Great burgers and shakes, family owned and operated is also a plus Best place to get a burger and shake in Columbia for a reasonable price Con: no TV’s to watch the game

This place is become a regular for us. The food is good and the service is usually friendly. ;) the ice cream cones are HUGE and only a buck.

Decent burgers and fries were great. The medium was plenty big for me even though it’s only a 2-oz patty. Cherry milkshakes — nice and chunky.

After moving out here from the Chicago area we have been having a hard time finding a good greasy spoon burger joint, but dang this place sure nailed it! Best burger I’ve had from Lawrenceburg to Brentwood! The only downfall is they are quite over priced, it cost $ 42 for 2 adults and 2 children under ten for one meal. When we feel like splurging and getting the best burger around we will definitely be back!

Food is good esp the chicken. It does not seem very clean. To top it off the person cooking the food was blowing smoke from an e-cigarette. I wont be going back!

Not bad… burgers, chicken, fries, and ice cream. What you would expect from a burger stand. Staff was very friendly. Our only gripe was it could be cleaned better.

On Thursday July 10th, 2014… Today we stopped for a late lunch at 2pm at «The Jumbo House» in Columbia, TN. it’s an old fashioned dairy queen style restaurant. Tony got a Johnny Burger with cheese and the works with onion rings and I ordered a Chili dog with mustard and onions. sharing his onion rings. Noël got her meal at Taco Bell down the road. We ate outside at the picnic tables. The food was really good. The chili dog was really messy and the wiener was jumbo sized and deep fried…(((very good deep fried)) and the chili had beans in it and was really good. Tony said his Johnny Burger was really good. The bun was toasted and the sandwich was double patty with extra melty cheese. mayo, mustard, onions, tomato, lettuce and pickles. smelled awesome but my hot dog was so large. I couldn’t even take a bite. but he said he would eat it again. it was a large burger. The restaurant was really packed and is small on the inside. but I like it alot.

Been eating at the Jumbo House as long as I can remember. I was raised eating their broasted chicken and jumbo cheese burgers. Nothing fancy just good food. A local landmark.

Best tater tots ever here!!! Crisp and not at all soggy the tots set themselves above the AMAZING burgers(the best fast food burgers I’ve ever had) and really good milkshakes and malts(they make them there and they have awesome flavor options like peanut butter and caramel). If you go, definitely get the tots, you will do yourself a disservice don’t!!!

Lots of options on the menu(mostly fried, of course), food was excellent and a great value! I love the Johnny, but have also had the grilled chicken, and fried chicken livers. A little something for everyone and ice cream for dessert :)

Not bad, not good… the burgers are terribly bland and made from cheap, frozen patties. I did like the crinkle-cut fries. The fact that it’s in a small Southern town and wasn’t packed just after church on a Sunday should’ve been a clue. The Johnny Burger is huge and I didn’t finish it, but I can’t say it was so good I just had to have more. If you’re just looking to be full this place is great.

Sure it’s located next to a gas station; and yeah, the sanitation is somewhat questionable; and yes, they prefer the darkside of regional carbonated beverages(Pepsi), but I’m willing to look past all of those things because these greasy burgers are amazing. Their flagship item seems to be «broasted» chicken — at least, that’s what all the signs say. But I have no idea what in the Sam Hill«broasted» means, so I stick to the classic cheeseburger. Topped with American(or any cheese of your choice), they plop these bad boys on the grill top and they come off hot, greasy, and delicious. Also, they have bomb-ass curly fries to boot. If that doesn’t work for you, they also offer crinkle cut fries and onion rings, all of which are tasty. Milkshakes are also available, as are jalapeño hushpuppies, and foot long chili dogs. Plus, they have an awesome, retro-looking t-shirt available for only $ 10. Rock on Jumbo House. You rule.
