Brought my Girlfriend there for the first and the experience was one of of Kind. We had to wait for a table and we went to the bar starting having drinks while we waited. The wait wasn’t long at all for a table. Upon sitting we ordered the filet mignon and Chicken for the each of us and a chef came out and prepared the dinner in front of us. GREATMEAL and great service! We will definitely be going back again.

This was my first time to Tepanyakis, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s very high end so my expectations were pretty high. I was not let down. My main concern going into it was the food quality. I was not disappointed. I decided to go with the shrimp. It was amazing, and I think the reason why I enjoyed it so much was the showmanship and care they put into making this an Enjoyable experience for everyone. Our server was awesome, not only was he amazing at what he did but he was very personable for someone who does that. He had the whole family laughing and having a great time. It is pretty expensive but in my opinion you get what you pay for in this case. I think everyone needs to try tepanyakis at least once. I wouldn’t go here very often because of the price but for special occasion I will be there. Great place and great food.

Love the Snow Roll! It is shrimp tempura, cream cheese and cucumber roll with crab, spicy mayo, sriracha, avocado & eel sauce. The fried rice and noodles are excellent. I usually don’t eat fish unless I’m on a coast, but their salmon here is the best I’ve had in Utah. The filet mignon is also delicious. I’m not a huge fan of the chicken-it’s ok. I also think the halibut is just ok.

Sat at sushi bar. Upfront the food is great. Ordered soup, salad, SnowRoll, and cheesecake. However the service wasn’t nearly as good. Soup and salad were brought out. When ordering specifically asked for both a fork and spoon. The waitress didn’t bring either. Tried to get attention but she was focused on getting tables and soy sauce delivered. Waitress brought out sushi. Again asked for fork and spoon. «Oh yeah. I forgot». Then she just brought out fork. When she came back 7 minutes later I reminded her she never delivered the spoon and my current soup was now cold. 3 minutes later fresh hot soup and a spoon finally arrived, along with the dessert. In the middle of trying of trying to eat soup, cheesecake still untouched, was approached by someone wanting the bill paid and did we need a to go box. Are you freaking kidding me. The Layton location leaves a lot to be desired service wise.

I dreaded coming here because of the price but I loved it. We were here for a birthday for my 11 year old niece. I loved their sushi. I am super picky about sushi but loved it. The full experience of the hibachi grill didn’t disappoint. Never had hibachi here. Food was great. Customer service rocked. I loved seeing my 3 year old niece eat with chopsticks. They were aggressive with refills for water. I would definitely return!

I love love this place. I have never found a place similar that has as great of food and Tepanyaki. It is the one thing I really miss about Clearfield. Most places I have been to don’t have a three meat combo, which is sad.

Meh… the food is ok. Rice was dry and bland. Veggies were bland and seared, not cooked. Chicken was ok. No seafood/yum yum sauce! They had this nasty mustard sauce. Chef forgot every detail for a few people’s order, which put our table behind. So there were 4 tables who came in after us within a 20 min span. They left between 10 – 20 mins before us. Not worth the time and money.

Best Japanese steakhouse & sushi bar in Utah! Our chef Steven was fun & entertaining. It was my boyfriend’s first time going there & he loved it. Definitely wants to go back. It’s a bit pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. It’s great-tasting food & plenty as well.

I Tepanyaki! The food here is always excellent. It’s some of the best steak I have ever had. I love how the fried rice comes with your meal, unlike Benihana. The chef was clever and fun. The service was as good as it could be on a super busy evening. This place has really good sushi. Their prices are also a little better than other hibachi joints that I’ve been to. It’s great for a big crew!

Came for dinner to celebrate my cousin’s birthday. It was GREAT. It was very entertaining to watch our talented and kind chef prepare our food right in front of us. The fire was insane. He was so talented at using his tools on that surface he probably trained for years. Our waitress was quite excellent as well. The food was excellent. Since we had just eaten a large meal for lunch not that long before, my mother and I each got one of the skewer appetizers and gave each other half of them. They were both awesome. I got rice and she got the noodles, and we once again traded half, and they were both good as well. All my family’s food was good as well. This is kind of an expensive place but I think it’s worth it for the experience and the food was all good. I would go if I lived here for special occasions.

I love Tepanyaki. It’s a little pricey, but great food. My wife and I usually get the Geisha special and split it which makes the cost about 10 dollars less than if you pay for your own meal. Surprisingly my favorite sushi in Davis County is here. Their Snow roll and Firecracker roll are phenomenal.

Fun place for a family dinner to celebrate a birthday. Our chef, Steven, was entertaining. We had salmon, scallops, steak and chicken entrees with veggies, fried rice, soup and salad. They brought ice cream sundaes for the birthday girl. We felt a little rushed even though we finished thirty minutes before closing. Thankfully they take reservations so we didn’t have to wait for a table.

