Very very slow service. Stood at hostess stand waiting for a table, manager walked up and said key me get you a waitress just stand here she will be with you? Where they do that at? Waited 15min for drinks and 5min for food! Soon as we ordered food it was out right away Will not be back

Ordered a couple milk shakes, apps and burgers. Milk shakes were great, but how hard is it to mess up a milk shake. The burgers were just ok… nothing really speical at all… our apps never came, it was 2pm on a saturday, the place wasnt packed. No wait to get in but some how the kitchen staff was way behind we were told. So we cancled the order of the app. If i was in the mood for a burger i woud pick almost every other place over this place… just not worth the price we paid.

Modern chic ambience. I loved that the music was actually from the past decade unlike most places in Columbia. Our waiter was charming and helpful. The kitchen and bar were incredibly slow. It took almost 20 minutes to get my drink and I didn’t have the opportunity to get my appetizer order in until I’d been sitting there for 30 minutes. I didn’t get my dinner until 1 hr and 45 min after arriving. It took forever to get the check and get out the door. Normally waiting doesn’t bother me too much, but I had my child with me and had arrived early thinking we’d be in and out before bedtime. Needless to say, there was quite a bit of screaming coming from my table as a result. I would recommend leaving the kids at home because 2 hours is a long time for a child(or fidgety adult) to sit. Valet was quick, and hooray for it being complimentary. Now on to the food. I’m normally not a mixed drink girl but sinceI got there early enough for happy hour and was enjoying the warm spring breeze, I figured I’d indulge. The skinny vodka basil lemonade was exactly what I wanted. I don’t like overly sweet drinks and since this was«skinny,» it had less sugar, but still had just enough strawberry to make it enjoyable. I love basil lemonade on a hot day, so this was a perfect combination. Best part? The bartender customized it to make it more tart than sweet(translation: more alcohol to mixer ratio). I would go back to this restaurant just for that drink. A+! For appetizers, I got the 3 way combo and selected the fried green tomatoes, sweet potato fries, and truffle Parmesan fries. The truffle Parmesan fries were just okay– nothing out-of-this-world, but the sweet potato fries were so good I practically inhaled them in under a minute(but this could also be due to the fact that I was starving after waiting so long for our food). Fried green tomatoes were good– I appreciated that they were bacon-free, making them vegetarian-friendly. For dinner, I had the veggie black bean burger. It was good, definitely better than the veggie burgers at Carolina Ale House and the Flying Saucer, but not knock-your-socks-off good. It needed more flavor, maybe a bit more garlic and onion powder. Also, a whole wheat bun would be a good option because most people who would order a bean burger are probably health-conscious. Despite the wait, I’ll likely go back for drinks and apps, just sans kid. Happy hour specials are just too good to beat, and who doesn’t love outdoor seating in this weather?

This was super disappointing. The burger was bland at best. Really, no flavor at all. The service was barely ok.

Fantastic food and great service. I was pleased to be served by a guy named ricky! He took great care of me, although i think the burger of the week needs a new name maybe a lord of the rings reference.

This was my first time at Grill Marks. It’s a very cool place. Nice atmosphere, great service, very good food. They have a large cocktail list and a great bartender. Our server was very nice and efficient. My friend and I split an order of Fried green tomatoes. She had a Hawaiian punch burger, and I had a 4 cheese Burger with no bun. We also split a side of skinny fries. Everything was fresh and delicious. I will definitely be back.

We have been to Grill Marks three times now. They are definitely consistent in that the burgers are good, but be prepared to wait as each visit took between 30 min to an hour for our food to arrive. The fried pickles are good, especially with the dipping sauce, but it seemed rather pricey for less than a dozen pickles. The fried green tomatoes are bland, but the dipping sauce helps. The Hawaiian Punch and the French Connection are excellent burgers. The house made infused cocktails are delicious. Bar tenders are friendly and attentive.

