desert is amazing. Oh, and BF’s chocolate cake was awesome too. And the cappuccino was fabulous too! The server was good. I like when the staff is attentive but not annoying, and they nailed this. The manager was very kind and did apologize for the mix up, and seeing as I just moved around the corner, I definitely will be back. I have mushroom ravioli to try! The table next to us kinda ruined the night a little as the group of 6 clearly did not have inside voices, and they were so loud I had a hard time hearing anything BF was saying all night. My only wish is that I wish there was more vegetarian options, aka, an eggplant dish would be fabulous.

Great atmosphere for an upscale dining experience. While on business travel I was able to grab an early seat at the small bar(4 seats) and enjoy great service and food. The place was packed by 630! The menu is full of delicious antipastos, pasta and main dishes. I tried the stuffed and grilled endive with prosciutto and mozzarella. Then for a main I had the porcini stuffed ravioli. I was completely full and wish I could’ve tried a dessert but didn’t get a chance. Nice glasses of wine are offered, or get a bottle as their list was pretty extensive for a smaller spot. They also have a full bar if you want a cocktail. By far my best meal while in St. Louis.

My favorite. Love to sit at the bar. Warm and cozy. It’s best for two or four people — not groups. And it’s on one of the most beautiful streets in STL.

Some amazing Italian food! This is probably the best Italian food I have found in St. Louis. Very small space inside but very romantic setting. Staff is on top of everything and service is top notch. I recommend the Tagliatelle with Prosciutto, Mushrooms and a light Garlic Cream Sauce. Can’t go wrong.

I Fratellini is one of my top 5 favorite restaurants in St Louis. I think it is by far the best Italian restaurant in St Louis(not exactly as in Italy, though). I grew up with Italian pasta and love it, which is a recipe for disaster if you move to St Louis. My wife thinks it is slightly inferior to its partner restaurant across the street, Bar les Frères. I like the tagliatelle, though it is a pretty heavy dish with a lot of cream and cheese. I mostly come for lunch and have not explored their wine list. The only time I had dinner at I Fratellini, my friend has ordered the wine. The service is good, friendly and polite. The decoration is nice and I like the style, especially for lunch.

Two visits to I Fratellini and I’m still in love. Service is warm, yet professional and the food is just fabulous. It’s cozy with just a handful of tables, but it’s still very inviting and comfortable. The off-menu lasagna is the best I have EVER had — seriously. It’s a monstrous serving and has just a little kick to it. The linguini with clams, white wine and garlic was outstanding as well. The caprini appetizer was generous and something I’ll definitely have again. It’s a creative, romantic, special place — highly recommend!

Truly a must visit if you love Italian cuisine and will be in the St Louis area. Seating is limited, so make a reservation; ask for a seat near the front of the restaurant in order to turn on all your senses. The wine list is fabulous; I recommend the reds — it’s Italian food for gosh sakes! In terms of food — you can’t go wrong with any pasta dish. If you came to this place and ordered the steak… I would not even want to know you! I ordered the house favorite lasagna and let tell you… Momma Mia!!! Freaking amazing in terms of quantity and taste. Huge portions will guarantee to leave you stuffed. But I was there on a business occasion and the client likes to eat and drink, so multiple bottles of wine and dessert were purchased. All of it was delicious! I don’t think I had to eat again for two days, but that was fine with me. This restaurant is what authentic Italian really means. Go there!

Very intimate dining area, wonderful ambiance(if a bit crowded). Good servers and good food. Though good, I find it hard to mark this place as a 5-star location(though I’ve only been there once, so perhaps after a couple of visits, I’ll be convinced otherwise). Excellent wine list, good drink specials. The cost is high, the food and service is good, but be sure to reserve a spot in advance since they don’t take many walk-ins.

