I have been to many«Korean» restaurants, but never really found the food even being close to Korean food. Years ago I used to go to a place called Mana on S. Academy because their food was almost the real thing, but sadly they closed down. After trying many many other Korean restaurants, I came across taste of korea. I just had to go and try this one. It’s pretty far away from where I live, but I needed to find«THE» new Korean spot for me. We were greeted by an actual Korean lady *whoop whoop* and to my surprise she was also the cook. I ordered the sliced dumpling soup, some yakimandou and of course some Japchae. We got little appetizer plates with different variations of Kim chi which were absolutely delicious. I especially liked the fried vegetable pancake. We also tore into the yakimandou that came with a tasty dipping sauce. Then our main course arrived and I was in heaven. Everything we ordered was close to being authentic korean food. We finished everything on our plates, even tho the portions are meant for linebackers that play in the NFL. The cook/owner came over a couple of times to make sure we had enough water and to make sure that the food was good, which it was!!! We make sure to go to taste of korea once a week and try something different every time, which we have not been disappointed with anything on her menu. Love the food, love the service and mainly, I love the prices!!!

Small Korean place off a side street in a little shopping center. Walking in, it smells amazing. We ordered the yakimandoo and bimbibap. The mandoo came with sauce cups for both of us. This is great as I prefer to spice my sauce up. The bimbibap we got in the hot bowl and came out smelling perfect. They brought out the paste in a ketchup dispenser do you can control your spiciness, another plus. The sides are kimchi, cucumber kimchi, and kimchi pancakes. All of these were good. Overall the food was fantastic. Will definitely eat here again.

Fantastic Korean food. I’ve been looking for a place to match the delicious bulgogi I had in Korea and I think this place comes the closest. It’s expensive but is worth the price in my opinion.

I have dined in, ordered take out and delivery from Taste of Korea, and not once have I been disappointed! I always order the spicy bulgogi because why change when it’s SO good?! I’ve also tried the regular bulgogi which is equally as delicious. The teriyaki chicken kids meals are perfect in portion and taste delicious. My kids love the pot stickers! I also love that this is kind of a secret place because the food is always ready fast.(Although I do wish them the best in sales!) As well as having delicious food, the people who work here are always kind and have been very hospitable. Definitely worth trying, you won’t forget this place!

This place is legit. Friendly service and great Korean food. While the portions are definitely«American» sized, they are no less delectable! I lived in Pyongtaek-Ri for a year, taste of Korea most definitely!

We’ve eaten lunch here about five times and it’s always good. Yes, the food does take a few minutes to arrive but it’s been worth it. My kids love the lunch specials with the assortment of side dishes. Never thought I’d see them eat pickled cabbage or bean sprouts. Who knew?! As well, TOK is super cool about substitutions. I’m not a rice fan so they are always willing to substitute a little fish cake or toasted seaweed instead. The waitress is charming(I think there’s only one) and happy to explain items on the menu. Anyway, great for lunch. BTW, you can call your order in ahead if you are super hungry and don’t want to wait for the food to be cooked to order.

The most angry criticism of any haughty Unilocal reviewer is if a restaurant is too«Americanized». I can’t be snotty and tell you I was stationed in Korea or have a Korean wife or Korean hairdresser, «so I know Korean food,» but I can tell you I eat a lot of Korean food all over. And I am from the San Gabriel Valley, which is pretty much Seoul. Oops, There’s my(delusionally) «cultured» Unilocal user coming out. Anyway, Taste of Korea is good. Not super great, but for the lunch prices, it’s good! I’d give it four stars, but the folks there are super nice and thankful for your business(though, I didn’t ask for crazy things like you entitled folks do, so, YMMV). Lunch specials are reasonably priced with good portions. I had the Djaeji gogi, the spicy pork, which was filling and tastes pretty much the same as you’d find at any Korean restaurant. It comes in a bento box, with sticky rice, just right for chopsticks. While they don’t serve the sheer amount of korean side dishes with the lunch meal that some other Korean restaurants in the Springs do, what they serve is well prepared and tastes great(again, for the price!). Most of all, service is top notch, friendly and accommodating.

Yum, Yum, Yum! Talk about flavor. I tried the spicy bulgogi and it was amazing. I got the lunch special which came with rice and three different salads. I should have ordered to because I devoured the meal. There is so much flavor, but not too spicy. It is close to my work so I will definitely be back. I love that you can call ahead and place an order, that way I can actually enjoy my lunch without having the wait time. I did get it to go, so I am not really sure how their hospitality is. If you are looking for good Korean food, this is the place to go. Don’t let the hole in the wall appearance scare you! Sometimes the hole in the wall is the best place out there!

