This place is a institution in the College Park area. Good place to go for bagel sandwiches and Chesapeake coffee. The bagels are made fresh daily here. Good place to people watch as the college kids roll in here in their pajamas after a late night out! My go to is always the egg and salami on a bagel

3 weeks into summer vaca and I’m missing this place already! Bagels from here are what gets me out of bed for super early mornings to slave away in Van Munching(jk, business school is fun). Everything bagel, plain bagel, egg bagel, old bay bagel– all amazing because it’s fresh and dat bacon and scallion cream cheese? Mouth sploosh alert. I get a little impatient/hangry waiting for my bagel when it’s packed on weekends but totally worth it once I start stuffing my face. Pride of Baltimore is also delish– smoked salmon with plain cream cheese, swiss cheese, red onion, lettuce, and maters. Oh my jeeeeezuzzzz. Haven’t tried it with the old bay bagel yet but that would be extra Balmor ya know? Parking is easy fo sheezy as long as you have some quarters so don’t sweat it– if you can help it from that ridiculous hangover.

I have been going there since my college days long before the redevelopment of Rt.1. Outside of Jason’s Deli, this is the only other eatery that will not disappoint you. My kids love going there, service is great, they help out with local schools, and the bagels are the best in the immediate region. You can’t beat the deal on the day old bagels. College Park should do more to celebrate this independent business and stop acting like chains have the best interest of college students or local families in their bottom line. Long live, Bagel PLACE!

Love, love, love this place! They have a good selection, everything was fresh, and nicely served. The staff was friendly and there was plenty of tables for seating. I liked that the coffee bar was separate from the food order counter, since this place tends to get packed with lines. Definitely going back.

Great breakfast spot in College Park where you can grab a quick breakfast sandwich and coffee! This was one of my favorite places to go for breakfast during undergrad years. Went there recently and it’s still as good as I remember it :) Street meter parking along the side but limited number of spaces. Very spacious inside and could get very busy during peak hours. Their bagels and ingredients are always fresh, you can’t go wrong with anything you order. They have a variety of bagels so be prepared to narrow down your choices :) My favorites are the sausage, egg and cheese sandwich as well as the Nova platter(Sliced nova salmon, freshly whipped cream cheese, swiss cheese, red onion & tomato served on a bed of crisp green leaf lettuce with your choice of bagel). They also have a separate espresso bar! Coffee is always on point :)

They have a good variety of bagel flavors and sandwiches. My go-to is the chicken salad melt on an everything bagel. It’s pretty packed in there most of the time, so be prepared to just take your stuff to go.

My husband and I enjoy going to the Bagel Place in College Park, Maryland because the customer service and the food are both consistently good each time we go in. During our most recent visit, my husband liked his bagel with pastrami sandwich while I found my barbecue chicken sandwich I had to be tasty. What also helps is that the food is affordable and on our last two trips, my husband and I happened to have the same cashier that was courteous and kind.

Bagel place is the best! If you went to University of Maryland or even live around College Park, you have to come here for breakfast often. The bagels are great and there’s a large variety. Also they have really cheap day old bagels for sale so buy yourself a bag of these because you’ll want some bagels for the week! They have any flavor cream cheese you’d want on a bagel. They also have any sort of egg or deli meat you could think of asking for. The bagels are all extra seedy which definitely makes me a fan. I recommend the everything bagel. I got the pride of Baltimore today — so delicious! The cream cheese, lox, provolone cheese, tomato, onion, and lettuce on an everything bagel makes the perfect bagel sandwich. The lox are fresh and tasty. I’d get this every morning for breakfast if I could! If you’re in College Park, definitely go here for a good bagel. Warning: don’t be alarmed how long the line can get, especially on the weekends. Remember this is a college town so lots of college students go here in the mornings on the weekend. The line will move and it’s well worth the wait.

Bagel Place seems to be there forever, despite all businesses around it have changed so much over the years. And rightfully so… Because this is THE breakfast place that I will never get tired of! The service is fast and friendly, and food is inexpensive. It’s usually pretty busy, particular on the weekends(no surprise), but the line moves really fast. As a working adult, I love Panera; Bagel Place was the Panera equivalence for college kids. Their bagels are all freshly made(you can even see them making bagels while waiting in line), and they have so many choices!

My favorite is the Old Bay Bagel! I haven’t tried anything else yet but look forward to it — just beware of the long lines of college students on weekends! Make sure to say hi to the«Come On Down» guy! :)

I have a soft spot for Bagel a place. My friends and I always came here on weekends when we were at UMD. We came back here recently when walking down memory lane around campus and the bagels are just as good as I remember. I live in Brooklyn now so I am surrounded by amazing bagels and these come pretty darn close. They are the right consistency and the flavor is good. The prices are good and the staff are friendly. Coming back here after many years was so great. Glad the bagels hold up.