Ambiance — 4 stars Menu — 4 stars Service –5 stars Portions 4 stars Value –4 stars The restaurant is located on the South side of the street on Wydown, just after you turn off of S. Handley. Metered parking is available and free after 5:00 pm, Monday — Friday — and FREE on the weekend! The interior of this Italian gem is brick with large mirrors to adorn the walls. This gives the impression of a larger space. Clusters of hanging lights illuminate the space, reminding me of little glowing bouquets and fresh cut red roses beautify the table. The dining room is small but quaint. To quench my thirst while waiting for my appetizer, I ordered a lovely cocktail made with Vodka, Prosecco, and lemon sorbet. It was fizzy, bright and set the mood. They serve fresh baked Italian bread that is moist with delightfully toothsome salted crust. The bread is served with a portion of sweet creamy pistachio butter… together…heavenly! For our appetizer we chose to share the gnocchi with guanciale in a delicious tomato basil sauce. The staff never made me feel uncomfortable about sharing food, they happily split all the portions and presented them to us in the same elegant manor as the full portions. Next we decided to share one of the evenings scrumptious specials, tagliatelle with Morels in a garlic cream sauce. The handmade pasta was served al dente with a scattering of the delicious seasonal mushroom. Our server brought us a small bowl of freshly grated Parmesan cheese! Be still my heart! Having shared the previous courses, we were then able to indulge in a full serving of the apex of the meal… dessert! The red wine poached pear with marscapone cheese was devine! The pear was succulent and the contrast between the rich mouthfeel of the cheese and the texture of the pear was perfectly matched. Then, if you add the slight sweetness of the red wine reduction you have an etherial dessert. Seriously etherial ! Do your self a favor an order the Port to sip with it… sublime. Ok… I’m done, all out of adjectives, but I meant each, and everyone I used!

I saw many good reviews and decided to go to this establishment. Reviews pointed out that it was dressy and so it was! I was a bit under dressed, being in gray slacks and a dark v-neck, but still managed to get service. Majority of the individuals were in suits and dresses! The food and service was excellent! Not a few minutes went by without one of the staff pouring additional water to my glass, never made it less than half. I cannot give information on the wine since I do not drink wine but there seemed to be a selection and most individuals were having some type of wine. I had one of two daily specials which had italian sausage! The server’s recommendation was on point. Remember to dress up and if you take a potential girlfriend/boyfriend for a first date, this place will be great!

This restaurant is an absolute gem. The service is impeccable, the food is just magnificent, and the experience is unlike anything any other restaurant in St. Louis can provide. Intimate, romantic, cozy, inviting — this place has it all.

Had a business lunch here today. I ordered the Salmon off the menu which was $ 15-$ 16 and it came on a bed of spinach. The food was good and the salmon was prepared well but it wasn’t very much food. I found myself hungry shortly after lunch which was a bit frustrating. I am sure their pasta dishes are more filling but the salmon wasn’t. If you get it be sure to order an appetizer and/or desert.

This little place is such a gem. It’s charming and candlelit, and look up, because the light fixtures are really cool. We started with the mussels, which came in this nice sauce. Delicious. I got the lobster ravioli, and it was also divine. Creamy and the perfect temperature. I hear that toasted ravioli is a St. Louis thing, but this was even better. The service was great. They have these tiny glasses for water and even though I was going through them fast, there was always someone filling up my glass. Loved it!

While in Clayton this month, we visited I Fratellini for lunch. The restaurant is small and quaint reminding me of what I imagine a a sidewalk café in Italy to be. We were seated by the window so the cool breeze blowing and sound of crisp leaves blowing down the sidewalk made it feel like vacation. The atmosphere was a bit stuffy appearing to attract the upper crust clientele for«doing lunch» or business power lunches. I had the mushroom ravioli with sauteed mushrooms in brown butter and sage. The presentation did not wow me and I started to question my decision when the plate arrived. But wait! I took a bite and it was fantastic. It was very mushroom-y without being overpowering. The sauce was light, much lighter than expected by the description, but I was deliciously surprised. I’d recommend a stop here. Don’t be turned off by the atmosphere if this sort of place is «not your thing.» The staff was very attentive and friendly to patrons. I saw one interaction that didn’t appear friendly with each other but it was minimal.
