Kory and Deborah knock the food outta the park. Blackened fish, seafood gumbo, jambalaya… Can’t wait to go back. Be prepared: take out only and it is inside a gas station. What it lacks in ambiance Kory and Deborah more than make up for with great conversation, friendly, welcoming attitudes and great service.

This is one of my go-to places. The shrimp poboy is loaded down with freshly breaded shrimp. The who-dat sauce is delicious and really ties this sandwich together. I would highly recommend this place.

This was my first time here and I LOVED it! I had the Blue Bayou Friday special. There is so much food, the staff is incredibly friendly and the prices are good. Parking is a pain buts that’s not their fault. Maybe go for a late lunch to avoid parking issues. I will most definitely be back.

I first off want to say how awesome the guy working the counter was he was really nice and helpful to makes sure I got what I wanted. I ordered boudin balls and the étouffée. The boudin was amazing great flavor not to hot and that who dat sauce made them even better. The étouffée was really flavorful and you get a good portion. My only complaint was that the étouffée was incredibly spicy and I usually like spicy stuff the flavor other wise was great. I can’t wait to go back and try this place again. Btw it’s in a gas station

I’m not sure if it was all the Unilocal hype, but I really was not impressed by the food. The service was good, both workers were very friendly and outgoing. I had the sausage gumbo and boudin balls. I want to try again, maybe during a better hour? It was definitely fresh food though.

Love this place. The étouffée is amazing. And now you can have it delivered to your home via Aggiefood. Awesome!

Out of the way Cajun place. The dirty rice was good. Ladies that are running the place are very friendly and they have a card they stamp per visit to get free dinner. I enjoyed the dinner.

Literally the BEST place for cajun food in College Station. Ordered wings with two sides. The dirty rice was surprisingly delicious, I’m not much of a fan when it comes to rice. If you live in college station this place is a must, you will not regret it.

I’ve been passing by this place for years, and I always wrote it off as sketchy and small, so I actually missed the entrance, even though I knew it was in a gas station.(It’s in Checkers!) The experience is definitely interesting enough to be memorable. It also has that charm of a new place that’s trying to figure out how to market, and what sells.(Being that the lovely ladies gave out more samples than we could handle and had some great deals that they lovingly explained for us.) So you’ll go to the tiny corner of this tiny gas station and meet said lovely ladies, have 3 or 4 samples(or more, if you ask), order, wait around for your food to be cooked, then whisk you and your styrofoam box/cup(if you get the gumbo/etoufee) out for dinner because it’s a tiny little bitty place. But the food is good! I ordered the gumbo, and they asked me if I wanted crab(but of course!), my claw didn’t have any meat(certainly not their fault) but it’s got that home cooked, whole hearted goodness. I had friends get the fried catfish, and they said it was good. It’s not a value– you pay about the same as a normal cheaper restaurant, and the menu seems to be at their whim(it won’t drastically change, but I wouldn’t expect it to be the exact same as the photos here). But it’s a charming little hole in the wall and if you like that sort of thing, this will be right up your alley.

Remnant, you’re in a convenient store on the other side of town with limited hours and no seating, but I am willing to make it work. Just fry me some boudin balls and cajun fries… alright, throw in a catfish sandwich, too. And don’t even THINK of forgetting that Who Dat Sauce. Thanks!

This place is legit. The claim of authentic cajun is real! It is in a gas station but don’t let that dissuade you. It’s also a carryout place only. The food? My mouth still has that satisfying burn after downing a bowl of gumbo full of chicken, sausage and seafood. Ask for it hot though. They have to cater to everyone on the heat. There was even a small section of crab still in the shell! Seriously? At a gas station? Yes! The shrimp Poboy was full of shrimp but they didn’t just grab some breaded shrimp and toss it on a roll. They must import their shrimp because it was veined then breaded in a nice spicy breading. The food is a straight 5 stars. Unfortunately it takes time to make the from scratch items so the line can get long which is why the review is a 4 star. You know… slow down. Take your time. Tweet. Surf Facebook. You are going to do it anyway. So do it while waiting in line for some awesome food. Cheers

This place is a diamond in the rough. Seriously — fried chicken to rival Layne’s or Cane’s. Their Who Dat sauce is different than the aforementioned but sooooooo goooooood. Get extra!!! Just had their gumbo and it was delicious seafoody goodness. I don’t think I even had food this good in actual New Orleans. I know it’s in a gas station and that might weird people out, but this place is seriously legit Nawlins cooking, definitely check them out.

