Terrible customer service and outrageous prices. They know they have a monopoly on grocery stores in the area and they take full advantage. Produce is marked sometimes 200% higher than key foods($ 4 for a single red pepper) yet they won’t take a second to help you find something. The checkers are consistently rude. Like another Unilocaler, I noticed that a few items have been rung up at incorrect prices, but I’m always given attitude when I ask them to verify. My boyfriend(a customer) purchased beer and the checker said«ring it up» without explanation. He asked why and she rudely told him«RINGITUP!» After 2 tries another checker told him the woman isn’t 21 and can’t ring up alcohol. What the fuck?!? If this is your rule, be accommodating to customers or at the very least explain the situation. Walk the extra blocks to another grocer. Done giving this place my service.

I’ve been a weekly customer for 15 years but mainly because there is a shortage of «normal» grocery stores in this neighborhood and while they now have a somewhat better selection, they are somehow just as expensive as the nearby fancy bodegas. What prompted this review was the treatment I received when questioning the price of something; they were selling Ball canning jars for FOURTEEN dollars EACH. Since I needed to get some that day, I asked them to double check the price at which point I received a bunch of shrugs and a response of «that’s how much it is, do you want it or not?» I asked them to double check and showed them examples on the Internet… more shrugs. Needless to say I didn’t buy them there and found the identical item for 99 cents at the fancy foodtown in Williamsburg. There’s some irony for you. Customer service is everything.

This supermarket has been completely revamped from the Associated days. They have many options for gourmet and organic eaters and a good selection of fresh food. Prices have gone up somewhat but that is happening everywhere.

Beware: the last three times I’ve shopped here I’ve been rung up with the wrong prices on at least one or two items(always higher). I don’t think it’s accidental and most people probably don’t notice or check. I’ll be filing a report with the BBB. If you shop here be sure to check the prices at checkout.

this place has been an ASSOCIATED, KEYFOOD, and now WAVERLYGOURMETMARKET over the past half decade. quality of fruits, produce, and CPG are quite good. haven’t tried their deli. cashiers on the other hand — really depends on who you get. some of the most polite people work there, or like this morning, you get a miss YOLANDA who woke up on the wrong side of the bed. whatever, it’s not TRADERJOE’S i suppose. go for sales. don’t expect much in terms of customer service.

I don’t understand why this business had to be readded to Unilocal when all we had to do was change the name — which I attempted to do by emailing Unilocal with receipts and photos of proof of name change. Anyway, same staff, but the selections themselves have been slightly upgraded. The prices reflect this, too, but it’s not an insurmountable thing. Waverly Gourmet is aight. Long live Associated!

Just love this place. They have(almost) everything I need all the time. Produce section is small but pretty thorough. Selection on dry goods is stellar. And they even had whole organic turkeys the day before Thanksgiving! Deli is great, but beware they close up shop before the store itself closes. My only complaint is that they close kinda early at 9pm.

I can’t believe I had to add this business to Unilocal.I was here last year, and again just today. Looks like the upper-floor residential construction hasn’t progressed in the year gone by, so it might be discouraging from the street. Don’t sweat, inside is a full-fledged gourmet market.
