Veda Salon & Spa – On Academy

Stopped in on vacation to get a fresh cut. Hope hooked me up with a new look. I absolutely love it! I looked like a new person immediately. I’m so happy that I booked an appointment with Hope while I was in town! One of my best vacation experiences! Thanks Hope!

I had a wonderful first visit. As a first timer here and on a walk-​in base I was greeted somewhat well. I felt a lack of enthusiasm that I had arrived by the front desk associate. I asked if she has walk in’s available and she said yes one by a «master stylist» at 1:45 for $ 65.00 and one by a «level one stylist» at 2:15 for $ 35.00. I had no idea what that meant but a noticeable price difference. I asked her to clarify what all she just said given it was my first time. Aveda stylists are set up in such a way of level of experience and time on the salon floor = the style «level.»
I received a complimentary hot towel and a refreshment while I waited for my stylist. As a newbie I also got a little lotion bottle.
My time arrived and my stylist called my name. She had a warm and welcoming personality and took time to review my wants and needs. She offered a quick aromatherapy massage (which was fantastic) then took me back for a shampoo, THE BEST SHAMPOO I HAVE EVER HAD! Oh my gosh. No words. I was so relaxed. Another warm towel for my wet head and back to her station. She talked through her approach and educated me on what I needed for hair products that may help with my dryness and breakage. She showed me where, and how it looks to prove why the product would be really helpful. She styled me up after my cut and sent me off in full tamed mane style. I felt really rewarded after my visit. I will return for my next cut in May. Hair down the best salon experience I have ever had. And it smells so good in there. Ahhhhh, zen mode achieved.

I got a massage from Kristi and it was absolutely perfect. She was kind, very intuitive and very good.
She washes your feet and rubs you in an aromatic oil blend. She even used a special blue oil on my recently injured ankle. Best massage I have had in a while. Do yourself a favor and go to Kristi.
If you go, and you should, request the hot pack, the room is a little cold without it.

I had a tight scheduled day in a busy life — they got me an appointment an hour later. I am a «supercuts» kind of girl — or at least I WAS. I have not gone to a salon in years, and I am grateful I went yesterday. The experience was FANTASTIC and my hair looks WONDERFUL! I am so happy with the outcome! $ 40 for cut, + $ 25 for moisture treatment (which I HIGHLY recommend in Colorado!) — worth every penny and way more.

Sometimes I really wonder if the front staff knows what they’re doing. I’ve never had a smooth scheduling, check in or out. Maybe a smile would be nice? –1 star

Thank you to my wonderful hair stylist, Summer, for helping me beautify my hair!!! She did a wonderful job and went out of her way to make sure I was happy with how my hair looked! Thank you for being so sweet! I highly recommend her color, cuts, and style… And also if you’re looking for the best head massage during your shampoo!

I would give two and a half stars if it was available because it was just not worth my time in the amount of money. In my opinion a complete rip off for $ 180 in such a sub-​par experience. It irritated me that the couples massage package was advertised as $ 165 in the pamphlet I was given with the gift card within the last year and they’ve already up to their price to 180.
Overpriced and underwhelmed. It seems to take several times of trying to actually get a couples massage but we finally were able to book one an acceptable time that works for my husband and I before our gift cards expired. We were asked to show up 15 minutes early as we were new clients. There seem to be a lot of waiting around… Spent over 20 minutes sitting by the fireplace before we were even graded and given a foot bath. The locker room area to change was not well kept… The towels and robes were messy and all over the place. The toilet in the bathroom I went in was dirty and not flush… Kind of gross. They offer these oversized incredibly uncomfortable plastic slippers that I opted to just walk around in my socks.
Our masseuses were just awesome but hardly worth $ 180 and we would definitely not spend that kind of money to come for 50 minutes expecially when I was told it was an hour. During our massage there was the clinking of glasses on the other side of the wall and a door that slams at least 5 times to my count somewhere in the vicinity. The carpet that runs along the main hallway of the spa area is dirty and has spots all over it. The bathroom itself is tattered and the walls in the stalls are beaten up and need a paint job. For the prices charged I would think the whole experience would encompass absolute relaxation at the premium price they charge.
Oh and to top it off the lady that checked us in was a flat out bitch when I asked if they offered military discount she said «NO!» rudely and didn’t even look up from the computer and when I asked why… She said «i don’t know you would have to ask the owner…» Hardly an acceptable way to address a client

On Thursday Dec 3 I had an up-​do appointment with Kayla who also did my makeup. I attended a formal event and received so many compliments on my up-​do and makeup. I can not thank her enough.
Today, December 5, I had another appointment with Macy for a full highlight and cut. She did a wonderful job and was pretty inexpensive. Macy gave me a neck/​shoulder massage before staring any treatment, which was a huge surprise. Also while my hair was processing she gave me a hand massage. I definitely will be recommending both of these ladies and this salon.

