One of those oldies but goodie dive bars… basic drinks with local characters. Race car decorations and Marlboro stinking on everyone’s breathe… queen Sophie rest in peace. Nothing like having her make your drinks.

It’s a great seedy bar that gets the job done. I love places with character and history– and this place has both. Apparently it’s one of the oldest bars in Bergen County. It has Polish pride which is always a plus for me(I’m a full blooded Polska!!!). I had mostly beer when I went there which was cold and refreshing but then I had a sudden urge for an amaretto. It was a great place to hang out with friends. It’s nice and small with street parking. I didn’t try the food but I’ve heard good things. Will be back :)

Gill’s. Felt like I walked into an old tv set bar scene where everyone knew each other. It was 2 am and my friend and I each ordered two massive burgers. No we didnt just get out of prison, we were just fuckin hungry after a night out. The burgers took forever but they were awesome. I mean solid burgers. Somehow the place got busy only after we arrived. I’m not sure what the hell happened, but this place has my thumbs up. The creepy, ugly, but kinda friendly patrons somehow added to the appeal. I hope they’re around next time, or it just wont be the same.
