The postcards and knick knacks on the walls make it look kinda trashy. If you don’t say you want it well done, then the hamburgers are under cooked. And then they still occasionally forget and screw that up. The fries are good. The barbecue is passable. The ribs are good. Great beer selection. Service is hit and miss, sometimes bordering on indifference and rudeness.

i was pretty disappointed with my meal at the hamburger ranch. i ordered the brisket platter. it was fifteen dollars and change and came with 2 side dishes. the problem was that the brisket part, consisted of 8 pieces of meat about the size of my thumb. it was barely enough meet for a little kid’s lunch box sandwich. after seeing a bunch of meals come out of the kitchen that had plenty of food that looked pretty good too, i was flabbergasted. when the waitress put my food down i said«is that it?» i’m a petite lady who never finishes and entire meal in one sitting(ok, hardly ever.) i don’t ever recall saying«is that it» to a plate of food in my life. the waitress beat it out of there as fast as she could and answered«yes» over her shoulder. clearly, my reaction was not unique. i should’ve just sent it back but of course i was starving. the brisket was pretty good and so was the mac & cheese and potato salad sides. my friend had a veggie burger and he seemed to enjoy it. i have to say, that chintzy brisket platter was just too over the top for me. and the waitress running away like that; nope. i’m not gonna tell you not to go here but i will say there are probably some better choices.

I really enjoyed this place. We were seated quickly. The margaritas were great! I got the pulled pork, veggies, and onion rings. The music on the outside deck was nice too. Thank you Hmbrgr Ranch for a good time! Good Job!

We found ourselves on N Redwood Highway on our way home from a trip up north to Mendocino. We initially stopped here to use the restroom. Since it was also lunch time, we decided to stay for the burgers! I immediately honed in on the fungi burger, which comes topped with jack cheese and sautéed mushrooms. My burger was cooked perfectly(medium) and covered in mushrooms. So many mushrooms they couldn’t be contained on the burger. Also included were the standard lettuce, tomato, and pickles. Still on vacation, and throwing caution(aka healthy eating) to the wind, I enjoyed my burger AND crispy and delicious onion rings on the side. They’ve got three kinds of BBQ sauce, ready and waiting on each table. 1) Spicy, 2) sweet, and 3) a more tangy vinegar-based. I liked the spicy. Decent service and prices.

My wife & I had an early dinner at Hamburger Ranch &BBQ on Sunday 17 April. We arrived after 4PM and were surprised to find the restaurant about half full, but by the time our food arrived most diners had left. We both ordered the brisket plate($ 14.95) — my wife had the baked beans and sweet potato fries for sides and I opted for the coleslaw and chili for sides. The first slice of brisket I tried was dry and I was ready to cross Hamburger Ranch &BBQ off my eatery list, but it must have been an outlier as the other slices were juicy and tender. My wife agreed her brisket slices were also juicy and tender. There are several sauces to choose among including: sweet, hot, and a Carolina style sauce. These are I assume homemade as they are in generic plastic containers with different colored tops: brown, red, and yellow, respectively, to indicate which is which. The Carolina sauce was my favorite. I was a little disappointed at the serving size of the brisket, but the side dishes were ample and made for a filling meal. My wife liked her sweet potato fries as she said they were soft and not fried to a crisp. She gave me the dregs of her baked beans and they were delicious. The sauce with the beans had a nice BBQ flavor as if they had been cooked inside the smoker, and there was plenty of bits of meats mixed in with the beans. My coleslaw was a bit on the sweet side for my taste, but a pallet refresher after my side of chili. Since this was my first visit to Hamburger Ranch &BBQ I am not sure if my side of chili was typical, or from an outlier batch. This chili was spicy — and this from a guy that adds some type of hot sauce to everything but pancakes. The service was friendly and prompt. We will return and explore some of the other BBQ items on the menu — perhaps the ribs.

Nothing like cookin’ it yourself in your backyard but don’t waste your time or money on any other North Bay BBQ restaurants. Easily the best, and pick up a bottle of their barbecue sauce on your way out. Brisket plate w mixed veggies and sweet potato fries is the way to go.

The brisket is to die for! Hands down the best, I have ever had. Stopped here while driving down 101 heading home, and I am so glad I did. The side orders I had were a little plain, I think it’s because they are trying to serve low sodium,(Mac and cheese and red beans and rice) it’s ok though there is salt, pepper and ground garlic at the table, so that fixed it! The service was excellent and fast!

NOTRECOMMENDED: Gross and expensive. This place was a terrible experience on every level. The food was cold, not freshly made, and almost inedible. The mac n cheese in particular was literally under a quarter inch of oil… And Luke warm. The brisket was cold, and bland. Normally I wouldn’t mind but the prices were insanely expensive… On par with a high end restaurant. The customer service was friendly.

