Great place to go for the kids. Reserve your tickets ahead of time and it’s definitely worth doing the whole experience. The kids loved making their own flavor of ice cream.

I was sold on unlimited ice cream tasting. I mean who isn’t? 8 rotating flavors, unlimited scoops — my husband and I tried all flavors and more(Beach bodies, maybe next year?). We loved all the interactive games(create your own flavor, packaging, and commercial)! Although we came on a holiday weekend, the lines didn’t take too long! Tea — there were flavors we’d never seen before! Wished there were more flavors to sample and they gave a bigger cup. The ice cream was a generous scoops, the tea was a two sips sample cup. Overall — we were happy with the turkey hill tasting experience without the lab. It took us about two hours from start to finish. Definitely recommend checking out!

Wow what a place, went there w/kids on Saturday, it was a little crowded but did we have fun, make sure you get the whole package that includes the food lab-yes making your own ice-cream, design the package, pick the flavors and do your own commercial, the kids did not want to leave and were asking when we would be coming again

Aimed towards kids. But way worth it. Cute interactive stations with educational benefits. All you can drink tea and eat ice cream! Then the make your own ice cream was a blast and def the best part. I wish I coulda taken it home, but too far away. So we all chowed down and overloaded with ice cream lol!

We had a blast. It’s a self guided tour perfect for kids and teaches and explains through great displays how ice cream is made. Of course since everyone comes for the free ice cream, they serve that immediately and they are constantly switching the flavors. Super fresh ice cream you need to be careful not to over eat. The tour is amazing I kiss if they ever get past the ice cream station. There is also delicious ice tea to wash it all down. It’s a great child friendly tour not long and boring. There is a nice gift shop and picnic tables with a gas station and convenient store which also sells turkey hill ice cream as well.

First the staff. They were very helpful and friendly. The girl at the counter took the time to give us a map of Columbia PA. She marked off areas to eat and places to visit. During the lab Shawn was top notch, entertaining and making sure everyone had a great time. He handled everything and everyone with patience and a smile. The Experience was smooth. Make your own flavor was the best part. You make the ice cream, make the packaging and make a commercial. A lot of information and a really good time. About 45 mins to an hour for the tour and about 30 mins for the lab. A lot of fun

Boring & Unorganized. If your group has no little children, save your time and money — don’t go. You won’t miss a thing. There s literally nothing for adults to do there for $ 15 admission. Yes, you get to made your own ice cream that looks(and tastes) like milk shake. I threw away mine right after I left the«ice cream lab».

Awesome place. Way better than expected. So much for kids to do and learn. The people are so nice and helpful. The ice cream lab is really fun and informative. We had a great time. Cute little gift shop, as well. Worth the visit. Check out the house that looks like a shoe near by!

We decided to check this out on a Saturday morning to get out of the house. We had a coupon for a free junior admission with a paying adult and we did the experience without the lab. The lab woukd have costed an extra $ 5 per person and they give out unlimited free ice cream samples so it wasn’t necessary. We paid a total of $ 20 for the 4 of us.(2 adults, free junior and the baby was free). Expect to spend 2 hours. Well worth it.

There are two ticket options: «The Turkey Hill Experience» and«The Turkey Hill Experience + Tasting Room» This trip is only worthwhile if you have tickets to the Tasting Room. «The Experience» is a large room with various places to read about how ice cream and iced tea are made. But you really go here to visit the tasting room and create your own ice cream. BUYTICKETSAHEADOFTIME! This trip is very disappointing if you do not get in to the tasting room.

It is ok, but the building is a former silk factory, it isn’t and wasn’t an ice cream plant. We were more interested in seeing the process up close and personal, as one does at the Utz Potato chip factory in fairly nearby Hanover. There are several displays depicting how the family built Turkey Hill with alot of hard work. Contrary to what a certain politician said not that long ago, yes«They did build that» One does get to sample many of their products, including ones perhaps not carried by one’s local distributor. For example, the vanilla bottled iced coffee was very good, and I don’t recall seeing it around home.

