Jo Beth’s Sugar Shack

I ordered my wedding cake from the Sugar Shack, and it was delicious. I got several compliments on how wonderful the cake tasted.
I was disappointed in the decoration, because it wasn’t really how I ordered it. I had called the day before to verify, and everything on my order was correct, but the cake was not decorated as ordered. I had ordered ivory buttercream with lavender decorations, and the whole cake was airbrushed ivory. It was still a beautiful cake, but I did miss having my lavender accents.
I called the Sugar Shack when I returned from my honeymoon, and they explained they had problems with their supplier and were not able to dye the buttercream and had to spray it, and the young lady who decorated my cake took total responsibility for missing the direction on the lavender accents, and she gave me a store credit to make up for the error.
Overall, I am very pleased with the Sugar Shack, my cake did taste fabulous and it was beautiful even though not what I expected. I am satisfied with the customer service I received, and will be using the Sugar Shack for my next cake purchase.

We ordered several varieties of cupcakes for my parent’s 50^th wedding anniversary party and received rave reviews on the flavor from guests. The only reason I am going 4 and not 5 stars is that the icing was a little skimpy. But that was just my expectation and not something we discussed with the order, so I would just be sure to make that request next time.

I am super disappointed with the Sugar Shack, which partially is my fault; I had my hopes set way high. My interaction with the Sugar Shack began when I embarked on a quest to find some ice cream cake, my kryptonite. Ironically, I was recommended the Shack by the local Dairy Queen. For some sinful reason, they don’t carry their renowned ice cream cakes at any of the Clovis locations. So, only slightly discouraged, I made my way to the Shack. It took me a while to finally catch the store open; they close at 4 and I get off work at 430. Sucks for me. Anyways, I eventually got my cake after waking up eagerly one Saturday morning. This is where I erred; I had placed placed a lot of hype into this moment. After living in Clovis for a year and a half, I should know better.
The Shack’s ‘ice cream’ cake is really just a cake. They place a thin, think half-​inch, band of icing/​ice cream in between two thick slabs of chocolate marble. The marble wasn’t bad, but that’s not what I wanted. I wanted ice cream cake. That is what i ordered and thought I was getting.
It’s fine if you don’t have something I’m looking for. Just please don’t pretend you do.

The best donuts in town! The apple fritters are crazy good and the gigantic chocolate cinnamon rolls are to die for… and beautifully made cakes

I worked with Jo Beth’s Sugar Shack for my daughter’s birthday party. They helped me design a custom sheet cake for her party. They did very good work and the cake did not break the bank. I think the cake itself tasted very good (we had marble cake) and the buttercream icing was on par with others I have had. Overall, I had a very solid experience with this business. I have yet to try their other specialties, but will update when I do.
