Well I’m usually a very nice customer when I review, but I just couldn’t resist on this. I hope a manager reads this because I was thoroughly displeased. I sat down at the bar while my wife went to the restroom and by the time she came out I didn’t even have waters. Come on, it’s 90 degrees out, gimme a water. Then, when they do come, the bartender is MIA and I can’t even get a straw to go with my cup of ice. When we finally decide on a beer, it’s been too late, we must wait another few minutes on our MIA bartender. Meanwhile, a couple down the bar have had empty glasses the entire time. Now, the beers on the left side of the bar won’t even pour and they can’t figure out why, so they just decide to not offer them. I would avoid this place if possible, it just happened to be the first place we saw passing through. The service truly is dismal.

I came here for lunch. First, they had outside seating. There was only one other table that had patrons. Waiter never acknowledged I was there. I moved to an inside table; server was slow, but did finally come over. Ordered a burger. Food was slow to arrive. It was an ok burger, not great. The server was very nice, once he acknowledged that I was there.

Sad that they don’t tell you they use the Italian kitchen next door for their food. Fish and Chips were weak. Very very small. $ 16 for small piece.

This bar was a lot of fun! Everything was bicycle themed and the bartenders were fun to talk with. We even ended up going out with them once this bar closed for the night!

It pains me to agree with so many other reviewers because while OUR bartender was funny, attentive, and awesome, his co-worker was obviously hung over, completely uninterested in helping out, chatting with his friend, and after a time, being super creepy with a newly on duty and untrained female bartender. If Jon Taffer were to ever visit this bar, that bro would be fired… Stat. It was so sickening to watch our dude working hard, switching out kegs and taking tables while this complete douche amused himself flipping a tap handle and ducking work at every opportunity. All of these things said, the blue cheese and bacon Mac and cheese was killer and the pizzas are perfect for pubby bar pizza. We’ll be back assuming the dude bro has found alternate employment.

I was very excited to try this taphouse, but was sadly very disappointed and will not be a returning customer. I visited with a group of 5 on a Saturday night and the service was incredibly slow. They made mention of how they were short staffed due to a no show server, which I totally understand! Our waitress did her best given the circumstances. The drink selection was great, but the food was awful. Soggy buns, cold meat and processed chicken patties — overall just very poor quality.

This place is interesting. The décor and ambiance is top notch and you can’t beat the location. Unfortunately the service is a little too laid back and the food is ok. I would have preferred more hustle, but my experience wasn’t bad like other reviews on here. I came here at noon on a Saturday and there were only a couple other tables occupied. My party of two both ordered the fish n’ chips. We didn’t try the beer but the selection looked good. After a while of taking in the décor, we realized there was no kitchen. It turns out this place shares a kitchen with the Italian place next door. This is probably why other reviewers have claimed they waited a long time for food. Two restaurants and one kitchen doesn’t add up. The fish n’ chips were small and slightly overcooked. I posted a photo for y’all. Don’t come here if you are starving, but do come here if you like bikes and beer.

Really good beer selection, the fish and chips were amazing but no mint to make a mojito, the margarita was just ok.

Good Beer selection. Our group was not impressed with the food at all. If you are planning to go for dinner not really worth it. One person got a burger that was a soggy mess stay away from that one. Our food was coming from Tito Macaronis it looked like… I originally thought they might have had their own cook. There are other places with a good beer selection and better food. The ambiance is nice, but is it really worth supporting Hagadone?

Goof selection of beer… food is «decent» for(essentially) bar food. Avoid the Crackling if you know what they are supposed to be… burgers are pretty darn good… and there is a good selection of local beer on tap… Unchained is a good spot to check in for a beer and just hang out with friends and admire the interesting«bike themed» décor or sit outside on the patio and watch the tourists pass by. This is a ‘stop in for sure” as a part of your fun weekend…

Beer selection was epic. Food was good. The bike theme was super fun-unique & fun décor & the bike-powered blender was a fun novelty. Loved the sidewalk seating on such a beautiful evening. Our server needs some training or to find a different kind of work. When we got there I overheard the table next to us getting a refund for a mix up on the order. We never got what sounded like a really good jalapeño dip, but did get charged for it. She was friendly but acted like we were keeping her from talking to her friends. She never asked if we were done, brought us our check and then didn’t check on us until I went up to the bar to get a second drink. We will be back. .. if we get a better server, I’m sure the experience will be awesome!

Living in CDA, us locals are always waiting for what Hagadone has planned next. Replacing the sad, sad version of a dance club(Splash) now we have Unchained Taphouse. Riding our bikes downtown to a bike themed bar/pub there is no where to park your bike; let alone lock it up was sorta of funny — now that our downtown has this great new huge park within steps that everyone fought over(sorry still angry over the baseball park being torn down). The décor is different and cool… and always fun to sit and watch the people walk by downtown on a nice summer day/evening. The menu is very limited… we ordered the pizza, which is ok and pricey for what you get. The service was slow… but the selection of beer was nice. Not sure if we will go back… made for the hotel tourists and just another Hagadone’s attempt to stay in the mix.

