Love this place… Go there for lunch every week or 2… I went yesterday and had the best buffalo chicken pizza I’ve had in a long time! They do a nice job and are friendly!

Prices were fair. Wings average. Pizza was not good. Crust was bland and seemed as though it was a frozen crust. Sauce was tasteless and very little cheese was on top. Service was fast. Maybe too fast because flavors definitely suffered

Absolutely the worst pizza I’ve ever had! Thick dry tasteless crust with hardly any sauce and very little cheese and toppings! AVOID this poor excuse of a pizzeria waste of money and a super let down!!!

We had avoided this place for probably at least the last two years after receiving a pizza that was not fully cooked and falling apart. Recently we noticed that they were now«under new management.» So it was time to order a redemption pizza. And redeem themselves they did! Our standard for comparison purposes is a cheese pizza with sausage, mushrooms, peppers, onions and meatballs. We ordered a 12 cut rectangular(12“X17″) that cost $ 19.05 before tax. Obviously, with this amount of toppings we don’t frequent pizzerias that advertise«thin crust» or «New York style» pizza. The crust was thick enough to support our toppings and fully cooked. There was a sufficient amount of each topping to taste the flavor of each of them. All of the toppings were chopped or crumbled small enough to be evenly distributed over all of the pizza. The sausage had a nice fennel flavor and called out to us to try a hot sausage sandwich in the near future. This is primarily a take-out place. I think they still had a couple of tables inside, but I was caught off guard as I entered because the door that I used in the past to enter was no longer in use and the register was now located just inside the door where I now entered. Our pizza was ready at the designated time. Needless to say, we are once again pleased with Mama’s Express and will be patronizing them once again.

I have been a long time customer of Mama’s. However, last Friday I called an order in at 4:47 and was told it would be ready in 20 – 25 minutes. My husband arrived within that time period and was told that there wasn’t any such order(by the same woman that took the order). He called me for confirmation and after several go arounds, I heard a man say«oh a woman with the same name just came in and picked up that order.» Really? We were in a rush as we were going to a concert at SPAC. No apology was offered nor were we offered anything else. We ended up going to Villa Pizza in the Clifton Country Mall, whose pizza is, in my opinion, much better. We frequented Mama’s as they are very close to our house but as this is the second time they’ve «lost» or «given away» our order, we will now be going somewhere else.

Ordered take-out as I was in a rush to get home from the office with dinner. The order was ready and waiting for me. Nothing fancy this time around; pepperoni pizza and cheesy garlic sticks. The pizza was decent. I’ve had far better, but it was good. I prefer a zestier sauce, but liked the thin crust. The cheesy garlic sticks were nothing more than a sauceless cheese pizza cut into strips, with pizza sauce on the side for dipping. I was fine with that, but aside from a light buttery flavor there was not much too them. Everyone agreed they needed way more garlic. All in all, it was decent, and priced appropriately. I didn’t have to wait, which was a bonus.(Too many places in town underestimate the time needed to fill orders.)

Take out from Mama’s Express was less than remarkable. Portion sizes were above average. Pizza crust was bland, and not much happening in the cheese/sauce department as far as taste goes. Wings were fair. I’m not sure if its legal to call wings greasy, I mean, they are wings after all, but these were swimming in a pool of 90% grease/10% sauce by the time I opened the takeout container. Blue cheese sauce was a low point as well. So…convenient — yes, quality — not so much, possible return — maybe in another year.

I stopped here recently for some takeout. Located just east of the Northway off Exit 8, Mama’s Express offers good pizza and Italian American favorites at fair prices($ 5.59-$ 14.99). The menu has pizza, calzones, subs, burgers, fried food, salads, Italian dinners, and drinks from the Coke cooler. Several varieties of thick sheet pizza are available by the slice. The place is a basic«hole in the wall» with an open kitchen and seating along the windows. Because there was no A/C and only plug-in fans in the kitchen and waiting area, «it’s gettin’ hot in here so take off all your clothes…» Seriously, it was around 90 degrees inside the place, so I waited outside. I used an Entertainment Coupon(BOGO action) and ordered my favorite Buffalo Chicken Sub($ 7.99) and Baked Ziti with Sausage($ 7.99) served with salad and garlic bread. The Buffalo Chicken Sub(chicken tenders, hot wing sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion, & chunky bleu cheese dressing) was very good as usual. The Baked Ziti was baked in a foil container with sauce, ricotta & cheese blend, large sausages, topped with mozzarella cheese, very filling. The salad had a lot of iceberg and the garlic bread was seasoned and buttered toasted sub rolls. The counter service here was good. I wouldn’t wanna be working under that intense heat all day.