Yes yes yes! This place is amazing! After hearing so many positive things about this place, we had to check it out. It was friday night and they were pretty busy, so we sat outside. It was cold, but they have heaters on the porch. So, it was fine. The waitress was great. Super friendly and knowledgeable. I had the bleu cheese burger — and holy shit it was SO good! I also had the MARKarita — it was SO strong. Almost too strong. You only need one and you’ll be stumbling to your über.

Marks was absolutely delicious! Reasonable pricing for great food! Came here for lunch and it was fantastic. The burgers were great but the cheese fries were beyond delicious. They came with a chipotle ranch sauce and it was amazing. Lastly, the waiter was very friendly. Definitely my new go to spot for lunch.

Was walking around Gervais and saw this place that has been in Greenville for a few years. Looked like they just opened as it was not crowded(maybe 10 Customers) and had a nice patio. Hostess pulled herself away from sitting at the bar long enough to seat me — then I sat there for 20 mins with no one even coming near. Finally just left and they probably haven’t even noticed.

One of the best premium burgers I’ve ever tried. Extensive gourmet burger menu. Gluten free buns available. Try the Perfectly Dressed Burger, White Russian Shaketail, fried pickles, and the Parmesan truffle fries. Chic atmosphere with wood burning fireplaces.

Grill Marks is an ALLAMERICAN burger joint. Located downtown, this place is better than your typical burger, but not as fancy as your gourmet burger. Prices range from $ 6.99 — $ 12. Because this isn’t a gourmet burger joint, you should expect that. The buns are fantastic, but the burger is average. All together, with the price, the quality and the taste of the burger, this place was way above my expectations. Grill also has a very diverse selection of milkshakes if you want to feel a little chubby bunny. These burgers do not come with sides so you are going to have to order your fries separately. Since we were a group, we decided to order the 3-way(3 orders of sides) and were blown away with the sauces and fries. Just keep in mind that I felt like the sides weren’t very large portions, but I just eat a lot… so it might just be me. Overall — very delicious. I would come back again and for the price, you get a lot for your buck as far as taste.

The burger was awesome! The service was terrible. It was a really slow night, but none of the tables on the patio were clean and the waitress seemingly had only 3 tables, but it was tough to get her attention. The professional bartender must have been on vacation because the Manhattans we ordered were just meh. My friend loves it, so this must have been an off night. I won’t ask to return, however.

Most important first. Its al a carte. The burgers are just burgers. If you want fries, pony up an extra 3 to 6 bucks. The atmosphere is great and the open patio in front is great a contribution to the Vista’s curb appeal. Our group of four all had no complaints with our burgers, and 1 salad. All cooked as ordered and presented on the plate very well. That’s about where the good experiences end. The service, starting from the hostess was a mess. Right from the start there seemed to be a bit of confusion, and the staff was struggling to sit 3 groups in an empty restaurant. The waitress forgot drink orders. Upon delivery of the food, the staff seemed to be completely clueless about what orders she was carrying, «this one has onion straws, I think». Perhaps in time the staff will wise up, although after being open for several months now, I wouldn’t count on it.

Being on a low carb diet is not easy when it comes to dining out. However, this place has great options and allows me to meet my needs. Very friendly staff and the burger was cooked excellent. Only issue is I ordered no bun(naked) and it came with a bun. Not a big issue though since the waiter and food were both excellent. I will definitely be back again! Keep up the excellent work!

The atmosphere here is really cool, the open garage like doors, the fully stocked bar and open, high ceiling is really inviting. I like the different feel it has. The burger and drink lost are both impressive. It was hard to choose both. I went with a seasonal draft beer, thinking a milkshake would be too heavy this particular afternoon, but I will definitely return to try. I got the café at poivre burger which is a coffee and peppercorn crusted party with Cremini mushrooms, Brie, crispy opinions and poivre sauce. It was pretty good… I expected the burger itself to burst with flavor, but it was minimally seasoned. You have to buy any sides a la carte and I wasn’t starving so I just got coleslaw. I think a burger without fries is a little silly but whatever. The service was slow, the server was nice but no one was in a hurry. I wasn’t either so it didn’t matter much. Will be back for a banana milkshake and to try the bone marrow burger! Maybe not together though…

So they’ve worked out the kinks that’s for sure. Our last two visits were great. To bad the coupons given for our terrible experience expired, but the burgers are definitely legit and worth trying. Prefer the fat fries to skinny. Medium is perfect cook as they say on the menu. Good beer selection!

