Very nice experience. Small but elegant. Looks like it should require a dress code but it does not. Excellent food and service. Thank you Heather.

LOVE the atmosphere in this place! And the food is delish! And when it comes out it’s also really gorgeous looking! My husband and went here for an anniversary and it was amazing. Took my niece here and she loved it! Had a good experience each time. Yes the wine is pricey. But the food is mouthwatering orgasmic! Love returning for just the delishisness and the ambience. Just make sure u will be ready spend a lil more than u anticipate, but it’s worth it in my opinion. Love the garlic bread that is made to order. So yummy! And it not on the menu by the way. So make sure to get it. The desserts are amazing as well!

My wife and I ate here tonight. For service I give a generous 3 stars. We asked our waitress twice for bread. She stated that they were baking it. We never got it. ½ the way through our meal I noticed customers coming in after us getting bread so I got up and asked the bartender to get us some. He went directly to our waitress and told her. It was on our table within 10 seconds and was Luke warm… sauce a little cool. I ordered the meatloaf. Since my wife was raving about this place, I saw no need to read the reviews. Wellllll, the guy two reviews ago was correct about the meatloaf. It was soooo dry. Don’t get it. The strawberry salad was excellent 5 stars. Meatloaf 2 stars. Bread, if out of the oven 4 stars. The bread was in a garlic sauce and was good if hot. My wife had the beef medallions. She rated them 4 stars. She also had the triple chocolate cheesecake dessert. She rated it 3 stars. Overall we give the place 3 stars.

Wow! I don’t even know where to begin with this restaurant. My boyfriend and I went to dinner at Satay Bistro on Saturday for Inlander Restaurant Week and I was blown away from the minute we walked in the door. This was our first time at the restaurant and it is eclectic and beautiful when you walk in and see all of the decorations. They also have a wine cellar downstairs that our waiter took us down to see which was gorgeous! There is one large table down there that you can reserve which would be so much fun! All of the staff were extremely friendly from the moment we arrived and the food was out of this world! We took a slight detour from the restaurant week menu at the beginning and started with the Red Chili Sea Scallops w/Mango Salsa which were divine! They were cooked perfectly and they were so buttery — DELICIOUS!!! From there, I had the Gorgonzola Pear Salad and he had the Sea Bass Bisque — both were fantastic. I was actually quite surprised by how large the salad was for a starter and how many goodies were in it. I would definitely order this off of their main menu! For the main event, I had the Bacon-Wrapped Filet Medallions w/sour apple onion jam, caramelized pear and fig risotto and baby root vegetables. OMG! OMG! OMG! Wow! This was so delicious! The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare, the onion jam on top with the bacon and… WOW! Just fabulous! The risotto and the veggies were also quite tasty. The BF ordered the Black Tea-Smoked Duck Breast w/Baby Bok Choy, Fried Red Beets and a Bordeaux Reduction. He thought this was amazing as well and although I have not had much duck in my life I thought it was delicious too! For dessert, I ordered the Fried Bread Pudding w/Dark Rum Glaze, Sugar Dust and Whipped Cream and YUM is all I can say! He ordered the Triple Chocolate Cheesecake-Flourless Cake, Chocolate Cheesecake, Chocolate mousse and a Raspberry Port Reduction. We both agreed that this was AMAZING too!!! I am not typically a chocolate cheesecake fan but with the mousse and the raspberry reduction it was perfect! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone! We seriously could not have asked for a better experience between the ambiance, the service and the food-it was pure perfection on every level!!!

We went for«Inlander» restaurant week because the menu sounded amazing! Reservation for 7:45 pm… Weren’t seated until 8:05. 3 course meal special. Hubby had chicken lollipop, I had pear Gorgonzola salad. Both very good! Main course — he had fillet wrapped in bacon. Ordered med rare — more medium… Roasted beets awesome! I ordered the lamb(med rare) and sea bass. Sea bass — WOW! I am picky about fish and never order in restaurants! Melted in your mouth! But lamb was blue rare — should have sent it back but I didn’t. Dessert was good. Would go back — great food but messed up the meat on both main courses — hence the«3» rating. Great flavor but was maybe just too busy that night for them to get it right?

