Had a great dinner here… lamb pappardelle and a lemon tiramisu for dessert. My waitress was exactly attentive enough, personable and friendly. Incredibly reasonably priced for the quality and experience, will definitely be back. Great little place.

Awesome food. Very European-ish, which is expected, as the owner is from Italy/France(he says both). Backstory – I hate lamb. HATE it. But after reading the description of the lamb on the menu here, I took a huge risk and ordered it. I have now ordered it 3 times. I can’t not get it. Incredible. Do yourself a favor and eat here. You wouldn’t expect this to be a kid friendly place, but the owner is very accommodating to them.

The food is phenomenal, the owner is passionate about what he does and the quality, and you can tell. Top notch ingredients expertly prepared. Order the hangar steak, you’ll thank me. Really cool bar towards the back of the restaurant with a very warm and inviting atmosphere. I live a little ways from downtown, but this place is definitely worth the drive. Oh and the crepes!!! We actually went next door to the Paris crepes(same owner) and started with 3 crepes from there, then went and had our dinner at Coutures Bistro, and ended our night with two more crepes. They were aahhhhhmazzzing. Love.

Mr. Hafsaoui W sent a compliment and called me a liar. Very unclassy. If your restaurant sucks do not be a troll and cyber stalk me that is a crime. I am filing a complaint with Unilocal. Take some constructive criticism and improve your restaurant instead of attacking me for telling the truth. Shame on you. Mr Hafsaoui.

The mussels, duck confit and salmon are as fine as you’ll find in town. Why is this place not packed?

The reason I’m giving this place two stars instead of one is because I’ve been there a few times and the first time was good, but no so much since then. The first time, the owner saw us studying the menu and invited us in. It was nice and the food was good. The next time I brought family and we were one of only two tables in the place. There were literally more staff than customers and yet our food was over an hour before we saw it. Then three of the four of us were served and the forth plate wasn’t presented for another 15 minutes. It was pretty bad. The owner came over and apologized and expressed confusion about how this all happened. I understand if things go wrong, but seriously we were ONE of TWO tables occupied. Just left me thinking that I won’t come back.

Small and intimate place in downtown Colorado Springs… the staff are friendly and attentive and treated we visiting Denverites quite nicely. The only thing is once more people show up… there seems to be only 2 serving staff to work the entire floor and this causes quite a wait in between food delivery and check receipt. The food was decent(avoid the chicken option unless you aren’t too hungry because it is quite small which is a shame because it was also very flavorful and good). The service started out in a timely manner but slowed significantly with each course and by the end we were ready to leave, skipped dessert, and felt we had probably stayed an hour too long…

Great new restaurant in Colorado Springs. We went for a date night and had a perfect evening. The rounded booths are perfect for a date night and the food was wonderful. Everything was delicious, the French onion soup and cheese plate definitely stand out. The lamb entrée was spectacular. Really didn’t need dessert but the Tiramisu was wonderful. The wine list is by the glass, but it was perfectly paired with the menu. We were a little concerned when we walked in at 7:00PM on Saturday night and saw only 3 tables occupied. But the food was amazing and the atmosphere is great! Really hope they survive, well worth a visit.

Food was delicious! Service was slow. And there were only three other parties in the dining area. And one waitress, one hostess. Arancini was wonderful to start off with. So. Good. As none of the entrees gripped me, I went with the mushroom risotto & the cherry tomato panzanella with arugula & house made burrata. These were delicious! The risotto was garlicky & just what I was looking for. The salad was great… except for the 20 or so capers I had to sideline… And the many onion slices that joined said excessive capers. But the rest was fresh, flavorful, delicious. My man enjoyed his chicken, though disagreed with the description of «generous» that was given by another Unilocaler. The bread that came with dinner came after our appetizer. It was fabulous, however, with the compound butter that came with. We opted out of dessert since we had been in the restaurant about 2 hours & didn’t feel like waiting around another 40 min or so to receive another course… again: food is wonderful, service is pleasant but leaves a lot to be desired as far as timing goes.