Fast, fresh bagels– all you need on a Sunday morning. Now serving gluten free bread and home fries! Typical order consists of an everything bagel toasted, with lox cream cheese, tomato and capers. Capers are available upon request.

This place is very college, which means if you want a bagel on a weekend before 1pm, expect a long line(~20 minutes). For the number of people they have behind the counter, it really shouldn’t take as long as it does. Being across from UMaryland, the tables are usually filled with college students in their PJs. They have a coffee bar that is separate from the food line, if you are just looking for your caffeine fix. The food suffices, but if you are craving a real NY bagel, this is not the place to get it. The bagels are weirdly chewy(as in tough on the outside) and also small, regardless of toasting. They do have numerous toppings and some other non-bagel food. My biggest beef with Bagel Place is that they call lox nova-style salmon. What is with that?

The worst experience, and the one that sent me over the edge, was my last visit when the staff went a little heavy handed on the cream cheese. Had to scrape some off! Ridiculous. I spent my undergrad eating here for breakfast between classes, and it was my early morning go to for those morning shifts at my on campus job. And they put too much cream cheese on after all of these years? The nerve of these people! Seriously tho the old bay bagel is awesome, this place is AWESOME. Friendly, patient staff, delicious bagels, a College Park Staple. Please stay forever.

Open daily at 6:30AM. And I do mean daily. They are closed maybe 3 days a year total. Cops; college students; landscapers; retirees; teenyboppers; athletes – everyone can be found here. Not my absolute favorite bagel however a super value nevertheless. Theirs are a bit on the«doughy» side – I like mine baked a bit harder, but Bagel Place’s bagels are always fresh and toast up quite well. They charge $ 7.69 for their nova platter(bagel, quality smoked salmon, cream cheese, tomato, lettuce and red onion) – I cannot find a better price than that in the DMV. There are plenty of booths and tables to sit at; a large and well maintained coffee station(called expresso bar) features locally-roasted brews from Chesapeake Bay Roasting Company; and, very importantly, adequate staff is always on hand and efficient. Bagel Place is not a chain; it’s just this one family-owned restaurant. I want the Mom and Pops to succeed, so I drive from DC to get my bagels at 6:30AM; it’s worth it. I can fly through CP at that hour and hit all the lights perfectly on Route 1. CP is actually quite serene in the early morning. Unilocaler Timir D. told me about this place in his recent Review of the Day. If not for that, I would have never thought of trying it out. Timir: Thanks a bunch.

This place has completely ruined me with any other bagels in existence. I am obsessed with these bagels and I’ve become so accustomed to how they taste, I don’t wanna eat anything else! My favorite of course is a fresh everything bagel with cream cheese — don’t get fresh bagels toasted!(They taste so much better.) Wish I was in the area more often so I could snag up on some. I also love the bags of 6 day old bagels, but I wish they didn’t sell out so quickly. Highly recommend these bagels to all!

These are the best bagels in the area. Though I love a good bagel I cannot consider myself to be a true bagel connoisseur, but I do know what I like. As far as I am concerned, these bagels are second only to Bethesda bagels. And I might just be saying that because of fond childhood memories. but as far as the bagels in this area, these are the best around. They have many options like different sandwiches and breakfast bagels. All of these are very reasonably priced. For example, a sausage and egg bagel(without the cheese) can be had for under $ 4. They also have really good deals on bulk bagels. The student pack gives you six bagels and any type of cream cheese for $ 8.29. For an even better deal you can get the brunch pack which gets you a bakers dozen and two tubs of any cream cheese for $ 15.19. They also pay attention to the little things. For example, they bag the garlic and everything bagels separately so that they don’t taint the other more delicately flavored varieties. But be warned, this place is very popular and there is always a big line in the mornings. Luckily you can get breakfast bagels any time of day, so there is no need to stand in line early. Pro tip: There are two registers, meaning that they can accommodate two lines, something often forgotten when out-of-towners or non-regular crowds are there, this happens a lot when there is a game on campus. There is no reason to stay in a single line, place your order at the 2nd register, the business will appreciate it, it helps with throughput.

This place is a godsend if you are hungover(or even if you’re not)! Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings you’ll see struggling undergrads getting there Bagel Place fix. I graduated from UMD last year but I still come here every so often since I work in the area. My favorite item on the menu has to be the Terrapin. Your choice of bagel with cream cheese and then your choice of cheese on top. Then they toast it so the cheese is all melty and gooey. I always go for the jalapeño bagel and pepper jack cheese. SOGOOD! There’s plenty of seating but this place gets packed on the weekends. There’s also metered parking out front, so make sure you bring some quarters!
