Always a great experience! The buffalo grouper sandwich is the bee’s knees! Great atmosphere and good prices. One of my favorite stops!

Used to be decent. Seems very touristic now. Had an order of Fish Tacos almost completely devoid of flavor, and an order of Fried Shrimp that was smothered in a salty cheese sauce, soggy, with a fishy aftertaste to the shrimp(not fresh tasting). Not recommended if you care about the flavor of your food. If you want to pound calories on the beach, go for it.

Beachy vibe with tourist shop. Not directly on the beach but a distant view of the marina. Can dock boat there. They catch their own grouper and snapper daily as they own their own fishing boats. Garlic crab fries were tasty but hard to eat and sat in a pool of melted butter at the bottom. Ceviche lacked flavor, it needed cilantro amongst other ingredients. Cajun grouper is their specialty and was perfectly satisfying. Stuffed avocado was delicious! Another one of their specialties! Red sangria was a hit! Buzzed after first drink! Good beer selection with good variety and specials! Service staff was excellent and quick! Parking was a breeze unlike many other establishments in the area.

I’ve been to the Saltwater Café location twice, but my family and I decided to try this location for a change. The food did not disappoint. My grouper sandwich was easily the best grouper sandwich I’ve had. Ever. The rest of my family all loved their meals as well. Their grouper nuggets and shrimp(grilled and fried) were great. Service was nice enough. The only reason I. m giving this place a 4 star and not a 5 star rating is because we had to sit outside because the wait time for indoor seating was longer than the wait for outdoor. Nevertheless, the food was outstanding. Highly recommended!

We dined here over the Memorial Day weekend holiday. The restaurant is nice with several outdoor sections for eating. The menu is extensive and offered many different selections. I had the pasta and my hunny had the grouper sandwich. Both were very good. Drinks were also good. Very pleasant service.

We usually come here every time we are in town. Food is decent but nothing amazing. I do love the she crab soup, but I didn’t get it this time so I could try something new. The meal took forever, but to be fair, there were 6 of us. Hubby and I got the grouper sandwich, and an order of lobster fries. The lobster fries were perfect and I would get them again and again. My only regret was that the lobster fries did not pair well with my rum runner and I got a serious case of heartburn It felt expensive for the food we got, but hey, it’s vacation, live a little, right? We will probably come back, but more because it is tradition, not because it’s amazing.

Service was average, fries weren’t very good, I got the Shrimp basket– the shrimp was good but pretty small, only 8, but they were good. Had the Cuban sandwich as well– it was very good. Prices extremely reasonable. Were out of the lobster Mac when we went– was going to order that, so maybe it’s pretty popular here.

I have no idea where the high-reviews are coming from other than assuming you folks are delusional from being in the damn sun too long. The«famed» grouper sandwich… unmelted processed american cheese, covering an unseasoned albeit large piece of fried grouper, on a soggy bun. Nothing monumental, life changing, or orgasmic about this deluxe-style fish sandwich from McDonalds. The Key West Mahi Mahi… good lord, I wish I hadn’t eaten any of it but I was hungry and needed some form of substance in my stomach. «Broiled» mahi mahi that might as well been boiled or microwaved because I would not have noticed it’s crust since it was SMOTHERED in a bland sour cream sauce that drenched this soggy piece of fish. It was disgusting. Not to mention the bland/seasonless/flavorless/watery/no-taste potato salad they placed before me, or the again bland/seasonless/flavorless/watery/no-taste rice and beans. If you can’t tell, my meal was horrible. And why is everyone and their dog getting all crazy about the«smoked» fish spread? You mean, the one that had ZERO smoke flavor or seasoning? I’ve had waaaaay better fish spread at other seafood restaurants in Florida. And what is with the individually packaged crackers? Trying to raise our carbon footprint with all that plastic. Well, the drinks were tasty but had little to no alcohol in it. So that was a bust too.

