Really good BBQ for reasonable prices. Very casual atmosphere and good lunch specials.

This place does BBQRIGHT!!! The ribs are amazing, wings are amazing and brisket too! The sides aren’t awarding winning; however who really cares about sides when you have a mound of mouth watering ribs in front of you.

I selected 1 star because Unilocal doesn’t allow negative stars. My husband and I went here when we were jonesing for BBQ. We’ve been to numerous BBQ Competitions across the country and Lumpys Reviews seemed decent so we went. The service was sub par with everyone behind the counter having conversations with each other and not caring about customers. When ordering I was asked if I wanted hot or mild sauce. I asked which one was better and got a generic«both.» I got each sauce on the brisket. 2 orders. When opening the take out containers which were cheap and leaky I was excited to try. Well if you like dry diner quality brisket go here. If you are looking for good BBQ — don’t go here. We were so disappointed after eating a small portion we threw the food away. $ 35.00 in the trash. The brisket sauce had no flavor and the quality of the brisket was cheap and mealy. Don’t waste your money.

Went in on spur of the moment not sure what to expect. Purchased some take out and was I surprised the Ribs and sides were excellent. My wife and I were still talking about them the next day. I will definitely be back.

I’m a big fan of this place. Best beef ribs this side of Texas. The service is beyond good. Like sandwiches? Dig in. The people are. great, the food is great and the prices are right… so what are you waiting for. Give it a shot. You’ll be back. Oh yeah, I make the ride from New York. It’s worth it!

Ventured here on a random Saturday. We ordered the ribs, burnt ends, wings and greens, mac & cheese and cornbread as sides. Everything was fresh and delicious! Ribs were fall off the bone tender. Burnt ends were perfection. Only reason for 4 stars is because the spicy bbq sauce is WAY better than the regular but my dining mates don’t like spicy. Also, the sweet potatoes weren’t the best. Will definitely be back to try the pulled pork and another type of wings!

Orders food from this location over the past year. Food was great for a long time. There was then a period of time where the quality of food slacked.(The ribs). Recently the food quality is back to normal. Outstanding food and fast device. Best bbq delivery place ever!

BBQ was good tried to Chile and the brisket pork combo sandwich I was a little leery about a barbecue joint in a strip mall but they made me a believer. If I had a complaint it would be whoever owns that strip mall needs to address the maintenance issues

I ordered takeout from here on an NFL Sunday. It was only about a 10 minute wait for the food which was fresh and hot. I will be going back to try other menu items. I am not a huge barbecue person when it comes to things like ribs and brisket, but the beef brisket melt was quite delicious. The addition of the cheese and grilled onions really made it work. The burnt ends also were good as well. The hot barbecue sauce on both had the right amount of kick to it. The only thing I didn’t like was the side of collar greens. It was kind of bland without much taste/flavor to it. Also, this place leaves the hard«spine» in the leaves(which I always thought was inedible since it has always been deleted). I have never ever seen greens cooked that way. The spine is usually cut out and discarded; the leaves rolled and sliced into ribbons. Maybe next time I will get the mac and cheese.

What are these burnt ends that everyone is talking about? All the reason to come back here and find out. Lumpy’s BBQ hit the spot after a Sunday afternoon excursion to the Gloucester Outlets. Shopping on a Sunday? I’m really NOT in Bergen County anymore, Toto! My Sexylove ordered the pulled chicken platter with a side of green beans(flavor akin to collard greens), and I ordered the pulled pork platter with a side of cole slaw. We both opted for hot sauce instead of mild, and we waited for our food at our table with bated breath. He and I are talkers but I don’t think we came up for air the entire time we ate. We «oohed» and«ahhed» like two starved wackos. The flavor of the pork was amazing and the cole slaw was an awesome accoutrement(I have been dying to use that word all day today). We even ordered some food for later… it was that good. Lumpy’s seems like more of a to-go place, as there were a good amount of people picking up orders. That being said, there are a handful of tables inside, should you require your BBQ gratification right then and there. The atmosphere inside is a bit dingy(clean though) but the vibe was very chill and relaxed. I am not an expert on BBQ and styles of BBQ and all that jazz, but I can tell you it was BBQ-tastic. And that’s reason enough for me to give two thumbs up!