I married into a Cajun family, so I’ve got some pretty high standards when it comes to restaurant«Cajun» food. Giant shrimp po’ boys and jalapeño hush puppies. So. Good. Go, you won’t regret it!!!

Great Cajun food! Friendly folks. Who dat sauce is awesome! Didn’t know what to expect when we first walked in, but everything is cooked home-style. Definitely going to coming back for more! So glad my wife found this place!

Ever since moving to College Station, I’ve been in major withdrawals from cajun food. Nothing too fancy — but it is delicious! Love the meat pies and the special red sauce. AUTHENTIC.

This place has delicious food all made from scratch; it was honestly some of the best Cajun food I’ve had. It’s family run, and everyone is so friendly. You’ll want to get past the fact that you’re buying food from a gas station because their food is that good.

The food is cooked to order, it is not fast food, it is home cookin! The boudin balls were amazing! And the fish and shrimp were delicious!!! The menu could have been a little more stream lined as there are combo options that state«1 meat 2 sides» but the options were a little unclear. I would also recommend a small table and chairs if possible! It’s Cajun spice and home cooked wholesome all in one!

After seeing this place on Unilocal we finally ventured over. At first i was a little skeptical since its in a gas station. All my concerns went out the window with the first bite. Not only is the food wonderful the folks here are really GREAT! We were offered samples of what they had & everything was so good! I hope they can find a place where you can sit down & eat soon. Love it!

I visited Nawlins yesterday and I enjoyed not only the food but my experience! I heard from my friends about this place so I thought to give it try before work. The young man that took my order was super friendly and helpful. I ordered the crawfish étouffée and sweet potato fries. The étouffée was amazing! Perfectly spiced but they will help you spice it up more to your liking if requested. The sweet potato fries were great as well as the«WHODAT sauce» that was served with them. The ladies at my workplace ate all of my SP fries and fell in love with the WHODAT sauce. Also, the prices were inexpensive! Can’t wait to return! And of course… Try them out!

After reading the reviews, we were excited to try TRFN. We ordered: Shrimp PoBoy 2lbs Crawfish 2 Cups Seafood Gumbo The Shrimp PoBoy was probably the highlight of the experience. The serving size is huge. However, because everything is take out, the fried shrimp did not retain their heat. Perhaps if we had not gotten the sandwich«dressed». The flavor of the shrimp was great, but it’s hard to get over driving for only 6 or 7 minutes home and the shrimp being luke-warm and the fries that come as a side ice cold. The Crawfish had an okay flavor. Kinda salty, especially towards the end of the bag where the juice had settled. The were way overcooked, which made making the tail meat a little more laborious than usual. The shells wanted to just fall apart and the meat was a bit mushy. The«Seafood» gumbo was also okay in flavor, but nothing to rave about. I quoted the word seafood because the only seafood present was 2 tiny blue crab legs floating in the gumbo broth. No other seafood was present. No shrimp, oysters, nothing. Just the empty crab shell. I’d rate this a 2 star, «Meh, I’ve had better», but other reviewers were right, the staff is super friendly and sweet. Call ahead, especially on a Saturday. Our wait was about 20 minutes — standing around in a gas station. I’d suspect if they could get a small restaurant store-front they’d do a lot better. The hours here on Unilocal are wrong. They are only open from 11 – 5 on Saturday. I’d assume they don’t open until 11 on other days, as well. The Shrimp PoBoy was definitely worth returning for, we’ll just have to eat it in the car.
