This was my first time trying the popular Southern delicacy known as Chicken & Waffles, and I liked it! I mean the combination does sound a little odd, but when you have a couple of pieces of delicious buttermilk-battered fried chicken, place them on top of a yummy red velvet waffle(think red velvet cake), drizzle it all with sweet bourbon maple syrup, then add some sides like okra & tomatoes and decadent mac & cheese, and finally top it off with a s’more dessert… Cray cray is what you get(which is something that’s hard to find in Kazakhstan, except at weddings and party after release from former Soviet«rehabilitation» camp #justsaying)! Many thanks to SoCo for putting this together for us. The service was very attentive and friendly, but there were a few details I arranged with management in advance that the staff wasn’t made aware of(note to self for future Cray Cray events). Also, many thanks to everyone who made it out. I’m glad you had a good time! P. S. Honorable mention to Chun M. for bringing those cray cray almond cookies! Those cookies totally threw my diet off. I mean I budgeted for the calories from the SoCo meal, but not from those cookies. ;-)

Jason is da Man of all events. Thank you again, seriously. ~Hugs to Kazakh~ Love the neighborhood, easy to find parking and SoCo is a neat place to be at. Cozy summer room seating on the back of the restaurant, looooots of food and tons of laughs. Finger-licking syrupy goodness — yep, that was done! Battle for breasts — yep, that too. Cookies and hand-fed desserts — oh, my gaaaaaawd… (someone send me a name of that bakery) Wish waiters would split bill, but we managed anyways.

Dang, Jason, keep cranking out these fantastic UYE’s! Great turnout, seeing and meeting all dem Unilocalers. Nice choice of venue, a super menu and good company always equals a great time to be had by all! The restaurant staff took very good care of us as well. But the food? Seriously rolled out of there and I’m still full this morning tasting red velvet waffle on my breath. Interesting that everybody has their own way of eating Chicken & Waffles. Knife & fork, piece of chicken, piece of waffle, toe dip in syrup, drown in syrup… and then there’s MY way: Got home late, had to get up early this morning and going to be a butt dragging day. Despite that, I had a great time and looking forward to the next episode of Jason’s Cray Cray Brooklyn! (Saved my 200th review just for you, Jason!)