Stopped in for lunch one day. The ribs are excellent and some of the best I’ve ever had. I always get them spicy. Corn is delicious and service is fast. Whenever I’m in the area I always grab a platter. I wish they had a location closer to my house.

As far as straight up BBQ is concerned this place is top notch. Tucked away in nondescript shopping mall any doubts I may have had vanished when I got a big whiff of pure BBQ smoke after walking through the door. I ordered the burnt end beef tips and a beef rib. The beef rib looked liked something from a dinosaur, it was huge and meaty with a fantastic bark. It was permeated with luscious layers of pure smoke and brushed just enough with a traditional thick BBQ sauce. It was so big I got full before I could try the burnt ends, but when I ate them the next day they were still scrumptious. Burnt ends are the crusty barky parts of a smoked brisket and in my opinion the best part. I have to give them 4 stars though because the cornbread tasted a little bland and plain and a quick glance behind the counter revealed it was Sara Lee. That won’t deter me from coming back though, the BBQ itself is on point.

Living 40 minutes away being very picky foodies who often try new food and face disappointment when doing so we decided to stop in for take out since we have been craving real BBQ. After reading all the reviews we could find online we decided to stop in. We got a few pulled pork sandwiches with fries(extra sauce for the fries as recommended by another review) the sandwiches were great. On an excellent bun. Tender juicy pork with a lather of bbq sauce we did get one with Whiz and it was AMAZING. Then we also had an order of burnt tips with a side of sweet potatoes and added cornbread. Not familiar with it or brisket but we tried them as a lot of reviewers recommended them. I thought they would be harder or more tender maybe like a harder piece of meat but either way they were very good. Kids enjoyed the very crispy chicken fingers and fries. All of our meals were with Mild sauce as it was perfect for our taste.(Has just a little kick as a good bbq sauce should) The fries were very well cooked with a great seasoning. We ordered a slice of pecan pie and a banana pudding cup. They were both very good as well. We enjoyed our food all the way through. The young lady at the counter was nice and patient as well.

This place has really good bar b cue. I’ve tried other places but for this area this is the best. They have great sides as well. I like that I can mix and choose multiple items. My favorite is the pulled pork and sweet potatoes. Can get a little pricey, but we’ll worth it.

I’ve had a lot of great barbecue platters from Lumpy’s, like their pulled chicken, pulled pork, burnt ends, and chili. All of these options work best with their hot barbeque sauce which has the perfect amount of heat. Burnt ends are probably my favorite option so far. Their sides are usually very lacking and I’ve tried all of them. However, the corn bread is really tasty and goes perfect with the chili. The mac and cheese is probably their second best option and works really well when combined with the hot barbeque sauce from your platter.

I can only presume the haters work for some other BBQ establishment or something. I’ve had lots of BBQ in my days. Lumpy’s is outstanding. I’ve had their pulled pork, ribs and most recently, their burnt ends. Holy cow, the burnt ends. Eating those was like a religious experience. I ordered my burnt ends with the mild sauce, but added a bit of the hot for some extra kick. For sides, I had the BBQ beans and cornbread. The beans were so-so, not the best. The cornbread was excellent though.

I love good barbecue, but it can be hard to find it in the Philadelphia area. This isn’t the south. Here cheesesteak and pizza places are on every corner, not BBQ joints. Lumpy’s BBQ can be literally hard to find. It’s easy to accidentally drive right past because it sits in a nondescript shopping center and isn’t all that visible from the road. I’ve passed it a thousand times and never noticed it. I only found it because I was looking up some other local restaurants on Unilocal. However, I can happily report that Lumpy’s has the best barbecue that I’ve ever had north of the Mason-Dixon Line. It’s a simply decorated place and operates much like most barbecue restaurants. You go the counter to order and you get your own drinks. Your food is brought to your table when it’s ready. When we first walked in and saw we were the only diners in the place, we were concerned, but they clearly do a booming take-out business. I was also really excited to find out that they deliver. We ordered pork ribs, pulled pork and burnt ends. They were all delicious and served with 2 sauces(hot or mild). The burnt ends were especially delicious. The sides we chose were good, although the mac and cheese was not as good as I would have hoped for. In doing some research on my phone on the way home, I read that the owner competed on the BBQ Pitmasters TV show, so when we got home, I immediately bought that episode on iTunes. It made me want to go back for more right away or, better yet, get some delivered!
