Fairmount Cleaners

Usually at the end and beginning of the winter season I get my coats dry cleaned. Having not done that yet this season I took advantage of the unseasonably warm weather and decided to get my main winter coat done. It’s mostly wool and a darker color so it can collect a lot of lint, especially around the lapel. Rather than sit with a lint brush and painstakingly do it myself, I opt for having the pros do it. So being new to the area I jumped on Unilocal to check out my options.
The good for this place: parking, it’s clean, customer service was good and the turn around time was fast. Dropped off Friday, available to pick up Monday.
The not so good: It cost me double what I’ve been paying in Pittsburgh. I thought ok maybe because they are a green cleaner or it’s going to be exceptionally done. Unfortunately no. While there is improvement in the overall look of the coat, little fuzzies were still all over. I ended up getting out the lint brush and doing it myself anyway. Overall it was an ok experience.

Miracle workers.
I have a huge stuffed polar bear I got for Christmas when I was two (in 1981). Charlie (the bear) has been through everything. I have had him dry cleaned in the past, and while he ended up clean, his stuffing was still kind of flat.
My cats got sick on him, and he was looking pretty sad overall. The dry cleaner in Tahoe wouldn’t do him, so when I moved back to Cleveland Heights, I brought Charlie here. He had been in a big black bag Fairmount put him in for a couple weeks, as I was waiting until I was all unpacked to take him out.
I opened the bag.
He looks just about as good as he did when I was a kid. I don’t know what they did. As soon as I got his head out of the bag I started crying. It’s that good.
I don’t have any «before» pics, so you’ll just have to compare to a pic from when I was 4 or so to the new ones. Suffices to say, after a wordy review, I will take everything here in the future.

Fairmount picks up and delivers my cleaning. Quality work. A little higher priced but worth it.
