Wish it wasn’t &15 for a friend to try it once… Oh, and a hotel guest asked if I wanted a BJ in the steam room. I refused because I’m not gay. Other than that, nice facility and great perks for a membership. Well, that’s it.

I switched to this gym a month ago and love it. It is in a great location overlooking the east bank. The equipment is great and the atmosphere makes you excited to go to the gym

EB Fitness is by far one of the nicer fitness places I have been to yet! They have a variety of machines, dumb bells, free weights, racks etc. to get just about any workout imaginable done! My favorite part is the classes they offer. Traditional weight lifting can get very boring and mixing in a few classes really helps keep things interesting, as well as challenging! I have yet to try some of the more popular classes due to scheduling conflicts with my job but I look forward to continuing my membership there! They also offer a variety of services that are similar to a spa, which give it the over all«club» feel. The price is not bad either considering what you get for it, back at home in Michigan I have to pay and arm and leg just to get into the classes EB offers let alone having a fully functioning gym to go with it! Overall so far I am very happy with my decision to train there, it also doesn’t hurt that it is right across the street from my apartment!

This gym is fancy! I like that it’s clean. I usually go to the body pump classes. The instructor motivates you! I like her personality. If you are in a rut and have plateaued in your fitness, try this class. It’s an all body workout to make you go beyond your comfort level. The general area of the gym has new equipment.

The Gym is great, very clean and all new equipment. Problem is they blast music and it is of the worst variety. It’s only really suitable for High School Cheerleaders. And within 1 hour you will hear the same songs over and over again. If they could just play something that wouldn’t make my ears bleed it would be the perfect gym.

So much fun at acroyoga last night! As a fitness instructor myself, and coming from working at gyms all through college, I can say this gym is top of the line. Clean, lots of amenities included in the membership, and amazing variety of classes. The only drawback is the price starting at $ 55 but this isn’t far off from other gyms and this includes a lot.

This place has definitely got potential. I’ve been a member since it opened in October 2013, and I’ve seen a lot of progress. I agree with most of the things that previous reviewers have mentioned. Pros: clean(especially sauna and locker rooms), new cardio equipment and weights, lots of free class options(with membership), personable and qualified staff(some of them), hot yoga room(option for heating), TV options on most cardio machines Cons: class schedule continuously changes(every 1 – 3 months), all instructors/trainers aren’t awesome(some consistently start class late or aren’t as organized or energetic as others), unprofessional emails(but it’s a gym, so this isn’t high on my list although it REALLY annoyed me at first), microphones/sound system in classrooms don’t always work A few more tweaks, and I will definitely revise my review for a higher rating.

If I could give it a zero rating, I would. I signed up when they were in the process of opening through some special where they discounted/waived the initiation fee. Problem with that is you have to trust that what you’re told is true. I specifically asked about deadlifting and squat equipment, and was promised the equipment was on its way. Come to find out down the road that they don’t permit deadlifting because of being directly above a restaurant. I tried to cancel my membership in February when it became apparent the gym didn’t meet any of my needs. If I wanted a gym where guys spend more time doing ab work than actually building core strength this might be the right gym. I put it on par with Planet Fitness for being a joke of a gym, though. Anyway, back to my point: I tried to cancel in February and was told it was as simple as providing a letter of cancellation. Mailed one in and hand delivered it to still have them trying to charge me into the summer. When I threatened their credit agency with a lawsuit for violation of the Fair Debt Collection Act, the calls stopped. I had already filed a number of disputes with my credit card company for the charges being pulled. ANDTHENHADTOPUT A HOLDONANYCHARGEFROMEBBECAUSETHEYCONTINUEDTOTRYBILLINGME! The hold on any of their charges is in effect until next October. Sadly, I expect I’ll have to deal with this again a year from now since they can’t seem to properly cancel a membership or act with any professionalism. So, if you want a membership to a place that doesn’t actually allow you to lift heavy weights while charging you quite a bit, this might be the place for you. If you want a gym that is incapable(or unwilling) to follow the terms of your at-will contract in cancelling the membership, then what are you waiting for? You should have signed up yesterday.

I’m a little surprised to see all of the negative comments here. While the value isn’t great, I really enjoy the cleanliness of the facility, the new equipment, and the lack of crowds at EB Fitness. I would recommend this place to anyone living or working nearby. Note: I don’t attend group x classes, so can’t speak to their availability or quality

All of the comments are true here. Not worth money unless you really need a gym down town just to do cardio but the weight area is small and all the classes they advertised — some never happened. Fees went up after joining. I called to cancel my membership and really, the customer service was subpar. I wasn’t asked why or anything. they don’t really care. They did not honor what was in the contract for 30 day cancellation. VERY disappointed. NOTHINGLIKEEASTBANKINCHICAGO. Nothing at all. Clean and the machines — cardio and weights all work. those are 2 positives.

I joined in January 2014 and have been very happy overall. The staff has been very friendly and helpful, everything is kept clean and they have a TON of equipment. Other reviewers mentioned being disappointed with some classes not being available, I don’t think it’s fair to expect all classes to be up and running the first few months the club is open. The business has to build up membership to be able to offer all classes. I believe all of the classes they advertise are now available. There is parking validation available if you are just coming to work out. I do have a problem with their guest pass policy. This club does not have a pool, track, basketball or racket ball courts and they want to charge guests of members $ 15. This will not earn them any new members. Maybe 5 guest passes per year and then charge after that. They did give a guest pass once, but it was good for about 2 weeks, why bother? This is a really nice gym and fairly priced, just needs a few adjustments. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a nice place to workout. But again, no pool, basketball court etc.

Don’t join East Bank Fitness Cleveland. After only being opened 2 ½ months they’re are charging their members a $ 30 improvement fee because they bought new weights. What a joke. They are obviously hurting for cash. They just fixed the hot water in November.

Though the Club does offer some additional services over other downtown fitness clubs, the staff really killed the deal for me. An overall lack of professionalism, and a bit too arrogant for my taste. Whenever there is an issue, all the Club can do is offer an excuse. The facility is also not very centrally located. Don’t buy a long-term membership, I would not be surprised to see this place gone w/in a year.

Ah, the old bait-and-switch. After purchasing a membership here and reading all the advertisements about what classes they would offer vs. what classes they actually offer, there is a bit of deception going on here. For example, during opening month they advertised TRX, Crossfit, Aerial Yoga, Insanity, and a number of other branded/trademarked classes. A few of these classes are no longer offered as of the November group class schedule. They advertised a React trainer… no such thing. And whose bright idea was it to think that, if and when they DO have TRX, that hanging straps from a bar that is part of a barbell rack gives people room to move and actually perform TRX workouts? It doesn’t work that way. I took the Tabata class and it was a joke. No motivation or energy whatsoever from the instructor. Don’t get me wrong… this place is very nice with brand new, nice equipment. But $ 15 for a guest pass? Who charges for guest passes anymore? Charge the damn hotel guests that price but not friends of members. Tacky. I have a membership at the CSU Rec Center because my trainer is there. My trainer is outstanding, the classes are great(specifically the Tabata class and 158 will kick your ass hardcore), and they have a pool. All this for the bargain basement price of $ 40 per month. And the facility is awesome. Repeat, awesome. Sorry, East Bank(or is it EB because of name infringement with East Bank in Chicago) but you haven’t lived up to the hype in my opinion and I will be cancelling my membership. Major disappointment.