The garage doors, indoor/outdoor seating is pretty neat. I showed up Friday night around 8p and was told there was a 20 minute wait even though there were several tables open; something about the kitchen being backed up. Why not seat me and take my money for drinks while waiting instead of standing out front? Anyway, once seated our waiter was quick to ask what we wanted to drink and came back often to check on us. After we ordered our food literally came out in five minutes — this takes me back to the strange waiting time. The burgers were good, but for being their main draw they’re still subpar compared to staples like The Whig, Bourbon, etc. The buns are great, and the dressing is nice but I feel like the burgers were a bit bland and I even got the coffee seasoned one. I really enjoyed the bleu pimento cheese fries though, yum! One note I would like to make: the waiter checked my ID for the beer I ordered and recognized it was my birthday and treated me to a brownie sandwich dessert. The brownies and ice cream are made in house and were the business. In fact, I just changed it from three to four stars while recalling this delectable treat. The ice cream is delicious — those milk shakes must be SPECTACULAR. I’ll be back for one! This place is a little pricey for a burger joint, but with the free dessert the price was okay. Note that the burger comes with no sides; they instead, try to get you into a three way. We paid over $ 40 for two burgers, beers and one three way — the free dessert made it better.

Food was pretty bad. My daughters had Mac and Cheese. They burnt the noodles on the bottom of the pan and threw cheese on it and brought it out. It was brown Mac and cheese. Very cool ambiance. But the the staff don’t care about quality. ***update*** After seeing my Unilocal review, the Manager came to the table and seemed defensive. Although he removed the meals for my daughters from the bill we did NOT have an «overall good experience» as he has written. We won’t be returning.

Finally had a chance to check out Grill Marks in the Vista and I’m a fan! My friend and I arrived around 6pm on a Thursday and were seated immediately. Our server greeted us quickly and was attentive throughout the meal.(Someone that I guess was management stopped by the table at one point to see how we were doing too.) I knew I wanted to try out a burger and was considering adding the pimento cheese to it but all pimento cheese is different so I wasn’t sure. I asked if I could have a sample of it and the waitress said sure and brought it over within a couple of minutes. The pimento cheese isn’t spicy and was very creamy so I decided to go for it. My friend ordered the 4 cheese burger and we decided to share the«Three Way» appetizer(getting a little scandalous there, Grill Marks!) and chose the white truffle parm fries, sweet potato fries, and fried green tomatoes. We received the appetizer first(we asked for it first) and started to chow down. The parm fries were our favorite. They come with a mayo garlic dipping sauce. The fries are great on their own and you don’t even need the sauce but I kept using it anyway. I love to dip! The fried green tomatoes were a close second for me. They had a good coating to tomato ratio, were crunchy on the outside and piping hot! The sweet potato fries come with an orange cinnamon dipping sauce and the sauce is the star of that show. I got a «Perfectly Dressed» burger(no onion) and added pimento cheese. I asked for the burger to be medium well and it came out well done but was still juicy. It was a good burger but I felt like all the flavor came from the pimento cheese and the pickles. There wasn’t a lot of flavor from the actual burger patty. I ate a little piece of it by itself to check. I’m definitely interested in coming back to try some different burgers… I’m looking at you Low Country Burger. This place is a bit pricey. The burgers do not come with a side of anything so be prepared to order an «appetizer» if you want something to go with it. I paid over $ 16 for a burger, ½ the three way and I only got a water. Grab some friends, share and appetizer and chow down on a burger. Grill Marks is definitely worth checking out.
