Handel’s Ice Cream

I love handel’s ice cream in garfield, but I’ve been there 3 times within 30 days and I’ve noticed the ice cream is too soft, like they need to turn the freezers up so the ice cream isn’t so soup like and melting before the server can put it in your hand.
The other thing that is turning me off about handel’s is on the sorbet parfiat they used to allow you to pick which 2 flavors of sorbet you wanted and NOW they have decided you have to pick one flavor of sorbet. I feel I should be able to pick two flavors that I like as the paying customer.
Last but not least… they have 4 windows but they only use 2 windows and every blue moon they will use a 3^rd window. But the line to get ice cream becomes extremely too long.

Pretty awesome ice cream spot in Garfield. My only gripe is that there’s way too many people in line versus how many people are on staff in the summer. So the line tends to be long and slow. They have some seating too which is nice :)

A Youngstown girl who’s familiar with the original Handel’s on the south side of the YO… I have to tell you to head over to Handel’s. There’s a great selection of stuff. They’ve got great stuff and I guarantee it’ll be in the flavor you love the best. Go get some. What are you waiting for? Go! :)

Very good ice cream Taste never had before it’s homemade good prices five star all the way

Ice cream tastes great… BUT when I drive half way across town because I hear that a place is amazing and don’t get what I pay for it’s a huge disappointment. We waited in line for about 15 minutes. Then it took more than 10 minutes to make my ice cream. After all of that I didn’t even get a full hurricane. After asking of I could get mines full like everyone else I was told no because it was made correctly and they wouldn’t remake it or add more. Very rudely! The service was unprofessional and I refuse to spend money where my service is not appreciated. I’ll try the Northfield location if I ever decide to try it again.
It really is a shame because the ice cream was tasty.
Bad service always ruins the experience for me no matter how good the product is.

Yes, this is delicious.
I highly recommend spouse like a house ice cream.
Staff is nice. Pretty sure they are open year round. What else can I say, it’s worth driving 45 mins to eat ice cream here.

Excellent flavor profiles! Ice cream is good texture and there are decent choice selection.
I had the espresso, cherry, and dark chocolate.
Also, I’m told very clean sanitary practices

The peanut butter parfait and Snappy Turtle are fantastic.