The Turkey Hill experience is aimed at families with children they have two options one is to go inside experience the history of Turkey Hill ice cream tasting and tea tasting The other is everything I listed along with it’s taste lab which you get to make your own ice cream and take it home with you. The experience starts on the second floor where you walk in and see a milk truck alongside a cow that you can milk not a real cow a mechanical one then the tea room and the ice cream theater. First stop at the sample station for unlimited free ice cream and tea samples. There was only five samples of ice cream but many more options of tea. As you move along you’ll see the homogenization ball pit which is great for kids and then the pasteurization tunnel where the lights change color to show the changes in temperature during the pasteurization process. If you get to hot from all the walking around and heat outside you can step inside there freezer… not a real one its just a model that blasts cold air. After passing through it there’s a section to create your own commercial and you can share it to your email. Don’t forget to stop by the photo section where you can take a picture of your face with the body of Philadelphia baseball player or a picture inside a tub of ice cream. Gift shop is conveniently located as you enter and leave. It’ll sure get you on the way out it’s so strategically placed that there’s no way you’re not going to stop and buy something. You have to walk through it to leave. yup they got me for 60 bucks on the way out. Kudos for them and their marketing strategies. Would have been better if had a factory tour option of seeing ice cream being made in the process all up close and personal with an option of purchasing a tub right of the line of ice cream you saw being made. I would totally pay to see that.

If you are a cold dessert fan or like to visit food factories or want to bring the family to unique places in Pennsylvania, you will enjoy The Turkey Hill Experience. We arrived early today ~10:30 am and very glad that we did. Within an hour, the building was filled with lots of visitors large and small. The staff members were courteous, polite and offer suggestions for tastings. The experience is definitely aimed at families, and there are plenty of photo/selfie taking opportunities at each exhibit. Very young children are able to get in for free, and the kids will like the experience. Once we went inside, the staff described the tour choices. Two options are offered: 1st one includes station visits/exhibits including historical tour of company, how ice cream is made, sampling ice cream and teas & lemonades, that costs ~$ 10.00, and the 2nd option includes the 1st option plus creating your own ice cream flavors(taste lab) and bringing them home for later consumption, costing ~$ 15.00. As staff mentioned, the tour will take about an hour or an hour and a half. Three hours for this tour may be too much IMO. I skipped the drink samples(up to 20 types of teas & lemonades) station and went for the ice cream. The ice cream cup samples are large, I mean LARGE. I started to feel guilty because they give you a new styrofoam cup for each sample given. I think I tried 5 or 6 flavors. So, ice cream became today’s breakfast. Today, they offered 8 to 12 sample choices(I don’t remember the exact number) from fruity flavors like black cherry and peach to fun flavors like Graham slam and Party cake. The Graham slam was my favorite. The tour was informative and interactive. I wish they provided cone options with the ice cream/cold desserts, instead of styrofoam. You may argue that the $ 10/$ 15 dollar entrance fee may be a little high for what you get, and I’m very surprised that they don’t offer to sell ice cream on the premises to take home. I would recommend going later in the day or earlier if you want to have ice cream for breakfast ;-).

What a fun idea! It’s like«Crayola World» but for Turkey Hill. For about $ 10 you get to tour the exhibits and taste unlimited samples of lemonade & iced teas, plus ice cream For $ 15 ish — you get to create a small container of ice cream and design the package. My 10 year old can’t wait to do this. Note: They do NOT sell ice cream to take home — except the stuff you«make/mix» yourself. Fun — and they have a 10% AAA discount.

Perfect for kids of all ages. Great learning experience for them as well since, they can also create their own flavor. Also, you can spend all the time you want having ice cream samples while, the kids are going around and exploring the facility.

This place was a lot of fun! It’s $ 10 per person, which includes unlimited ice cream(and they give you a whole scoop which is what you would normally pay for when you go get ice cream to begin with!). I had all the flavors which had some good mixes, including the cotton candy, dutch chocolate, moose tracks, party cake, chocolate chip cookie dough, whoopie pie, etcc! I liked the party cake mix the best! You also get to sample their unlimited iced tea-I liked the mocha mix the best! The lemonade was good as well. Besides that, you can go milk some mechanical cows(hehe), make a commercial and design your own ice cream carton… fun activities like that!
