Clearwater, FL

This location is the best in Clearwater. Everyone is friendly, equipment is new and clean. Locker rooms are well kept. I am thoroughly pleased. Childcare is important to me because I have 4 small children and the women working there are fabulous and great with kids. The general manager Joe is wonderful and seems to genuinely care about his gym and clients.

Well equipped but tightly spaced former Lifestyles location– shorter weekend hours, no pool/spa, basketball or, alas, heavy bags
Water pressure makes showers here reliable, unlike other Pinellas locations

Fees: $ 29.95 a month, $ 99 sign-up fee, first and last month fee due at signup.
Went to this location once and much prefer the other locations — very small and claustrophobic feeling. No pool, raquetball, or bb courts at this one.
Overall: If you need a pool for cardio, LA Fitness is the least expensive club with indoor pools at some locations. If you don’t need a pool or want raquetball courts, there are better options in the area that cost less and have anti-meathead rules (i.e., no grunting, no dropping heavy weights, no leering, etc.) like Youfit and Planet Fitness.
Pros: Monthly membership. Indoor pools, raquetball courts, and basketball courts at some locations. Staff at all locations are friendly.
Cons: The machines are old and sometimes broken for extended periods. Free weight area is very close to cardio and weight machine areas so you have to listen to roid rage loudness and feel gang rapey vibes sometimes.

This location is awesome. The equipment is newer than the other locations I’ve been to. It’s not as crowded as the other ones so there’s usually little to no waiting for equipment and plenty of cardio machines. Can’t beat location because it’s right next to Countryside Mall. Plenty of parking too.