Had a great spa-​like experience. Enjoyed a gel manicure and good conversation with the lady who took care of me. Room for improvement on how the front desk scheduled me is all :)

I love this salon, and I love Aveda products. If you need a cut and color, ask for Summer. She’s amazing!

Summer is the best she never over cuts and her color is amazing. There are different level of stylist. At aveda salons. So when you make an apt. Ask for a high level to get the best cut. So happy

If Aveda knew how BAD veda salon is they would not allow them to sell Aveda products!
I have gotten a really bad hair cut from Hope. I had a creative designer from the Nevada location tell me to use Dawn dish detergent on my hair to lighten it up!
Beware this place is way over priced, quality of service really sucked and the place is dirty.
Please note there are real Aveda salons in c/​s area just not veda, that place is truly a joke.

I sooooooo happy I ignored the negative reviews about this place! I had a wonderful experience here today! Not only did my hair turn out great, but they made me feel super special, from the awesome hot green tea to the hand and arm massage while I waited for my highlights to set. A little pricier then I’m use to, but so worth it! Thanks Chelsea!

I would put no stars if I could. Worst experience with a salon I’ve ever had. Bad hair cut, bad color, and the salon refused to fix their mistake. To spend $ 300 with a master Styliest and get an equivalent to a cost cutter hair cut is expectable. Will never be back.

I am always pleased with my cut and color from Sam. When checking in I am always offered something to drink and a hot wash cloth for your hands. I am always offered a hand massage and a scalp massage.

I wanted to give Jackie some serious amazing feedback for my wonderful appointment with her last week. My husband and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary and I went to get my first Brazillian wax ever. I was quite intimidated but the warm atmosphere and environment really calmed me down during my wait. She was very detailed and friendly. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you so much Jackie!

I really love coming to this Veda — the front desk ladies always greet me with a smile & Shannon O always takes great care of me! I’ve been to quite a few different salons in town & the day I found Shannon about 10 – 11 years ago is the day my search ended! She is amazing & has a kick ass instinct when it comes to what I want! I can’t imagine going anywhere else!

I’ve been going here for 2 years now and haven’t had a bad experience. The service isn’t exactly amazing, but they do a great job cutting hair and dying.
Any level stylist is great for cuts, but make sure to request a more advanced stylist for color. They really help you decide on what will work best for your hair rather than just slapping the dye you think you want and ending up with an awful orange instead of honey brown. But also remember, the higher level they are, the more expensive.

As always, fantastic haircut with Summer at Veda! I gave her a few parameters and left the rest up to her– and got the perfect cut!

Very poor customer service. Choppy, bad haircut
My daughter who is young wanted a short haircut the girl did a nice job. When we went back a second time. The haircut was awful. The next day someone called to check how we liked the service. I told her I didn’t want to hurt the lady’s feeling but the haircut was awful. She said to come in and have someone else «fix» it. When I suggested a different lady, she made the appointment then said I would be charged the «difference.» I told her I had already spent a great amount of money and her hair looks awful. She said she would check with the «manager» to see if they would «wave» the difference. I get a call later saying that my appointment was cancelled with the requested artist just a day or two from now and that a lower level artist was what they could place me with but not for another 6 days during my daughters school hours. I buy all aveda products there for my home and get my hair done there. When I made the initial call to book the haircut, I requested someone who would do a great job with a 12 year old girl and was proficient with this style of haircut. I did not ask for a specific level. At that point, I was annoyed and just said nevermind, I’ll find someone to fix it. She said… «ok» and hung up. I won’t be back

My hair was BUTCHERED. All I went in for was a trim and my layers cleaned up and it turned out terrible. There was a 3 inch difference between my top layer and the next layer and that was it. On top of that, the top layer had noticeable harsh lines/​edges. I haven’t been able to wear my hair all the way down or straight since. It’s taken 5 months to grow out and it will take multiple hair cuts to fix. Very upset with my experience.
