Great bbq! We had a little of everything and it was all fantastic! The sauce is great… not too sweet and a little tangy. Prices are very reasonable.

A real Q joint. Great pulled pork and ribs!!! Prices are great. I had the pulled pork sandwich and rib special. I ended up taking another pound of pork home!!!

Wow… had a pulled pork sandwich, 3 ribs and a coke for 8 bucks and it was outstanding. Don’t forget to try the sauce… the ribs were great on their own but holy moly they were a great sauce delivery vehicle.

Delicious. Mainly a local place for area workers to lunch. They close at 4, but we got great attention between 3 and 4.

Amazing BBQ! First time here and I wish I lived here to eat more. Had the pork plate and it was great. Beans were good as well as the potato salad. Prices were great and the whole family enjoyed it.

Poppa’s is a solid choice for good BBQ. I’ve had the pulled pork and the ribs and both were delicious. They know how to smoke their meat at Poppa’s. The sides are standard, the service is friendly. You’ll enjoy your meal here.

This is a no-​frills BBQ place. They serve what they have until it’s gone for the day. I had ordered the special that day: pulled pork sandwhich, 2 ribs, and a drink for $ 7. This is an amazing price. The ribs were good, but the pulled pork sandwhich was better. I was quite full despite not ordering the «large» pulled pork sandwhich. Their sauces were also pretty good.
If i could do it again, I would order just the pulled pork sandwhich with a side order of cole slow. Maybe get some ribs to share with friends. Overall, this is a great price for the bbq you’re getting. The people are also really nice.

Damn good BBQ and really friendly service makes Poppa’s my go-​to barbecue joint in all of Pinellas Park, Largo and Clearwater.
They had a great lunch special the day I went which offered me a pulled pork sandwich, 2 ribs and a drink for $ 7. I upgraded to a large sandwich for a dollar more and it was a ton of food. Besides the large amount of food for the price, the barbecue itself was made to perfection. The pulled pork was smoky and juicy and the ribs were tender, but still had a nice bite.
If you’re in the area, come by around 11. The line seems to get pretty long after that. If you’re stuck in the line though, don’t worry, it moves pretty fast.

Worst ribs I have ever had! I can cook better ribs with a hot plate. Didn’t even take the membrane off what a joke.
These other people giving reviews must be family members, friends, neighbors ect.
Don’t waste your time or money.

Poppas is by far my favorite BBQ place. I end up having lunch here at least twice a month, sometimes more often. I always get the «Jumbo Special» which includes a pulled pork sandwich, 2 ribs and a drink. The jumbo part means that you get some extra meat on the sandwich and if you are lucky you might get 3 ribs on your plate or get an end piece with some extra smokey yumminess. The have the typical BBQ-​place sides (Beans, Potato Salad, Slaw, Chips) and they also have smoked chicken breast but he pork and the ribs are definitely the stars of the show. They are tender, tasty and smoked to perfection. Make sure you try their home-​made BBQ sauce too.
The only negative I can think of is that sometimes it gets busy and the line can be out the door. Yeah… It’s that good!

What a disappointment, it’s 6:30pm and we are sitting in front of Poppas only to find it closed because they sold out. Came from St Augustine for some good BBQ. What a disappointment.

Best ribs and pork sandwich in Clearwater. Go for lunch and get the special, upgrade for $ 1.

Dry rub ribs were excellent. Prices are very reasonable for the quality. Half rack of ribs was $ 10 and worth every penny. I got here are 11:30 and was one of 3 – 4 people, which had me worried that it wouldn’t be good. By noon, there was a line out the door. Apparently everyone else has discovered this place already. Glad I got here early. Really really good.
Not fancy. If you’re expecting Sonnys or Shane’s Rib Shack, take your weak bbq-​eating self somewhere else. This place is legit.

Poppa’s BBQ is one of those no-​nonsense places that don’t really specialize in nice décor or attention to service but the ones you go to for the best food. I decided to check it out on a weekday for lunch.
Poppa’s is located in a shopping mall and you might just miss it if you’re not especially looking for it. The place was busy catering to the business lunch crowd. Majority of the people seemed to be getting the business lunch special which comes with pulled pork sandwich, brisket, 2 sides, and a drink for under 10 bucks which is a pretty good deal. Since I wasn’t particularly hungry, I went for just the BBQ pulled pork sandwich. My sandwich was ready to be picked up on the counter within 2 mins. The pork was nicely shredded and moist and came with a mild bbq sauce. I decided to make the sandwich even better by putting some hot bbq sauce on it. I kind of wished that it was a little bigger but overall I was satisfied.
You probably don’t need to make a trek from far away as there are tons of good bbq places all over Tampa Bay. However, if you’re near the PIE airport then Poppa’s BBQ is a really good option.

Hands down the best BBQ in the area. The ribs, pulled pork sandwich, and smoked chicken breast are exceptional. We go there at least twice a week for lunch.

This little gem is by far the best BBQ in the area. They offer Memphis-​style BBQ and the baby back ribs come clean off the bone. The BBQ is so good that they are not even open for dinner and the weekends. If you come during a work day lunch you will see that this place gets packed. It’s counter-​service and very casual, but it’s not the ambiance why people come here, it’s the food. If you come late they may run out of your favorite meat. They don’t have that many side selections (nothing fried) but that doesn’t affect my rating. My recommendation is try the chicken and rib combo. For less than $ 10 you can’t go wrong.

I am not a big fan of BBQ businesses at all. So many times do I get let down by either the initial offering or consistency (4Rivers). This joint has some great «Q».
I had the pulled pork sandwich and some ribs. The ribs were tender and not covered in BBQ sauce. The sandwich had just enough sauce to moisten it further. No more.
I am not a big fan of sauces at all but their sauce was great!
Go to Poppa’s BBQ! It is terrific stuff. You will not be sorry!

real Q. The special of the day was the regular pulled pork sandwich and 2 ribs. I was still recovering from a bad ribs experience a few days ago in south Georgia so decided n the regular sandwich and two sides. Huge mistake. The ribs were true babybacks and had a solid smoke line. The sides were good.
The BBQ pork was perfectly smoked and pulled containing both inside and outside bark. Sauce wasn’t necessary but enjoyed when splashed. Poppa’s has it done to perfection.

There hardest part is deciding which plate to get. This place is great, friendly staff and excellent food. Make sure you check out Poppa’s BBQ.
