Pearle Vision

Dr. Marcus Hood is an excellent optometrist. I can’t speak for the store part of this Pearle Vision, but the optometrist is caring and his assistant Judy is similarly caring and kind.

Dr. Hood cares. Little more pricey than other discount eye places but he knows what he is doing. Has an extensive knowledge of the different types of materials and products out there and is able to combine his skill, knowledge, and available resources to ensure you have the right contacts or glasses for what you do. As a firefighter he makes sure that my eyes have a fighting chance while wearing contacts for 24 – 48 hours straight and watches for the issues associated with my profession and regular degenerative diseases that affect us. Have not had a bad experience with any of the staff. I primarily see Dr. Hood however the whole staff so far over the last 4 years has been nothing but profesional, kind, and accommodating. This location has lost my business forever. After spending hundreds of dollars between me and my wife’s glasses they failed to give me simple customer service when I needed it. I had an issue with one of my transitional lenses, I went in an one sales associate took the time to examine the lenses under there equipment. She told me it was the film peeling. When I went back in to pick up the new lenses I wanted to make sure if it happened again I wouldn’t be liable for the cost of the lense. We’ll their poor customer service kicked in. Instead of actually examining the glasses, another associate and the optometrist decided it was better to just blame me for not treating the glasses properly. They insisted on saying that I scratched them (no scratches on lenses) and when I asked the guy Vann to check under the equipment he thought it was a good idea to be condescending and insult my intelligence. Long story short they will no longer get any of my money nor do I recommend anyone else to spend theirs.

I haven’t ordered glasses from this location (I wear contacts 99% of the time), but I highly recommend the optician, Dr. Marcus Hood. Both he and his staff are very helpful and pleasant. Dr. Hood clearly explained everything he was doing and why. I’ve been seeing eye doctors since third grade and I’ve never had someone so thorough. Their rates are reasonable with no hidden costs. I’d suggest calling them to get an estimate. Even if I could save $ 20 by going to a big-​box type place, I wouldn’t. It’s worth the extra money to have someone I trust!

It’s not often I will say a visit to a doctor was pleasant, but my appointment here really was! All of the staff I came in contact with were very pleasant and helpful. Dr. Hood was great. He was straight forward, friendly and explained everything clearly.
I was very happy with the selection of available frames. The woman that helped me with them (I forgot her name) was very nice and knowledgeable.
I will definitely be returning here for my next eye exam.

Dr. Hood and the office team are wonderful. Everyone here is very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I have been coming here for quite a few years now. They have a nice selection of glasses as well.

As a long time glasses and contacts wearer, I can safely say that Pearle Vision in Columbia Mall is by far the best place I’ve ever gone for my eye needs.
From start to finish, the process was easy and efficient. Each employee I dealt with (including the Eye Doctor) were professional and knowledgeable, without giving me any hard sell. They ran my insurance and gave me different options based on what was covered versus the current store specials, and worked out a great deal for me.
I love my glasses, and will continue to use this Pearle location in the future.
