I love their fried chicken. The have great bbq too. Not much on vegetables just cold claw and bbq bake beans. Staff is very friendly.

Talk about bringing back memories! Food was super amazing!!! Pulled pork or fried chicken, baked beans, mac and cheese, green beans (actually seasoned), banana pudding, and even fried pork skins. The drink is included in the price (tea or water) and it’s ALL YOU CAN EAT!!! the price I thought was reasonable for all the pork you can hold… staff is nice and friendly, bathrooms are clean. Can wait to come back for some more home cookin.

Good pulled pork. Not a huge fan of the original sauce, zero spice to it and too sweet, needs some more salt and spice. The other sides all turned out a little too sweet too, including the potato salad (creamy consistency with potato chunks, sweet relish), and the hash also sweet. Hush puppies were good, but have had better. Over all, good deal though, $ 8 for a plate of massive portions of meat, hash, and potato salad.

Everything here is great! Definitely some of the best hash and rice in town. I think this might be my new favorite BBQ spot!!!

BBQ is solid with mammoth portions for the sandwiches. The pork grinds aren’t have bad but cost too much. Overall I would definitely come back for lunch.

Can you beat all you can eat BBQ for $ 10.95? The only meat options were fried chicken and pulled pork, but the sides were good. The fried chicken was fried and battered well, but I expected more from the pulled pork. They claimed to have award winning hash that was an 80 year recipe, but it wasn’t anything more than a filler to me. I’m from California and have had better barbecue, maybe I was expecting too much from the south.

Good BBQ buffet. Their original sauce is really good. Potato salad was great. Green beans were okay. We had mixed views on the hash at our table. I enjoyed it, but some others said it was a little too sweet. What makes this place so great is the customer service. Very friendly environment. Will definitely be back.

The best fried chicken that I’ve ever had. It’s amazing. Gene is also a great guy. I brought my girlfriend from Australia and he loaded us up with samples of all the food.

My rookie visit to the Pig came today and I was impressed. There is nothing fancy here, paper plates and plastic ware but the food is top notch:
Brunswick Stew — 3/​5, probably the only weak link, good but I’ve had better
Pulled Pork −4÷5, lean, smoky goodness
BBQ Beans — 5/​5, melt in your mouth goodness!
Fried Chicken — 5/​5, this chicken is what fried chicken is supposed to be, amazing!
Hush Puppies — 5/​5, these things could be seriously addictive, the best I’ve ever had in a restaurant!
Sweet tea on the table and a serious down home style but this spot is well worth your time and money.

First visit I probably would come back. It’s a bit pricy for the buffet compared to other BBQ buffets (lil pig or dooc’s) because of the limited selection. The fried chicken was crisp and tasty so was hush puppies and slaw. The folks working there are very hospitable and the place was tidy.

Amazing fried chicken! So crispy on the outside and moist chicken. Oh my goodness! I don’t think I’ve had chicken that was crispier than this. And hush puppies… ! Wow! Amazing. Also, my first experience with South Carolina Hash.
Really glad I stopped by and walking distance to University of South Carolina campus. :)

Superb taste! This is what southern food is all about. They put out sweet tea on all the tables. The cashier was courteous and the seating area was wide. A good place to hang out. I highly recommend for about $ 11 you eat all you can.

Being raised as a South Carolina True Southener, there are a couple of things that you must choose as a ‘Favorite’-one being your College Football Allegiance and another-​your choice in styles of BBQ! It doesn’t get any better than the Palmetto Pig, for sure! The Bar-​B-​Que Is lean and flavorful, the ‘Red’ Hash has a very tasty smooth texture and the Macaroni and Cheese is second to none! I am generally not a fan of Buffets at all due to cleanlines, freshness, etc. but the staff always ensures that the food is fresh, hot and the area is cleaned constantly through service. Also, the newest manager, Jamie, is just a Ray of Sunshine!!! He is so friendly, welcoming to the customers, walks around every time that we are there to assure customers are happy, so helpful and makes you appreciate the fact that the Importance of Customer Service still exist in 2014!

Pork was excellent this time not over salted like before.
All was good!

Good bbq, sauce, mac n cheese and green beans. Chicken and hush puppies were a little dry but I will be back! Also needs music or louder TV.

After coming here several times, I’ve come to enjoy this dive of a restaurant. The guy that runs the place is always willing to bring you out fresh food when it is ready. They are only open certain times of the day, so check their hours before you go. However, the food is delicious here and the sweet tea is the best. The hushpuppies are excellent. And the BBQ is awesome! And for about $ 10, how could you go wrong?

They have pictures of sweet southern tea on the menu, buffet style all you can eat kinda place.
Pork is smoked for hours. Staff is happy and courteous.

One word: All-​You-​Can-​Eat-​Hash! Ok, maybe that’s more than one word, but your mind will go numb when you realize you’re staring at an all-​you-​can-​eat buffet that has HASH on it!
This is a BBQ staple that not all regions have recognized and adopted. It’s worth the visit alone if you’ve never had this.
Pulled pork was very solid with original, hot, and mustard sauces to accompany. Fried chicken was golden. Veggies and side items were all fresh. Sweet tea is on the table for you so you never get thirsty, and the banana pudding reminds me of my grandmother’s!
Community seating means you can get in and out quickly, and maybe even meet a new friend.
Very happy with my choice to eat at the Palmetto Pig!

Really good mustard based BBQ sauce. Had the buffet. Pulled pork is fantastic. Smokey and tender. Visiting from Colorado I really miss hush puppies and these guys sure scratched that itch.
Everyone is friendly and the family style seating is fun.