We wandered in here for food after a long drive down from Michigan. The wait wasn’t too bad considering the line that was there when we walked up. We sat on the patio not realizing how cool the nights can get compared to the warm days. But there were heaters so we weren’t suffering too bad(it was our own fault anyways). Our server was friendly, grabbed our drinks orders quickly. we ordered two of the chicken fingers dinner, one of the grouper sandwiches, and the South Beach Seafood Pasta. Our food took a little bit and we were a little hungry and cranky from the road– but they were busy. When it finally came, my stepdaughter’s pasta was not with our food. So we waited politely. And waited. And waited some more. Then my SO asked where her food was because he was getting pissed that the rest of the food was getting cold. It finally came with many apologies, but I didn’t my fries because they were cold and soggy by the time I got to them. Chicken was good, the grouper sandwich was good too. Just disappointed there was at least ten minutes in between our food delivery. Leave it under the heat lamp if you have to!

This is a great place to relax after a long day at the beach. The atmosphere is very laid back and not overly crowded. Went here twice my last visit to Clearwater and both times I got exceptional service. The first time I got the lobster tacos which were amazing, the sauce that came with them was the perfect accent to the meal. The second time I got the grouper, the fish was very fresh and tasty. Highly recommend to give this place a try, I know I will be back!

Caleb(I may be spelling that incorrectly) made our dinner great! The food was fantastic, fresh, and cooked to perfection. For starters, we had the Conch Fritters, and they were exactly what we were longing for. I had the Yellowfin Tuna, Wasabi Crusted, with the vegetables and rice and black beans. I usually shy from orders like this because they come out far too well done. However, this time it was exactly medium, and tasted incredible. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for lower-cost, higher-quality dishes.

Shitty Tavern food carelessly prepared and served poorly. Don’t waste your money here. Way too expensive for crap. Better deal would be the McDonald’s next door, and I never eat McDonald’s

This is a good alternative to the busier Frenchy’s location. They don’t have oysters though :(. Good drink specials. Modelo is $ 2.50. She crab soup is a must.

The grouper nuggets were delicious! Everyone at our table was pleased with their dinner which at a new place isn’t always the easiest to do. Our selections ranged from fish tacos, fried shrimp to a delicious cheeseburger. While it was waaay too intimidating for me, others at the table raved about the restaurant’s habanero hot sauce. You can buy a 5oz bottle for $ 3.99. I just wish it was a little smaller so I could’ve brought some home in my carry on . I ordered one of the chefs monthly specials: coconut shrimp tacos with mango jalapeño salsa. HOLYSMOKES these would make a seafood taco believer out of anyone! Overall the vibe was relaxed and friendly service was relatively quick. The manager stopped by a couple of times to make sure we were enjoying our food and the atmosphere. Our server was kind but a touch forgetful, however he had several other tables. The hostess was rather rude, no smile, no greeting and she made no effort to really help us in anyway. This is THEONLY reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5.

We really enjoyed the grouper sandwich here and the French fries are tops. This was our 2nd trip here and the food and service was excellent. The loss of one star is due too a sour/septic smell that hit us when walking inside. We got used to it and after 10 to 15 minutes… but why? The first thing you make sure of is the overall smell should not be offensive.

Cool place! My rating has more to do with the fact that it’s a great little place to hang out. If you’re looking for a place in Clearwater beach with outdoor seating, some music in the background, people to hang out with, and views of the beach and gulf, then this is your place. Surprisingly Clearwater beach doesn’t have a lot of options that overlook the beach… most are on the main street with views of walkers passing by. This location has great views and is relaxing. Till now I haven’t mentioned the food. It’s not bad, but most around here are the same… it’s your typical bar food. No complaints from me, but I go here for more than the food. Definitely worth stopping by!

Decided to stop before our day on the beach. As long as we’ve lived here, amazingly enough, we’ve never tried this place so figured it was about time. The place was nice and clean. They had live Jamaican music which was at a perfect volume and the guy was really, really good. Server said they were famous for their Grouper and they get it fresh daily, so we had to try. Our server Terrence was very nice, polite, and attentive. Our food came out amazingly fast. I went for grilled grouper sandwich and my wife ordered Grouper nuggets. The sandwich was indeed fresh and perfectly cooked. Ordered the original portion(they have a larger portion available) and it was generous enough. If I could complain about anything would be that it was a bit under seasoned. The Coleslaw is made with pineapples, which I love. It was very well seasoned and perfect amount of everything. Very good. The fries were well cooked, but nothing to write home about. The grouper nuggets were also very good, perfectly cooked, fresh, and also a bit under seasoned. Some of the nuggets had a bit too much breaking on them. Overall, the atmosphere, the food, the service, the location all made it a very good experience. If in the area, we would definitely come back again.