The short: Dinner was excellent. We’ll definitely be back! We are fans of Paris Crepes next door, and when we learned several months ago that the owners(Wahid and his wife) had opened a fine dining establishment, we couldn’t wait to visit. We were greeted immediately and seated in a cozy booth by a sharply-dressed hostess. The dining room appeared bigger than in the online photos, but even with the high ceiling it was still intimate. The décor was understated with just the right amount of romance that is appropriate for both date night or a special event for a group. This space was formerly a woman’s boutique(Idoru) that I used to frequent, but it was difficult to imagine it as such anymore. We could hear laughter from a large group in the separate lounge area in the back. Service was spot-on — although a bit aloof in his interactions with us, throughout the evening our server was perfectly attentive. I appreciate subtle service, and many times I’d look down at my water glass and wondered when he had them refilled. Wahid also came by to check on us several times. He recognized us on the first time around and was genuinely delighted that we were trying his new restaurant. Each dish arrived in just the right amount of time, so we were able to enjoy each course without feeling rushed or as if we were waiting. The Artisan Cheese Platter was excellent(the burrata is housemade). We’ve had similarly-sized platters at other establishments that cost between $ 3 to $ 8MORE, so we thought this one was a great value, not to mention the delicious cheeses and accompaniments. The salads were bigger than either of us expected, and they were very fresh. Although I enjoyed mine with pistachios and pears, I REALLY liked my husband’s cherry tomato panzanella with arugula. My Chicken Roulade was one of the best I’ve had, and I was hard-pressed to give up some samples to the husband. He, meanwhile, claimed I would not like his Lamb Tajine at all, but I managed to steal a piece and discovered why he was being so selfish. Both meats were juicy and tender, with the lamb falling off the bone. Both were very flavorful, albeit in different ways. I was also surprised by the amount of food on each plate. After dinner we headed towards the back lounge to check it out. It was very laid back in here with a bar and sofas. Seemed like a nice place to gather some friends if you just wanted drinks. Highly recommended!

Girls night out. Restaurant presents well from décor and comfort standpoint. We all tried something different, and everything was superb. Mussels– tasty, tender and perfectly seasoned broth. Served with fresh pommes frites(although extra bread is required for enjoying the broth). Steak skewer appetizer with blue cheese fabulous. Ratatouille salad was a perfect marriage of greens, veggies, goat cheese and light vinegarette. Fritto misto was delicate, well seasoned and not greasy. The list goes on. They are still in the stages fine tuning, but well on their way to stardom. My only hope is that the wait staff becomes more familiar with the food and can easily answer questions about it.

I’ll start out by saying I’m pretty spoiled when it comes to having a wide selection of nice restaurants – I’m from San Francisco. And since my boyfriend wowed me with hotel reservations for Valentine’s Day, I was looking to even the score with a romantic spot for dinner that weekend. Being new to the restaurant scene in Colorado Springs, I was looking for someplace cozy and unique, with the right atmosphere for an intimate dinner, and upscale enough that I could don my fanciest duds without feeling out of place. The last thing I wanted was a noisy, typical steakhouse and bar, which was exactly all that downtown CO Springs seemed to offer. Luckily, I stumbled upon this place. The atmosphere was perfect; they have lovely semicircular booths that allow you to eat as close to your date as you want, or sit somewhat apart and still be facing towards each other. The décor – classy! Beautiful Van Gogh recreations on the walls, but the soft yellow paint kept it from being stuffy. The music – exactly what I wanted to listen to on Valentine’s Day. You can’t go wrong with La Vie En Rose. The staff – very friendly and attentive without pestering us. The owner was very charming and greeted us at the door. Just upon entering it, I knew I’d made the right decision. They are a very new restaurant, and this became apparent when it came time to order. They were out of a good number of the dishes that we had hoped to try. I understand running out of lamb late on a popular Saturday night, but they were completely out of mashed potatoes! Couldn’t someone have run to the store to get some more at any point that evening? It’s not as if the spuds would spoil if they got too many. Not to mention, they were also out of risotto, so I couldn’t even substitute that for the mashed potatoes that should have come with my half chicken. We tried to order the duck confit for our appetizer, but they had run out of that as well. It got to the point where we just had to laugh every time our poor waitress had to tell us no. I personally hate polenta, so, I had no other option but to go with the fries for my chicken. And we decided on the salmon croquettes for our app. That ended up being the best decision we made that night, because the salmon croquettes were to die for! Highly, highly recommend. I had been really disappointed with the lack of menu items available, on the Saturday night after Valentine’s Day no less, but the food we DID get made up for that. My chicken was deliciously seasoned and moist, and the skin was a perfect texture – just crispy enough. The shoe string fries were actually quite good, and our waitress brought us a divine red pepper aioli to dip them in. My boyfriend got the steak, which was tender, juicy, and just the way a fancy steak should be. He was pleased as punch, which meant so was I! Our waitress recommended wine selections for us, which were both quite tasty and complemented our meals well. There was only one other disappointment that night, which was the dessert course. We ordered the brie dessert plate, with dried fruit and rum. Normally, I love brie, but the plate was so soaked in liquor that it drowned out the flavor of everything else. The rum seemed to bring out only the bitter flavor of the cheese, whereas the creaminess and the nuances of the fruit were totally lost. Would not order again unless they made some drastic changes to that dish. For most of our meal, we were quietly laughing, enjoying each other’s food, and joking around with the waitress. The ambiance was so relaxing and our food was, with the exception of dessert, fantastic. Prices seemed reasonable, though definitely on the expensive side of things. I would definitely make another reservation the next time I wanted to steal away from the hustle and bustle with a special date. The bistro is also right across from the park, so we were able to take a romantic stroll immediately after dinner to work off all the good food! All in all, Couture’s Bistro is a very nice place with a silly name that is obviously going through some growing pains as a new restaurant. Something special is definitely going on there, and I can’t wait to try it again on a night when they’ve fully stocked their kitchen. There is nowhere else in downtown Colorado Springs that is like it, and I’d be more than happy to help encourage it to grow and become one of those local treasures that are so clearly lacking in this area.

