College Baseball, does it get any better? Doug Kingsmore Stadium is a great place to catch some top quality college ball in a great stadium. Clemson baseball hosts many top notch programs like ACC giants USC and Florida State. The stadium had some major renovations done in 2002 – 2003; which have made DKS one of the top college baseball stadiums in the Nation. Regardless of who you support, it’s worth catching a game here.

As much as it will surprise my fellow GT alums and fans, I’m going to go on record as saying that this is the best tailgating experience in the ACC. Because I’m biased for my team, I’ll say that it’s the 2nd best baseball stadium in the ACC. The stadium itself if well maintained and cleaned with plenty of restrooms and concession stands(which don’t take cash and there isn’t an ATM, btw). In my last 3 road trips, I was murdered by the sun and heat for the Sunday afternoon game, since this stadium didn’t have a lick of shade in any of the seats. But now with the grandstands added in left field, which have awnings that shade at least half of the seats, and with each seat having a back, the experience is quite pleasant. This was the 4th year that I’ve made the road trip to Clemson for the Georgia Tech v. Clemson baseball series, and I don’t have a bad memory about any of the trips. While I don’t care for orange, and definitely not when it’s in used in combination with purple, you have to admit that these people know about branding and school pride. And outside the stadium, they’re darn friendly. Not to mention that there’s a little creek nearby which makes for the perfect atmosphere for an afternoon nap. They’ve recently added a mural of a tiger’s face with some baseball players in the grass around him. The tiger’s eyes glow orange after dark. I’m wishing I’d taken a picture… Parking is free and plentiful. It’s cheap to get into the games, particularly if you wait until the 5th inning, when it’s free. #Yelp365 — 124⁄365
