Merit Property Management

The worst decision I ever made was trusting Merit Property management with my property. The tenants they placed in my property did cumulatively 10k worth of damage and unpaid rent. They had pets which I sent pictures of to Merit and nothing was done about it. The tenants had a marijuana growing operation in my property which is legal in CO but against the lease agreement. They kicked in doors, smashed cabinets, let dogs tear up the walls alsong with the tenants. Merit hired a glass company to fix my front door, yes a glass company. It has been 3 months and my door is still not finished being repaired. If you are considering using their services … think twice, avoid them like the plague.

They are horrible at what they do! The only thing they did for me or my property is collect the rent electronically, minus their share of course. Any time I had an issue with my property, Merit Property Management would drag their feet on addressing the issues. A few of the issues were emergencies that could not wait for feet dragging. I always had to take it upon myself to get things fixed with my own contractors. The whole point of hiring them was so I didn’t have to worry about my property. Their communication is horrible! I had to find out about these issues through my tenants. Additionally, if you call their office for something, do not expect a phone call back. You literally have to go into their office (out in the middle of nowhere) and put them on the spot. The office manager will not return your calls and will not keep you abreast of anything involving your property. She really needs to work on her verbal as well as nonverbal communication skills. She always seems irritated at the fact you are coming into her office and not staying in the dark, as she would rather you be. Call people back once in a while and maybe they won’t have to come to your office! I will NEVER hire this company for property management again. To my fellow military members, ask around for a recommended company because this is NOT the one you want to hire when you PCS out of the Springs! I could say they treat their clients like a number, but I can’t! They do not treat you like anything! You get ZERO service from these guys! STAY AWAY or you will be sorry!

If I could give these scam artists anything lower than one star I would. They are extremely hard to work with. They will do everything in their power to screw the tenant out of money. One instance is when our dryer broke. It took them over a month to finally get someone in to come look at it and replace it. Another one is our rent check got to them in the mail one day late due to Easter and they first tried over charging us and second refused to work with me at all. They are extremely heartless thugs and are always condescending when they talk to me on the phone. Rude, heartless, and most of all greedy company that will do anything to screw over the tenant.