The atmosphere is great, aside from the loud lounge music. The music was at a level that required the volume of voices to be increased; multiply that to every table in the place and you have a very loud dining experience. It was challenging to hear the people I was dining with. I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a finicky eater; that being said, there were not many options for me to choose from. I decided on the meat loaf because it was not as weird or «fusion» as other choices. The meatloaf came with a wine sauce, which I asked not be put on the meal. There was also Yukon purple potatoes. When my plate came to me there was cooked swiss chard on the bottom of the potatoes on the bottom of meatloaf. The swiss chard was mushy and slimy, the purple potatoes tasted as if there was no less than half a cup of sugar combined into them, and the meatloaf was so dry it was almost inedible. Because I had spent $ 20 on the meal I went ahead and ate the meat loaf but didn’t touch more than a bite the potatoes or swiss chard. I might have told the waitress that I was displeased with my meal; however, throughout the entire course of our meal she only came to our table about three times. Also, there is nothing else on the menu that I would have wanted to eat in place of it. When the waitress did return and noticed that I had quite a bit of food left on my plate she asked if how I liked it. I replied to the waitress that I didn’t like it very much, at which she began chuckling. When the waitress noticed that I wasn’t returning the chuckle, she stop laughing and asked me if I was serious. I responded that I was serious and didn’t really enjoy my meal. I explained that the meatloaf was very dry, at which she stated, oh you should have have the sauce on it. The waitress then asked if I would like dessert or have something else brought to me, I replied with no and she simply turned and left. I thought for sure that when I got my bill I would have a portion of it, if not all of my meal taken off, however that was not the case. I spent $ 20 on the worst plate of meat loaf I’ve ever had! I will definitely not be returning, the food is overpriced, the wait staff seems to be overly involved with people they think they can sell expensive wine to, and don’t seem to be too concerned about making sure that their customers are happy and will return. I’m not exactly sure where all the 5 star ratings came from but I would not recommend this restaurant.

My boyfriend and I decided to go here for our 1st anniversary dinner since we’ve never had a fine dining experience and based on the reviews this restaurant seemed perfect. We didn’t want white table clothes, or a restaurant where proper eating techniques were necessary. It was however very romantic and every component to this place helped take part in that. The lighting was dimmed perfectly and the music wasn’t too loud or too quiet, and it fit with the environment of the restaurant. Our server was very, very friendly and did an excellent job. I wish I could remember her name, because I’d highly recommend her! We ordered a bottle of Arbor Crest Merlot($ 31) and she provided us with some very useful information about their winery in Spokane and how they have outdoor wine tastings with live music in the summer.(this will definitely be a must on our bucket list now) The wine was delicious, my boyfriend doesn’t drink wine and when he has we’ve just picked up a $ 10.00 bottle from the store… but that given he said it was the best that he’s had and he could drink it everyday. Now, the food was outstanding! I had the stuffed chicken($ 25) which was perfectly cooked and stuffed with Boursin cheese and mushrooms, it was served with Yukon potatoes gratin which has gooey and melty fontina cheese throughout. I’m currently eating my leftovers for lunch two days later and it still tastes great! My boyfriend has the bistro steak which had an espresso rub on it, it really added so much depth and flavor to the perfectly cooked steak. I tried a bite and loved it, and I don’t eat red meat very often at all and never grew up liking steak. I’d however order this dish any day and every server that came by said that it was their favorite thing on the menu and a great choice. The highlight for us would definitely be the scratch made bread pudding for dessert($ 7) you get a lot of dessert for a little and it was to die for! Our experience was as good as it gets and for a nice night out at under $ 100, it really can’t be beat! This restaurant definitely stands apart in coeur d’alene, you won’t even mind that there’s not a view of the lake. Here you pay for quality and not the view!

Christmas Eve Dinner was wonderful. We had the fondue. It was spicy but great with lots of items to dip. We had the steak and lobster which had a great mushroom sauce. Wish there was less steak and a whole lobster. Service was quick and friendly. Our waiter Larry did a great job and we even saw him outside shoveling the sidewalk.

The atmosphere was romantic, the service was very friendly and educated about the food and menu and was more than happy to provide information about how food items were cooked and where the ingredients came from. We were pleasantly surprised that every item we chose from the drinks, appetizers and dinner had wonderful flavors and was cooked perfectly for each item. We rarely are able to provide this compliment to restaurants and have never locally.