My fiancé and I chose Couture’s Bistro to celebrate our new engagement and I don’t think we could have picked a better place. Atmosphere — A curved booth allowed us to sit next to one another, but face each other somewhat as well. Van Gogh replicas are on the wall and pleasant music plays softly overhead. Earth tones on the walls and dark furniture and partially exposed brick make for a romantic feeling overall. Each table is also lit with a candle when you take your seat. Service — Very attentive server who kept our iced tea constantly topped up. Our server was knowledgeable of the menu and offered his personal recommendations. The owner is also very friendly and sought our feedback on the food and service. We were very pleased with service overall. Food — The most important element! We opted for the four course meal plus a shared dessert. It ended up being quite a lot of food — more than we could finish in one sitting, certainly! First course: My fiancé had the salmon croquettes which were out of this world. The chef worked some magic with these; they appeared to have been lightly fried, but rather than looking, feeling, or tasting greasy like one would expect of most fried foods, these came out very light and flavorful. I had the duck confit; the serving of duck alone would have sufficed as an entrée! The duck was very well prepared — juicy and flavorful, with a light and flaky skin; the couscous and apricot sauce accompanying it were just as amazing. I’ve never had anything like it. Salad course: My fiancé had the arugula, radicchio, blue cheese and toasted walnut salad. Although we felt it could do with a little more dressing(perhaps a sweet vinaigrette) it was good. I had the warm ratatouille salad with goat cheese; both the ratatouille and goat cheese were amazing, together and separately. I would definitely recommend it for someone looking for unique and complex flavors! Second course: My fiancé had the mushroom risotto, which was rich and flavorful. Likewise with my pesto risotto. Both were prepared fresh by the chef and it showed through in the flavor, texture, and presentation. We look forward to having their risotto again! Main course: My fiancé had the hanger steak done medium rare with french fries; the steak came out very well seasoned and sliced into thin pieces. No additional salt, pepper or sauce was required; it was steak perfection. I had the lamb Tajine — I’m a fan of lamb, and this is some of the best I’ve ever had. It was well seasoned, extremely tender and fell off the bone. The vegetable accompaniment was likewise well seasoned and tasted very fresh. Both dishes were very generous portions. Dessert: The dessert menu changes daily; we shared a tiramisu. Our only regret is that we each did not order one serving of tiramisu each! We both agree that it’s the best tiramisu we’ve ever had. We’ll definitely be ordering it again when it’s available! Overall this restaurant is off to a great start. They clearly have a very skilled chef in the back; the staff is friendly and helpful; and the owner himself is very personable. This is a great place to take a date!

Coutures is an oasis in Colorado Springs’ desert of decent places to eat. The menu is succinct and reflects the Owner and Chef’s experience in true French Cuisine with a twist of Algerian infused. The décor is very pleasant and the restaurant offers private dining, a nice café and bar in the rear, and tastefully decorated main dining room. The Confit of Duck will astound you for its magnificence, as will the steak skewers, both appetizers. The risotto was very good, though a touch underdone, but not enough to ruin it. We had the Lamb Tajine. It’s a delight though could use a touch of salt for my taste, but if you combine it with the other ingredients, this really isn’t an issue. I have a taste for salt. The Hangar Steak was also done with superb care. The catsup is homemade for the pomme frittes. Delectable would describe it. Finally the dessert, we ordered the cannolies(seems odd, I’ll explain in a moment) and Tiramisu. The canollies seem out of place at a French restaurant, however, the sister restaurant is a creperie and the cannolies are light and perfectly made reflecting the experience of the chef and the owner. The Tiramisu was tremendous. Couture’s Bistro is a new restaurant and will grow and you should be there to grow with it. It is worth your time and your palate will thank you.

Great new find for fine dinning in Colo Spgs! Just had their grand opening this week and I am already impressed. Great ambience, authentically European. The duck with Israeli cous cous a must. Wine list clearly assembled by a seasoned sommelier.
