When I arrived and noticed cigarette butts in the hallway I knew it was a bad sign.
I booked my stay on Hotwire and I wan’t able to request a non-​smoking room. However, from what I could tell the majority of the rooms were smoking.
All my clothes soaked up the odor of the room reeked of cigarettes. The smell made me congested, I had trouble sleeping and my lips got so chapped they stared bleeding.
The only positive was the staff was upbeat and friendly when I checked in. Unfortunately, that won’t change the fact that this place is one of the most depressing, disgusting places I’ve ever stayed. Avoid at all costs.

I stayed here instead of the Super 8 because it was a little more pricey and figured it might be nicer. Incorrect. The room was dingy and depressing, the bed was hard as a rock, and the blanket was so thin that I shivered all night. The bathroom didn’t have conditioner or lotion, the water pressure sucked, and the towels were like using old dish rags. Our room smelled like cigs despite being a non-​smoking room, and the «free breakfast» consisted of granola bars and apples or bananas. To top it all off, a fire alarm woke us up in the morning because someone was over-​cooking bacon in their suite. Seriously regret staying here and would love my money back.

I was going to give this hotel three stars. It isn’t the cleanest, the staff is a little dicey, my shampoo won’t lather because the water is so hard… but the location across from the park is awesome and I really wanted to love it.
Until this evening. When I found this nasty little poisonous brown recluse spider in my bathtub. It’s late, I’ve got to head out tomorrow morning, don’t want to move all my stuff tonight. I wonder how I’ll sleep in this place. And they tell me they just had Orkin here this week. Really unhappy at this point.

This hotel is obviously made for the business traveler who will be in town for a while.
The rooms are almost like mini apartments and feature a sink, microwave, dishwasher and fridge. The bathroom has a couple of soap bars, but no shampoo or lotion (I brought mine with me luckily.) Otherwise it’s like a normal hotel room. Bed, tv with limited channels and some spotty wifi.
It’s not the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed in and truthfully the only time I spent in it was when I was sleeping, but it was clean and the employees were polite and helpful.
If you’re looking for an inexpensive quick stay, this is a good place.

I stayed here because I was in town for a friend’s wedding and needed lodging that would fit my broke college student budget. Because it was part of a chain and the photos on the website looked nice, I booked a room for one night. I was excited about their reasonable rates – $ 60 a night, yes please! – but upon checking in I realized why it’s so cheap. The room consisted of a queen bed (hard as a rock), a bathroom, a TV, and a kitchenette. The TV only had about 15 channels, one of which had no sound. The kitchenette came with a basic set of dishes that were all filthy.
I happened to bring my own shampoo, etc. out of habit, and it was a good thing I did – this hotel did not supply any toiletries other than soap. *HOWEVER*, you could purchase shampoo, razors, toothbrushes and more in the vending machine down the hall for ridiculously high prices. A package of Ramen noodles was $ 1.50. Come on now. On an unrelated but relevant note, I also encountered an indestructible cockroach in the bathroom later that night.
BONUS!!! Free wifi. Huzzah.

The bathroom smelled of urine. I found one ant in the bathroom. I can’t stand insects in the house or in any hotel. I also hate having a bathroom that smells of urine. The TV had some channels that didn’t work. The heater was loud! This place fares much worse than the Homestead Studio Suites in Overland Park.