«Hamburger Ranch has the best ribs in the world! This is casual dining at its finest. The ribs are slow cooked to perfection. They are served plain, and accompanied with an assortment oh house-made BBQ sauces that are truly memorable. The price is very modest. The desserts are fantastic as well.» Finish Your Draft

The house that subpar, mediocre, uninspired barbecue built. This place would be closed within weeks of opening in the south. The brisket was incredibly tough, lacking any kind of flavor. The Mac and cheese was just noodles with butter — if you taste cheese in them, perhaps you’re operating on some higher plane of existence. The baked beans are OK and have bits of that shoe leather brisket in them to break up the the texture of the beans. The pulled pork is passable and The only thing I can recommend here if you absolutely have to come here. The décor is going to ask and what you’d expect from a California bbq place-band the outdoor seating and the a is quite nice. The staff are all friendly and efficient. The beer list is pretty great for a barbecue joint. As I write this, some older gentleman just brought his friends here from out of town and I raving about the place. I don’t know who I feel worse for: the friends who have just been bamboozled or the gentleman who is soon to be without two friends.

Why is it I show up at 11:30 am wanting eggs and toast and be told no breakfast is being served? Watching the woman seated next to me enjoying her fried eggs. Really is it that hard to Crack a egg after what ever time breakfast is stopped being served? Last time this happened people after I was refused breakfast, sat down and enjoyed there breakfast. Come on, how exclusive is hamburger ranch.

We went by our usual turnoff in Cloverdale in order to find the Hamburger Ranch. The name sounds strange and intriguing at the same time. We were ready for a stretch after driving for a couple of hours and found the old red building very welcoming. A throw back to simpler days. The décor is diner style and the knotty pine walls are covered with post cards that customers have mailed back with their mostly rave reviews. DH kept with a simple order of a hamburger and fries. I could not pass up the opportunity for my favorite Boont Amber Ale on tap. My BLT was long on the bacon with the fresh tomato and iceberg lettuce being almost an afterthought. The sandwich came on sourdough, but rather thin slices so the whole sandwich somewhat fell apart. Happy with my choice of baked beans. Some of the best ever Very flavorful with lots of bacon. Definitely homemade and not from a can. Desserts, mostly pies, sounded tempting … no room. If we are ever in the Cloverdale area again, we would make sure to stop here.

Food was decent, service sucked. Waitress was more interested in talking then working. No refills, wrong drinks and my niece said chili burger was too spicy and we had to walk it to waitress as she did not check to see if our food was ok, then to hear staff complaining about my niece not being happy. Then waitress gets reg cheeseburger to my niece yet still charges me for chili burger. Then waitress argues with me about this matter,. I will not be back nor refer anyone to this restraunt..

Came here on our way back from Oregon. It was about 11am so the waitress let us choose lunch or breakfast. Some of us chose breakfast others got lunch. Pet friendly outside patio area. The food was okay but nothing amazing. I wanted chicken thighs but waitress said they didn’t have any, so I settled for pulled chicken. It appeared to look similar to cat food & the taste wasn’t much better even when I smothered it in bbq sauce. It was mushy & pretty flavorless. Disappointing. The good: The butterscotch pie dessert was delish it came in a glass cup. The chili was spicy and that was good. Potato wedges were also on point. The reason for 4 stars, everything else was pretty good, just not the pulled chicken but it was saddening because I was craving bbq. Pancakes here are AMAZING& huge! A lot of places have big pancakes but these were freakin delicious fluffy hot perfect amazing. The bacon was a bit gross because the center was raw & outside was burnt but they exchanged it for sausage without issue. The service was great & friendly so that’s another reason for the 4 stars. I’d definitely recommend coming here for breakfast, chili, dessert, potato wedges, we didn’t get to try the macaroni because it wasn’t ready yet. I wouldn’t recommend the pulled chicken, maybe if I was in the area again I’d try the ribs.

We were on our way to medocino, and didn’t expect to find this highly recommended joint on the way. Everyone here was so friendly, and the food was mouthwatering. We got a burger and ribs, and I must say they were both everything that is good in life. The burger was perfectly cooked and had a nice char to it. The ribs were super tasty, paired with their bbq sauce . We had some pies, the butterscotch and apple pie. Those two were perfect also . I’m defiantly stoping back here in our way home. Too bad it’s kinda far from where I live or else I would come here a lot more . I definitely recommend this place to anyone that likes good food

My boo and I were heading north for a small weekend getaway which ended up being a total bust, but at least we discovered this worthy pit stop out in the middle of nowhere. It’s quite simple, but the food was immensely satisfying. Right when both of our stomachs started growling, I looked on Unilocal for anything that could catch my eye and we happened to be approaching Cloverdale. Perfect! I’m glad I turned down the In-n-Out that we passed which, of course, I had strongly considered. They have a huge outdoor patio space under a tent and plenty of seating inside surrounded by old wood and postcards. I ordered a half rack of ribs with potato wedges, and my partner ordered the brisket with macaroni and cheese. The meat was rich in flavor, but not so much falling off the bone — a little bit dry, although with added BBQ sauce I really didn’t mind. Potato wedges were exactly what I’d have wanted. Hot and crispy but mushy potato right beneath. I also tried the brisket which was tender and tasty and dipped some wedges in the artery-clogging mac and cheese — sooooooo good. We did need to add a little salt to the super creamy macaroni. Overall, we totally enjoyed the time it took getting off our path and stopping by Hamburger Rang and BBQ. The service was pleasant and attentive. Food — Amurican, delicious, unhealthy, and anti-vegan. Ambiance — Americun. Super casual and laid back. Service — Friendly Would I come here again on another road trip? Yes.
