The second to last time I went here, I got an awesome cut. I felt like I went from a messy-haired lion to a Hollywood goddess. This time, however, while the cut was cute with the styling the stylist did, the day after has me looking like a frizzy-haired mushroom-headed boy. Since my stylist didn’t ask me how I normally style my hair(I don’t – it’s naturally thick and wavy/curly and I have to keep it up for work), she probably didn’t make sure to cut it so that it would lay all right without any styling. I’m really disappointed. Worst yet, due to their hours and my schedule, I’m unable to go back and get it fixed this week so I’m stuck with this, or I’ll have to go elsewhere to get it fixed and be out more money. Your mileage may vary here.

Walked in and got one of the best fades I’ve had in a long time. After breaking up with my old barber(long story, won’t get into it) I tried several barbers that couldn’t get it quite right. When I walked into Today’s Hair, there was a guy working on a customer and his fade game was strong. Was hoping to get him, but a lady emerged from the back and appeared ready to cut. I took a chance, sat in the chair, told her what I wanted and she didn’t disappoint. Some people cut hair methodically — like they’ve been taught some strategy in school. Not her, she was one with my hair. The clippers buzzed up the sides with expert precision and she got the top nice and neat making sure she didn’t miss a hair. High quality work at a great price. If you live in the College Park area and are desperately seeking a decent look, give them a try.

Very poor experience. The female asian hair stylist was discriminatory. Didn’t follow instructions very well. I asked for 1″ trim and she cut off about 4″.

Went in for a regular men’s cut in the late morning and didn’t have to wait at all. Barber did a great job listening to how I wanted my hair cut and it seemed like the place that most people go to for a haircut. In and out in under 30 minutes very efficient. Will go back again.

Started coming here 2 years ago. The guy knows his stuff, I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he contoured it impeccably. Best place to get your haircut in regards to the Vietnamese gentleman. He’s the only one I see no matter how long the wait is.

Called the day of to see if they could fit me in for a wash and blow out. They kindly made an appointment for me at the time I needed. I saw Wanda. She did a great job and was attentive to my hair type. She recognized that my hair is fine and didn’t blow dry it right away– first putting me under a low heat dryer. she then also took the time to dry cut my split ends off. Thank you, Wanda! I feel great for my flight back to Denver :)

Love this place. They do a great job setting my hair with blow dry. The wait time is pretty impressive. I don’t go any where else since I found this place. Price is also reasonable.

I love Pola! I’ve been seeing her on and off for about a year or so, and I always leave happy. Today was no exception. She is quick, skilled, and most importantly, she cuts exactly how I like. I mostly stop by for a bang trim($ 5), but I got a dry haircut($ 25) today. It’s great! I will definitely be back. Korean hair is not the easiest to cut, so, I’m glad I found a go-to place… especially one near campus!

Awesome cut! Very fast! Sokha knew exactly what I wanted despite my rough explanation. I have had my haircut by the same stylist for my entire life until she left the area around a year ago and actually have let my hair grow out for a while because I didn’t know what to do… Finally went to a get it cut a couple different places and the price was either literally 300% what Today’s Hair charges or the service was dodgey. The guy is a pro and definitely can be trusted with a new style if you’re afraid to pull the trigger with a random person. Happy to find a place to go that doesn’t cost me $ 60 for a standard cut! P. S. Surprised Boris Z. thinks this isn’t cheap, pretty sure these guys are competing with Hair Cuttery at this price. But they definitely do not need to be that low. Make sure to tip for a job well done!

I have been coming here since 2001 and Sokha has been the only barber to touch my hair since then. I have moved several times around the DMV and still drive over an hour to come see Sokha once a month, he is the best! The hair cuts are not cheap at $ 18 for a man’s haircut but they wash your hair prior to every haircut which is totally worth it. After a while Sokha remembers the exact hair style I want and I no longer have to say anything other than«the usual». If you are anywhere near College Park and need a haircut, go see Sokha.

A friend recommended this place, and after hearing him rave about how awesome it is, I tried it. I went in early morning on a Saturday, was seen by Sakho and had a great experience. He listened to what I wanted, took his time, and made sure I got exactly what I wanted. After searching the area for a decent haircut for almost two years, I’ve finally found my spot!

I had been afraid to get my haircut in College Park after hearing the horror stories from all of my friends who went to hair cuttery. One of my friends told me about this place, and it was a delight. They are very friendly and do a nice job with my hair(which I have been told is difficult to cut). I will say the haircut is a tad on the expensive side, but its certainly better then walking around looking like you lost a fight with a lawnmower.

My husband and I have been coming here off and on(we’ve moved in and out of the area) for… OMG, I am old. Wait, what was I saying? Oh, yeah. He’s been coming to Sokha for something insane, like 22 years, and I’ve seen Pola since about the time we started dating– maybe 18 years? They even opened the salon super-early on a Sunday to do my and my bridesmaids’ hair on our wedding day(we got married at the UMCP chapel). Solid, professional haircuts at extreeeeemely reasonable prices, done by some of the nicest people you will ever meet– no lie. And if you’re an Asian guy? Or have Asian-guy-like hair? You seriously need to drop everything and see Sokha. No one(in the 5 states we’ve lived since!) gets my husband’s super-straight, super-thick hair as even as Sokha does.

So I just went here for the first time and the place is ok, nothing fancy, and Paula did a great job on my hair, but it is not a very difficult hair cut, I am a guy, and I ask for it to be shorter and tapered around the ears, keep it professional, easy breezy! I called ahead and asked for the price of a hair cut and she said it was 8 dollars, but when I got to the register to pay it became 18 dollars! I am getting a very easy and basic hair cut that takes all of about 15 min! I never pay more then 15 for a hair cut! That is the absolute max! So when I was told 18 I was very un happy! So I will not be back! The haircut was fine, but the price was very very wrong!

I went to UMD and graduated 4 years ago. This is a wonderful family owned business. They truly care about their customers and get to know each person. To this day, I still commute to CP from Bethesda everytime I need a haircut because Sohka is the Cadillac of hair technicians.

Love them — great family owned business. Fast, reasonably priced — very good with kids. Be sure to pay parking meters — CP police do ticket.

This is a top-notch family run business with hair stylists that do a great job. In fact they do such a great job that I’ve been going here since I was a student at the University of Maryland. For the last 10+ years I’ve gotten to know one of the stylists, Pola, and consider her my friend. Pola is also the owner with her husband, Sohka. I have a great conversations with them every time I visit. Of course I always leave happy with the same haircut she’s been giving me for the last decade :)