Love the theme! Bikes everywhere, and even the bar stools have pedals. I love when a place has personality. Had the elk burger and it was perfect with a nice cold beer. The pork rinds are so dangerously good.

This was a miserable experience during an otherwise great weekend retreat to Coeur d’Alene. While I’d like to think this was an isolated incident, a casual survey of the faces of other restaurant customers and overheard comments(along with watching another table walk out) make me think that at least this past Saturday this place was a total mess. While upon first glance the place was very clean, with soccer on the TVs and a really neat bicycle theme that had a positive vibe, the actual experience of getting drinks and food were horrendous. We came in during the early afternoon, a group of 10, with a relatively uncrowded restaurant(approximately 1⁄3 capacity). We tried to make things easy and ordered systematically with food and drink orders all at once in an attempt to get things moving well. There were two servers, one bartender, and I’m guessing a manager working. We chose a mixture of beers from the menu, one iced tea, and one mixed drink along with a variety of burgers and sandwiches(the menu only has about 9 food items… so this should be pretty easy). Unfortunately the promise to bring water for the entire table went unheeded, and beers were sporadically poured, coming out one or two at a time over a 15 – 20 minute period… that’s right… 20 minutes for 8 drinks with what appeared to be nobody else in the place ordering within a while of us. Our friend with the iced tea waited until almost everyone had their beers served before getting his drink… and waited another 6 or 7 minutes for sweetener. The server tried apologizing, but we watched the bartender walk off and basically stare off in to space or just stand there instead of pouring drinks. It was aggravating. Additionally we were told the blender had broken for the one mixed drink that was ordered… after about half the food had come out and other people had finished their drinks. We were brought the wrong food orders at first, and as the food did come out(again, over a ridiculously long period of time where some folks finished as others’ food was just coming out) we found it to be pretty obviously frozen burger patties and neither very hot or fresh. Eating was also difficult as none of us had flatware or napkins to start with… though they were brought out eventually, and awkwardly as napkins were unceremoniously plopped in our laps as silverware was distributed. Several of our group that had refill orders in ended up canceling them(not a big deal since they weren’t poured over 10 minutes after having been ordered) and we left completely disappointed if not angry over the poor experience. We tried to communicate our displeasure without being rude(we are professionals and not mean people) but this seemed to fall upon the deaf ears of whom we assume was the manager, along with some rather weak attempts at excuses. If the management and staff doesn’t pull their collective stuff together very soon I’d predict this place being shuttered at the end of the season if not sooner which is a shame since the location lends itself to success.

This is tap house is owned by the resort and I was afraid the menu would match the valet guys with funny socks. Outdated & boring was my worst fear. FEARNOT my Unilocaler friends far and wide! The interior is very very hipster, bicycle themed everything, including the pedal-powered blender for anyone strong enough to order a blended drink in this tap house :0) Furniture is amazingly creative with the addition of themed bicycle parts set with the table tops allowing you to dine with gears, cranks and thingy-jobs. Don’t be scurred. The menu… Short, simple, and great explanation with each choice. Over 20 tap handles with a majority from the Inland Northwest. Great choices, awesome cider choices and strange/odd creations. This place has great street access, open patio seating and dining area. Beer selection and its focus on local breweries is impressive. I suggest ordering the tempura asparagus if it’s available. These sound awful as asparagus has a fairly bad rap. The lightly fried tempura and crisp asparagus spear is a great way to experience this vegetable. The I tasted the meat loaf which was impressive to myself and my date. The elk burger is a great option for wild game grilled to perfection and given a house made aioli. The blue cheese Mac n’ Cheese will forever exist in my food porn bank. The pasta was nicely firm, the sauce was smooth, rich and flavorful plus it’s loaded with cubes of bacon. The French dip was most impressive to my tastebuds. The meat is already very well seasoned and moist and thinly sliced and served on a toasted hoagie bun. The au-jus is very flavorful and with a added French onion kick. Our service was quick, attentive and easygoing friendly staff.

Not sure what happened with the other reviewer, but the two times I have been in the service has been excellent! Great beer selection with a lot of local brews on tap. If you like IPA’s I suggest trying out their signature brew Unchained by Slate Creek Brewing. Hoppy, but not overly — want hops try the Mountain Hop also from Slate Creek or for a Belgium twist try the Selkirk Abbey Infidel. Pretzel appetizer is the perfect compliment to beer and love that the pizzas are named for the local trails! For me it doesn’t hurt that it is bicycle themed :) Love, Love, Love!!!
