Their chocolate raspberry and chocolate pistachio mini cakes are to die for. I had to minus one star — they never seem to have the chocolate raspberry cake in stock when I’m there. :/Other than that, price is reasonable and their shop is cute/cozy(great for date nights and/or after dinner dessert).

Came across this place doing some grocery shopping with one of my friends across the street. I was super hungry. So I look across the street and boom this place kind of stuck out to me . So we walk in and the place had some unique furniture to it. I didn’t mind. They were closing so the place was empty. I just wanted to order whatever was quick. So they had meatpies, and they heated it up and brought it out. It was good. Not amazing or great but just good. The service here was nice, the ladies were super sweet and kind. Very accommodating. They have baklava for days… I’m just not a fan of Baklava On to the best part of this place… So I am a huge fan of Chocolate… I am a huge fan of Pistachios also What happens when you combine them and put them infront of me? Well I start drooling. I saw it and had to have it. Needless to say I ordered it and it was Delicious, it was rich, I could only eat half and my friend even had some, still had enough left to take home. I definitely recommend it if you are fan of both. Enjoy the Pics, especially if you cant make it to the shop :)

**This is strictly a baklava review. The first time I had their delicious baklava morsels was at their BK location. Can you guess my excitement when I found out they were also located in Cliffside Park, NJ?! They are literally a 2 minute drive from me and for the past while my boyfriend and I were making trips to Gulluoglu once a week: making the average monthly baklava bill around $ 80. After realizing how much we were spending a month, we made a decision to limit our trips there two twice a month. It’s very hard to not have their baklava on top of mind because it’s just sooooooo delicious. I will say however, their customer service could be slightly better.

I have been to this place countless times. I must say I have also been to the original«café» when I visited Istanbul a few years back. Now it will be unfair to compare the two. However in comparison with the other turkish cafes in the area, Gulluoglu is one of the best. I always find the staff to be pleasant and attentive. The food is always delicious. Last but not least their turkish coffee and tea are just great.

This dessert spot is so delectable! Beautiful décor and very friendly service. Not a huge selection, but what they do offer is always fresh and delicious. I was going to pick the same thing I always pick(BAKLAVA) and they let sample a sour cherry version. WOW! My taste buds exploded! Great place!

This is a wonderful little bakery in Cliffside Park! They have beautiful and delicious mini cakes that are great for special occasions or a «single sized» dessert. My favorite is the chocolate blackberry, but the cheesecake is delicious too. I have purchased these cakes and given them as gifts to friends. The staff was also friendly and knowledgable about the cakes. I have not tried their baklava or other Turkish items because I keep wanting to try different flavors of their cakes.

I have absolutely NO idea why there are any neg reviews at all for this place. I’ve been here several times in the last couple months(since first going) and every time is a pleasure. The people are always so friendly and attentive. They make you feel incredibly welcome, always greeting me with a genuine smile. Authentic baklava. A friend initially brought this to us as a gift for a party we threw… my mother came days later and tried it and was hooked. My mother is lebanese and has tried many a baklava in her lifetime. :) She LOVED it. Authentic with pistachios. YUM. The turkish delight so tasty too. Also– the boregi here is AMAZING. I tried that the other day and it was like heaven. I haven’t had anything that tasty in a long while. I am so happy to have discovered this place. Just makes me happy to have something prepared with pride and love… similar to food my grandpa made when I was little.

Be aware of extremely unfriendly staff. Don’t expect a greeting you when you enter into premises, a friendly smile when you are giving your order or a goodbye when you are leaving. Their desserts were OK, but not exceptional, Turkish Coffee lacked the foam and sahlep was too thick, almost like rice pudding. What a pity that such a good Turkish Trademark, Gulluoglu, is being run by a management and staff like that.

After driving by this new place a few times, the bf and I decided to take a walk over there after dinner to check it out and pick up some baklava. Upon entering, I was impressed with the décor and different variety of baklava — tempting enough to sit down. However, upon a less than friendly exchange with the cashier, we decided to just stick with the original plan and takeout. We got 2 of the pistachio and 2 of the cream baklava. I initially enjoyed the cream baklava, but was disgusted to find a white hair in it. Ick. After getting over the disgust, ate the pistachio one to find it to be dry. All in all, probably will never go back. First impressions make or break an experience for me and finding a hair in food is a big no-no.
