Excellect in quality and value one of the best mexican restaurants we have been to in all our wide travels. Perfect balanced fresh guacamole and salsa and chips. Nice choice of combination specials. Had the beef chimichanga which has cheese sauce and the beef enchilada which has a great sauce goes perfect with the very nice beans and rice. I suspect everything they make is great.

Went to dinner with my mom and her best friend and then got blown away by how amazing this place was! I really wasn’t expecting much since it was Colfax, but I was soooo wrong! Mom got the carnitas and they were the best I’ve had. I got the tacos mexicanos– steak, chicken, and pastor– also crazy good. I will definitely come back, worth the drive from Des Moines.

Wow! Best Mexican I’ve had in Iowa! Tacos are unbelievable! I’ve also had the carnitas — Fantastic! I feel lucky this is in our town. We used to drive 30 miles to Des Moines for poor Mexican food, now our friends drive 30 miles to small-town Colfax for excellent Mexican!

I was driving cross country and stopped in sleepy Colfax to watch the World Cup. A tiny Mexican restaurant in a small town in the midwest generally means taking up residence in the bathroom, not so, here. While the décor may be a bit cliché, the service and food were top notch. My server was the owner and he could not have been more accommodating. I requested that he omit peppers from my quesadilla and instead he put in broccoli. It was inspired and fantastic. One of the best Mexican meals I have had in years, including several trips to Mexico. While I may not be an authority on Mexican cuisine and I don’t know anything about the restaurant scene around Colfax, do yourself a favor and stop by this charmingly delicious spot. Your stomach will thank you.
