Cute little place, but the service was horrendous. It was our first time, and it wasn’t clear we were supposed to order at the counter. After sitting for a while, we finally figured it out. In order to get self-serve milk in my coffee, I had to ask a few times where the milk was(again, not obvious), ask them to fill up the empty milk container, and then wander around looking for said container(it was behind the counter at that point… they had forgotten to put it back out). Breakfast burrito was very good. Biscuits and gravy were not– biscuits were more like rolls.

Unbelievable location, amazing java and excellent service. Ryan is the owner and master Batista. Excellent spot for breakfast or lunch. Attempt their Ethiopian Sidamo through the syphon. The sandwiches are home made and fresh. The setting is warm and enchanting. The staff is friendly and educated.

We walked in a little more than an hour before closing. They were out of corned beef and fruit. Ok fine. We ordered at the counter and were never asked if we wanted something to drink with our meal. WE asked for waters and got ¾full glasses of water. OK fine. We sat down to eat and were completely ignored. No water refills and no one ever asked if our food was satisfactory. Not OK. Not fine. The staff was too busy doing side work, so they could go home, to come over and check on their customers! The food was quite yummy. The service was non existent!!!

This is a superb breakfast, lunch, or coffee shop in the middle of the Black Forest! The outward appearance may be deceiving, but when you go inside, its amazing. Great place to grab breakfast and coffee with people visiting Colorado Springs.

This little café tucked in the middle of Black Forest is pretty good. I guess they really put a focus on their coffee and coffee drinks but I particularly enjoy the food as well. They can get busy on weekends and holidays and do have a tendency to get slow/leave some tables dirty making finding a seat challenging; however, I assure you that it is worth it. The coffee is great but I love a good breakfast with locally procured ingredients and this place delivers. I have had a few items off the menu but my favorite is the tiny burrito which is it so tiny. Great ingredients and flavor that is filling. Get here early or come on a weekday to enjoy this Black Forest gem.

Amazing and worth the drive if you don’t live in Black Forest! You can order online and pick-up in the café. Their baked goods are divine and their large batch iced coffee rocks!

The food here is great and the coffee is even better. I split the biscuits and gravy and the tiny burrito between me and a friend. It was excellent. And the drunken snow man latte was fantastic as well. Definitely not a place to jet in and out quick, they literally grind all the beans for coffee fresh, so it’s not some quick cheap fast food place. The vibe is incredible, the cabin feel is fun, and the whole place is just a real wonderful experience.

Last few experiences were subpar. Nothing to write home about but not horrible either. Just right in the middle. In response to your comment Ryan, I sent the food back because it wasn’t hot. There was no I’m sorry about that or any condolence, just a bit of an attitude. When we were ordering, it took us a minute and the counter person left to do something and was gone for like 5 minutes. The food was better once it was hot.

Delicious coffee. Always cold food :/ I have no issue tipping when given the option on the credit card checkout screen, but no one has ever checked on me the several times I made a visit. Empty water glasses & more syrup is not an option. But it’s a nice ambience.

We decided to try out the R&R after hearing so many great things about it! It’s not your typical sit down breakfast restaurant. You start by ordering at the counter, pick a seat, then they bring the drinks and food out to you. I’m not a coffee drinker, so I didn’t try the coffee, but I’m guessing that’s one of the parts that makes this place so great… The atmosphere also adds to the greatness, it has a woodsy rustic feel, with some really cool murals. Overall it was decent!

Very cute and cozy place with a lovely Colorado theme. All of our food was very cold and the toast was soggy.

The drinks here are awesome. Food was okay but I think the bread I got was gluten free. It was very dense and chewy. Definitely worth a visit for the drinks though you really will not be disappointed.

I was with my family and ordered a bbq bacon cheddar burger, med-well. It was well done, blackened on the outside, no bbq sauce. I went to ask for the sauce and couldn’t get anyone’s attention — the staff were busy running a CSA delivery that takes place in the restaurant. I came back because I didn’t want my burger to get cold, but my husband went and got someone’s attention about the sauce. The server brought over… ketchup. I have been here with a friend before and got a pastry — it was very heavy and dense. I don’t know how the coffee is, but the food seems to be kind of hit-and-miss. The food I saw going to other tables looked good, but our items were all overcooked, lacking ingredients and disappointing. We will not return.

We love this place! I would give it 5 stars, but the last time we were there we noticed that it could use a good cleaning! Under the coaches and chairs there were crumbs and bugs and the pillows are stained. One good deep clean and this place would be 5 stars. Still, it’s one of our favorite places to get coffee with friends or stop for a good meal in a cozy place! Love to local and homemade food choices!

I absolutely love their breakfast skillet and the fact that they use local produce. Great variety of coffees and teas too, not to mention baked goods. Their chorizo cheddar bites are delicious!

My wife and I just love this place. The atmosphere is great and the coffee is always excellent. The staff is always friendly and helpful. You can tell it’s a great place because it does get busy at times, and we go regularly and see a lot of repeat customers. The menu choices are very interesting(Baked Oatmeal) and quite tasty. Some of the portions are on the small side, but others are large, so with experience you’ll figure it out. It’s consistent, which is important. Carla’s Colorado is a wonderful omelet type dish, the french toast is excellent, and the corned beef hash is unique and tasty. Nothing is overly salty or sweet — just the right amount of seasoning. To be fair, we stay away from their pancakes — that’s just not their forte(we’ve tried them several times). But everything else we’ve had has been excellent. Another thing to keep in mind is that they roast their own coffee and sell a nice variety of beans. We’ve purchased several different roasts and they’ve all been excellent. As for the coffee there, we generally prefer the pour-over coffee instead of the batch brewed(just ask and they’ll explain your options). You order at the counter and then find a seat… they deliver the food to your table. The only hitch with this is that sometimes when they are busy you might feel a little rushed to figure out what you want to order. So we usually figure that out ahead of time(they have a good website with their menu online). R&R Coffee Café is by far and away our favorite place to hangout.

I waited to write a review until I tried it multiple times. Someone said that this is a place that you can easily pass by without even noticing that it is there. The interior décor is clean and looks new. The staff is very friendly and easy to talk to. The brunch menu items are great unless they are busy, then they might come to you with the cold version of what you ordered. The best part of R&R, by far, is the coffee! They have their own wide range of roasts that can please any palate. They do pour overs, espresso drinks, as well as other unique methods of brewing you a cup of joe. My recommendation is that you visit them when they are not busy or just get yourself a good cup of coffee!

R&R is one of those places that you could easily pass by as it isn’t flashy. I dropped in recently while I was on a bike ride through Black Forest. The barista was super helpful and friendly. The décor was rustic and inviting. It was actually rather busy for a Friday but not too busy to get overlooked. I didn’t get anything other than water, but I’ll definitely be back. The drinks and food looked great. R&R also has barista competitions from time to time. That could be a fun time.

Went here on a whim for a late Saturday breakfast, and so glad we did! The ambience is so cozy, and welcoming :-) They even had some artwork hanging up from the local elementary school… cute! I had the Ham Pan Breakfast(I added a picture). It came w/two eggs, home style potatoes, toast, and ham. It was delicious! I also had a Honey Vanilla Chai latte, and it was one of the better chai tea drinks I’ve ever had. Hubby had the Cakes & Eggs… two eggs, bacon, and two big ol’ pancakes… all scrumptious! He had a Mocha to drink, also yummy. And they roast their own coffee here… cool! I wanna come back and we aren’t even home yet :)