Steven was our chef and he is amazing!!! He’s been cooking for 9 years and the filet mignon he prepared for me was one of the most buttery, delicious red meat treats I’ve had from any Tepanyaki establishment– and I’ve been to about 10 different kinds all over the US– this is just as good if not better than what I’ve had at competitors. The show is the show and if you’ve had Tepanyaki you could probably recount the«butterfly», the«egg roll» and the«onion valcano” — but for me when I go it’s not about the show it’s about the grub. And they got that part down! I told Steven when he went to throw the shrimp in my mouth that I didn’t like shrimp but would participate and so he grabbed a piece of my chicken instead to accommodate me– that was the first time I’ve ever had any of the places do that– Awesome! Good lookin’ out Steven! While dining I upgraded to the noodles– delicious with a hint of sweet, my entrée was teriyaki chicken with filet mignon and I asked to switch from onion soup to miso(only a $ 1 more). All in all it was so good! I would definitely recommend giving them a try after all«to each their own”-happy eating Unilocalers!

My kids really enjoyed the show and interaction with our chef. I had Sushi and the others had combinations of beef, chicken, and shrimp. The noodles were excellent. It is expensive but that is why we don’t come very often.

THE place for sushi in Layton. The grill is ok, but why eat steak when sushi is available. Atmosphere is awesome. It makes me laugh to read reviews complaining about the party-like atmosphere — how dare they have fun… Sushi chefs are very good at what they do and know how to make sure you’re having a good time. staff is very attentive and helpful. Good sushi every time at this location. Never a bad experience. WARNING: All Tepanyaki’s are not the same. I had a bad experience at one further south.

This review is for tonight’s experience. The waiter was good and we were having a great time. Sushi was good for tepanyaki, but average in comparison to other places one would go in search of sushi. Veggies, rice and noodles were very bland and all could have used more time on the grill. I think someone was in a hurry. The chef handled RAW chicken with a spatula, then seconds after decided to be cute and lay the spatula on my plate with raw steak with said spatula, contaminating the existing food. The chef finished cooking my filet mignon and salmon and put it on the plate. I wasn’t about to eat another thing on there and kindly let the waiter know. He took my plate away and brought a check. And…charged me for it. Fortunately I had cash and did some self reconciliation. Should I have called the health dept.

10 of us were squished around the table at this restaurant, and I was excited to be here, as I had never been to any of these chain restaurants before. Well, guess what? My favorite part of the meal — fried rice with shrimp sauce(aka yum yum sauce) was non existent. They don’t have the shrimp sauce here like every other tepanyaki place I have ever been to! Instead, they have a hot mustard sauce which was so disgusting I almost vomited. Their rice was dry, we couldn’t even finish it. It was such a wash out, I tell you. I was so disappointed. And we had to go to a waitress to ask her for some sauce to begin with. And I guess I am used to Kabuki’s, OSaka’s, Benihana’s, or Nijo Castle, where we get decent sized dishes of each of the sauces, instead of tablespoon-sized petri dishes. My mom, who is suffering from dementia, well, one of her joys in life now at this stage is eating. When we asked her why she looked unhappy, she said the meal was not very good at all. And this is someone who is definitely not picky about her food!!! Overall, the food was disgusting. It is a little cheaper than other tepanyaki places, but I don’t mind paying for GOODFOOD. I will never go back to one of these places ever again. We have been to hibachi places in at least 20 other cities in this country, and even outside of this country, and EVERYONEOFTHEM had shrimp sauce and ginger sauce. I am still flummoxed that they could still be in business with such poor food quality.

We dined here on a weekday night in a group of 7. We had a little bit of a wait, but not more than 10 minutes before we were seated. I was astounded at the prices. I’m accustomed to Benihauna I suppose. The sushi offerings were ample and equally inexpensive. We ordered a couple of rolls as appetizers for the group. The volcano roll was delicious and generously portioned. I didn’t try the other roll. I ordered the rib eye steak hibachi meal, a little bit apprehensive about the teriyaki sauce the menu mentioned. My fears were calmed when the most succulent plate of chopped rib eye morsels were delivered to my plate. The teriyaki sauce turned out to be a mild flavoring more like a demi glacé. The meat was cooked medium rare at my request and it was prepared perfectly. I am still dreaming about that steak, it was that good! The veggies and fried rice were a welcome departure from the super salty and greasy sides most Tepanyaki restaurants serve. I can’t wait to revisit this place the next time I’m in town!

Always good, always fresh, and always consistent. Sushi is as good as the grill & the noodles are to die for. I wish they had more grills, but we are in Utah.
