This is a pretty unique little establishment. It won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but if you love various meats or cheeses stuffed inside dinner rolls, you’ll most likely be satisfied. Are these genuine Kolaches? Not at all. But they’ve got a good idea going, and they’re pretty easy on the wallet. My favorites are cream cheese and the sausage & cheese. I tried a BBQ one and didn’t like it at all. There’s a good bit of variety and something to please everyone. So if you’ve been thinking of stopping by, go ahead and try it!

Decent«Pig’s in a blanket» tho I am not as much a fan of the slovochek(forgive my spelling on that) sausage flavor as perhaps most in the area. The actual kolaches are quite good, and the banana nut muffin I tried was really good. The staff was very friendly and they get your in and out pretty quick even when busy. However. Even though I do like the filling of their kolaches, they are mostly bread, and as such, are drier than I prefer. If there was more filing to bread ratio, I would definitely give 4 – 5 stars, but as for now they are simply worth getting breakfast over a fast food place, not worth bragging about.

Love supporting local businesses. This is just down the road from our office and the kolaches are really good and the staff is always friendly in the morning. My favorite is the jalapeño sausage. Just the right amount of spicy.

They have reasonable quality kolaches, but nothing to right home about. The lady that I usually see working at this location is friendly and helpful. I find these kolaches worth buying after noon, when they are at half price. 3.5 stars

Sausage egg and cheese bubba bun is the way to go! The meat portion is great, the cheese is fantastic, and the bread that it comes on is fresh and amazing. Try it– you’ll love it! I also love the cinnamon rolls, but only from the middle because the edges are always too hard/crunchy. The service is a tad slow so if you’re in a hurry don’t expect to get in and out if there is a crowd.

The service was quick and the staff was friendly. The food quality and taste was less than satisfying and to be honest, although a great price, I would not recommend this place. I guess I had high expectations of a place that focuses on Kolaches. They were granulated and dry. Not worth it.

Well, I don’t know if it’s inflation or what but this is pretty silly. Breakfast kolaches are only .94 for a «sausage cheese and jalapeño» unless you opt for the $ 2 version that uses local Slovacek sausage from Snook. Yesterday I picked up 5 of the $ 1 ones and one of the $ 2 ones and a cup of the breakfast blend coffee. When visiting other locations they always offered to microwave them as they are just laying out in the open and not warm. I actually had to ask them to microwave them and when they did they still were not warm. Have you ever seen a tiny little«sausage» like on a meat and cheese party platter? You know, the ones with the toothpicks in them? Well, that’s the tiny little piece of meat in these things. And there’s no cheese except for some yellow substance in the tiny snack sausage. Normally I would not take the time to comment on something that costs less than a dollar but they honestly are not worth it. They are so tiny that in reality they should be 5/$ 1. I could probably eat 30 of them to be full. And the coffee was pretty terrible as well, but aside from the Starbucks in Kroger there’s no where else to get coffee within 1.2 miles of here at present. Someone needs to open a place in this shopping center or nearby that’s actually a good value for breakfast cause this sure ain’t. Only other places are McDonalds and Jack in the Crack.

Uh huh… Kolache’s Rolf’s RAWKS. I have been to KR’s a dozen times when visiting family in B/CS. The cinnamon rolls and the kolaches are very good — fresh and served by friendly people. They serve sandwiches, too, but recently started only making them with small ‘roll’ type bread instead of a bun(they give you 2 small sandwiches for the price of a full sandwich). This idea isn’t working — go back to the regular buns, Rolf(minus 1 star). Otherwise, a good place.

We came in on a Friday, completely ignorant as to what a «kolache» even was. We returned on a Sunday as we were leaving town and bought 8 to stuff down on the ride between BCS and Houston Hobby. I think there’s a lesson in there somewhere.

Kolache Rolf’s is… fine. There aren’t too many options for kolaches in College Station, and we could do a lot worse than Rolf’s. The bread is almost too sweet and always seems underbaked to me – it’s usually really doughy and dense. The fruit kolaches are pretty boring; they’re on the small side, with your standard selection of cream cheese, cherry, apple, etc. all of which seem to come from a giant can of pie filling. The meat kolaches, though, are great. The bacon is chopped bits of bacon tossed in the dough; the Slovacek sausage has a huge chunk of sausage right in the middle, and any of them with jalapeño have big slices right in the filling, with just the right amount of heat. My only complaint is the cheese tends to disappear when you get it. I haven’t ordered any of their other items, like sandwiches or cinnamon rolls, because let’s be real, when you have«kolache» in your name, I’m not going there to get lunch. As a quick option, it’s not bad, but if you want breakfast pastries in CS, I don’t know why you’re not going to Shipley’s.

Final Decision: Best pigs in a blanket in my life Was visiting my bro here and needed something for a quick breakfast before we headed out to Houston. Walked in and all along the wall were all these beautiful pastries and then, these huge baskets with several different sausages in a blanket. I ordered a couple of their popular german sausage in a blanket… within minutes they were in mah belly. Definitely a great item to order. I wished there was such a place like this in Los Angeles.

Hands down, Kolache Rolf’s has the best kolaches in College Station. The dough used is delicious and the service is very friendly. I love the drive-thru option.

I had heard that Texas was seeing an upswing in kolache shops including some franchises. This saddened me. Kolaches were something my Grandma always made and to see them commercialized inevitably meant they would be cheapened. I’m happy to say that Kolache Rolf’s is very, very good. They aren’t grandma’s but they are absolutely amazing. I don’t know how they compare to other kolache shops outside of West, but the shop was classy and the kolaches melted in my mouth. Maybe progress isn’t so bad…
