I was walking through Sears and I happened to notice a 50% off sale on eyeglasses(a sale which they have frequently). I had some unspent flex money burning a hole in my pocket so I decided to give Sears a try. The optical department is a little on the small side, but I was able to find some glasses I liked. Next, I went in for an eye exam. I was impressed with the optometrist — an older, portly gentlemen who I suspect was officially retired but working part time for a little extra money. The optometrist spent half an hour running through various tests to make sure my eyes were healthy and my prescription accurate. Prescription in hand, I purchased the eyeglasses at Sears. A week later I returned to pick the glasses up and for the final fitting. That’s when the trouble started. I’ve worn glasses for a long time(a length of time best measured in decades) but have never given the final fitting much thought: I go in, the professional fits the glasses, and I leave happy. Maybe I need a minor adjustment after six months. Well, this time the«professional» did not do a very good job fitting the glasses. I’ve returned a total of FOUR times to get the glasses adjusted for various reasons. And they still don’t fit! After the second adjustment, I took a good look at my glasses and discovered that the nose grips didn’t even touch my nose! The entire weight of the frame was resting on the bridge of my nose(thinking: so that’s why the bridge of my nose looks like it’s about to get ulcerated). Also, the frame was lopsided. The third visit fixed those two problems, but other issues remained. During my fourth visit, the lady turned around to adjust my glasses. I don’t even think she really did anything. I think she just pretended to adjust the glasses.

Bad service and rude unprofessional front desk and management help. Spend a little extra for better service. Also be sure to ask about the retun policy — it’s not a good one.