What a great find on my quick work trip to CdA! Thanks, Unilocalers! It took me a while to pick a sake’tini, but settled on the Ha-Olé drink with peach, grapefruit and basil. Wasn’t as delicious as I was hoping but still good. If I came back for one dish, it would be the ahi spoons. Such a burst of flavor! The dill garlic bread is incredible. I wish I could have shared it with others, since it was a bit much for one person. Tiger prawn salad wasn’t as passion fruity as I wound have liked, but still amazed by how much lettuce was packed into that little bowl. Pump up the passion fruit flavor, please! Pesto pasta was great(always love me some fresh pesto and fresh pasta) but I was so full from everything else I’m not sure I enjoyed it as much as I should have. I’ll definitely be back if I’m in the area!

On a 1 – 10 Scale*: Food = 9 | Service = 10 | Ambiance = 6 * 5 = so-so, i.e. neither good nor bad. In Ten Words: Grass-fed beef, organic veggies, in-house everything makes for excellent meals! FOOD: Had the 5-ounce filet mignon lunch entrée, which was dressed in a chimichurri sauce and accompanied with roasted veggies and goat cheese mashed potatoes. Beef was cooked exactly medium-rare as requested, was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and super flavorful. Even better than cuts I’ve had at high-end restaurants like Morton’s and Fleming’s. SERVICE: The server was very warm, welcoming, well informed about the restaurant and the food, and attentive. I’d give six stars if I could! AMBIANCE: On the outside, it looks like a somewhat dumpy, casual mom-and-pop shop. The décor inside is interesting — to put it politely — and there’s a wine cellar of sorts downstairs. At the very least, it’s clean, which is(personally) key. I would definitely revisit this restaurant, but not because it’s the best looking restaurant I’ve been to. VALUE: Don’t let the unassuming exterior fool you; this place is a gem! If I ever find myself in Coeur d’Alene again, I would come back, even if the menu items went up a couple dollars.

The chicken satay appetizer had an addictively delicious peanut sauce, the Asian salad with grilled tiger prawns was awesome(the mango was perfectly ripe), the homemade pesto pasta was fantastic, and the bread pudding dessert was one of the best I’ve ever had(including multiple versions of it from New Orleans). My waitress Heather was about as friendly and helpful as I’ve ever experienced. The setting was high class and romantic(despite what it looks like from the outside), and the price was right — $ 100 for 2 people for five courses and 3 drinks. Hard to imagine a better dining experience, unless you had a view of the lake.

We were very disappointed in the price we paid for the amount of food we received! The entrée looked more like a portion of a appetizer. It looked like they literally took one scallop and cut it into four pieces! Chicken was dry. We will not be returning unfortunately:(

First things first– you MUST get the bread pudding. Our server described it perfectly: «heavenly» Okay– so for the review of the restaurant. The atmosphere is awesome! We went here for date night and it was perfect and special but also relaxing and fun. We sat on the beautiful patio next to a fire listening to live soul music. The romance meter was at an all time high. We had the cheese fondue to start and it was amazing! Perfect appetizer to share for 2. It was light and delicious but we didn’t feel completely stuffed before the first course. I ordered the seabass and hubs had the stuffed chicken. Both were delicious! Everything at Satay is made from scratch and the flavors are so unique. Definitely a culinary experience! Again– we ended with the bread pudding and it was the best decision I’ve made in a while. You will not regret ordering it! Overall– Satay is a great restaurant with delicious food, amazingly friendly staff, and a cool setting that is perfect for any occasion. Thank you Satay!

This is a very welcoming place! Our server(Heather) was exceptional. She helped us on all aspects of the food and drink. And when it came time for dessert didn’t pressure us to order(very cool especially when you’re full). My wife had the duck(phenomenal) and I had the salmon special(see pics) which were awesome! The homemade bread with garlic/dill sauce came with the meal and was very yummy! We’ll be back!

Our 4 some went to dinner and had an amazing meal. I requested that the chefs select my meal for me, and I was blown away. Rob,(the owner) was there and prepared a trio entrée(that was not even on the menu) that was beyond fantastic. A combination of rack of lamb, fillet mignon, and sea scallops melted in my mouth. The flavors were unforgettably distinct and the portions were perfect. If that wasn’t enough, they also spoiled us with a new cheesecake that they are thinking of adding to their menu. I highly recommend this restaurant, and request Rob to prepare something for you. Their prices are far below what you would expect to pay for a meal like this. Treat yourself to a dinner you will never forget!