I have been here a few times. The food is great but a little pricey. That’s the reason for only four stars. The staff is friendly and always makes me feel welcome when I visit. The food actually reminds me of being stationed in South Korea.

This tiny restaurant is a real gem. We are from Douglasville George(suburb of Atlanta) and sadly don’t have a Korean restaurant anywhere near by. So we were pretty excited when we found it through Unilocal.Great food! Great prices! Nuf said.

Now that we’ve been here a couple of times, I think it’s time for a review! Taste of Korea is awesome! I should preface to say we only do take out, and that Taste of Korea has been my first«real» experience with Korean food. Ambience: As far as décor goes, it’s not great, but it is clean. It looks like everything from the restaurant before was used, and it’s not the best look. It’s almost worth docking a star, but the food/cleanliness/service in my opinion makes up for it. Service: So far, every girl we’ve had at the desk area has been sweet and helpful. All have been pretty young, but nonetheless professional and kind. The cook(perhaps owner as well?), is also very nice and hardworking. Food: Delicious! I’m not super familiar with Korean food admittedly(sadly, maybe?), but my brother who is visiting from Korea right now said it was authentic and tasty. Since we do take out, it’s probably worth mentioning the portion sizes are good in my opinion. We haven’t gotten too adventurous yet, and have only ordered Yakimandu, Yachae-Jeun(my favorite) and both spicy and regular bulgogi. All have been hits with the family. Everyone has enjoyed the sides as well. I hope this place stays here for a long time! We will be back.

This is my favorite Korean restaurant in the Springs. They have some amazing spicy bulgogi and their seafood tofu soup is quite savory. When you buy the spicy bulgogi it comes with the traditional side dishes, like kimchee, bean sprouts, etc. The service is good. However, the décor is kind of boring and the location is not that great because it’s on the outskirts of the Springs. It’s just too far away from everything. It would also be nice if they had an alcohol license.

Two years later, second visit, and I’m updating my rating by 1 star … Whether intentional or not, the flavor, texture, and appearance of the food has improved noticeably … No longer bland and Americanized, the entrees appear and taste as I remember them from my days in Kwangju … The Yaki Mandu(Fried Won Tons) appetizers brought back memories of sitting at a rickety wooden table as live chickens ran loose around the hole-in-the-wall, back alley, mom and pop diner … The spicy Bulgogi wasn’t as spicy as I would have liked as it left the kitchen, but there were plenty of sauces to heat things up … Kudos on the improvements over the last couple years … The lunch specials are a pretty good deal … I recommend you try Taste of Korea at least once … definitely dress casual and don’t expect any cloth napkins …

I had been wanting to try this place, I love Bulgogi but this place was a disappointment. I only give this place one star because the Bulgogi meat was not properly cooked, it had a steamed, chewy consistency rather than a nice sear with spices it should have. The meal was rather bland and we ordered the spicy. I asked for chili paste but they only had a red bean spice sauce, which is used on almost all the sides already. I can see why the place was empty on a Friday night at 6:30pm, OVER-PRICED! This place will not last long if they don’t re-think their menu prices. We shared an order of the Bulgogi at $ 14.99 and our waitress asked if we would like extra rice at $ 1.50. Seriously, rice is cheap and if you are charging that much for the entrée, extra rice should not be an extra charge. We left still hungry because we can’t stand the thought of paying for over-priced food that really isn’t that good. IMPORTANTTIP: DONOT go for dinner! The prices are way over-priced for what you can get at half the price for lunch. The pictures don’t lie, check them out and the menu too.

I don’t even know where to begin… Perhaps I should start by saying this is the best Korean food I have had outside of Korea — seriously. To be fair, I have not been to all of the Korean restaurants in Colorado Springs; but after having been to Taste of Korea, I don’t feel the need to seek out any other place. Just as others have mentioned, the Bulgolgi is very tasty. However, the Mackerel is the star of the menu — omg. You are truly missing out if you forgo the mackerel. We had several other dishes as well, but I’m telling you this is the best fish I have had Asian style(of any ethnicity). I will drive all the way back across Colorado Springs from the other side to have this dish again! The proprietors are extremely friendly, the food is made fresh to order(we could hear it being chopped, then sizzling in the kitchen), and I give Taste of Korea two thumbs up for extreme cleanliness(one of my biggest criticisms most everywhere I go). Don’t let the hole-in-the-wall storefront fool you: this café will be a dining pleasure to delight your taste buds! They are readily equipped for takeout, too, if you simply want to stop by and run… The adults, teens, and kids in my family all agree we should go back to Taste of Korea very soon!
