Every year we visit the Columbus Convention Center and Bar Louie is our favorite place! We stop in Tuesday night and when we come back on Wednesday everyone remembers our name and beer! The food is amazing! Try the voodoo chicken!

Kyle is the best! Called in from California just to get a receipt for my boss and he took time just to find a receipt for $ 23. I can only imagine the service that I’d get if I was actually there. I highly recommend this place just for their amazing service I got over the phone. Next time I’m in Columbus, I’ll definitely be stopping by! Thanks for all the help!

At first, I was going to try Forno happy hour. But by the time I get off work and find a parking spot in Short North, happy hour is over already. I wish their happy hour is longer. Next on the list is Bar Louie. They are quite fill up on Friday night. They also have happy hour through out the weekday. Their drink is pretty good for a novice like me. They have a decent list of half price appetizers and I decide to get the calamari. The portion is quite big compare to normal appetizers’ size. And that is the same to their entrée, super ginormous. 3 pieces of giant fish nuggets with fries fill my tummy in no time.

I was just at the Easton bar Louie and this will be the second time when I’ve waited a long period of time for something and it’s the same bartender at that! The first time I got my food and never once got a refill. I ate my food and had to ask a server to refill our waters because she spent all of her time with two guest. Tonight I came in ordered a beer and asked for a menu and I waited over ten minutes for her to ask what I need to eat and she never did. So I got up and left! I’m pissed

I really want to love Bar Louie because of its prime location close to Nationwide arena and all of the other bars on Park Street, but I haven’t had the greatest experiences there. I will say that they have a fun DJ on the weekends which was surprising to me at first because I always thought of it more as a restaurant, but it definitely gives the place a more fun, young vibe. As for the drinks though, every single one I have had there is STRONG(which I know some people think is a good thing) but I think it totally ruins the enjoyment of the drink. For example, they have a long list of martinis, and of the few I have tried, they all taste like they are 75% cheap liquor. I will give them points for a good beer selection though. I personally am not a beer drinker but my friends have enjoyed choosing different brews on our various visits there. As for the food, I think they definitely have more expertise there than they do with drinks. During a happy hour or a regular day for dinner, the food is good, not great, but it is worth paying $ 10-$ 12 for in my opinion. As for the Tuesday $ 1 burger nights, it is pure chaos. I once waited what felt like forever to get my food, and another time they brought my burger out within literally 3 minutes of me ordering. You can’t even cook a burger that fast! That scared me a little bit because I felt like that meant they just had a pile of burgers sitting there waiting to be used… but it was still a burger so I obviously ate it anyway! This is if you can even get a seat for burger night, which is hard to do sometimes. The employees there work tirelessly to get people in and out quickly, but there is often still a wait. Overall though I think that if you’re in the area, it is worth checking out every once in a while. PS they have a great patio for summertime drinks!

Waited 10 minutes at the bar(not busy at all) and was never greeted or approached. After I showed a sign of frustration toward the bartender he threw an attitude at me claimed he didn’t see me even though he walked by twice. Then he went over to his coworkers and had a talk about the situation. The other female bartender came over and didn’t understand my frustration and said«oh well, you can’t please everyone». Horrible service!

The first time I ordered food at Bar Louie I was pleasantly surprised. It’s solid bar food, and the menu is fun. I especially like that they throw in limited time seasonal specials. I love the soft pretzels with queso, honey mustard and cinnamon butter. The nachos are humongous and some of the best in my opinion. I must say I was not a fan of the calamari though. I recently ordered the Luigi sandwich, and added pepper jack to it. So good. I’ve always had really attentive service here– whether sitting at the bar or chilling on the patio. I order to go and take it back to my office sometimes, and have had no issues with the timeliness or quality of the order. Keep it up guys!

I’ve definitely had a better experience at the Bar Louie down here on Park St. than I did with the one in Cleveland. For one, the service I’ve experienced has been much better for the most part, and two, it’s a much more lively atmosphere. The patio here is one of the best selling points. Even if you aren’t a huge fan of Bar Louie or the Arena District, the back patio is huge and looks out over Park St. and North Market and has a nice fire pit to warm up around in the Fall. As far as the food goes, it’s still not my favorite, but I’d rank it around an average 3 star rating. I had the nachos this past time, and I wasn’t really impressed. It’s great bar food, but if you’re looking for a great meal, you’ll probably want to pass. The burgers are decent, and their $ 1 burger night on Tuesdays is pretty hard to beat. They also have a really long happy hour during the week, stretching from 4 – 9 pm, Monday through Friday. If you’re not going for happy hour, the drinks here can be a bit pricey. They have a large selection of draft beers, but I’ve never found many of the craft beers here to be too daring. The prime focus of Bar Louie is to have fun on a night out with friends. It’s usually pretty packed on the weekends around the bar, especially in the Winter time once the outdoor area isn’t being used, but they do have a second bar upstairs. I’ve grown to like Bar Louie more than the other bars around Park St, and if you’re young and looking to have fun in Columbus, this is one of the places you’ll want to hit up.

Bad Louie was our spot for dinner the other night simply because it was in our general area AND it was $ 1 burger night. There’s not much more that can warm the DH’s heart like a ‘good deal’. Let’s knock out the preliminaries. Large space, about the décor you’d expect from a casual burger/bar joint in the arena district. Good size patio, large wrap around bar. The booths were a bit… sticky…could use a good power wash IMO. Service to start was fast and friendly. We got drinks and apps taken care of within minutes. The ‘loaded’ fries looked like someone’s leftovers. They were not loaded with anything nor were there very many of them. By the time our waitress came back our hungry crew had devoured them so it was a moot point. Our group for the most part built from the $ 1 burger menu. When one of our party wanted to order his burger medium rare, we were told all burgers must be well done. Um, ok? Not my preference but at that point we are committed and ordered away. Our food arrived again fairly quickly. The burgers were ok. No amount of toppings can disguise the taste/texture of a well done(tough, bland-sorry well done lovers out there) burger. Service, while pretty brisk initially, was non existent after the food was delivered. I don’t need my hand held or to be hovered over, but at one point we just assumed that our servers shift had ended. It took even longer to get the check, pay and leave. I’m sure after a few(ok, a lot) of drinks this is the spot to hit for some late night munchies, when I am not feeling so particular about quality and service.

Bar Louis is a solid option if you fall in one of these categories: — You are between the age of 21 — 69(I can’t speak of underage crowd) — You live in the area, either arena or short north or just happen to be in the area — You’re a fan of affordable attractively priced happy hour — You’re not too picky on spot on service — it can be hit and miss, understandably — You’re a fan of Patio time. — You like good looking waitresses with big smiles or no smiles(honey, I understand if you had a long bad day… I really do) — You like burgers(did I mention $ 1 burgers on Tuesdays??) — You like cheap drinks from 4 to 9 every weekday($ 3 drafts, $ 4 wines, $ 5 martinis) — You can tolerate the frequent douchery that comes with Arena and Park St crowd… I mean come on. Ha. One of best nightlife spots on Park St and the Arena. Good location to start the night with friends. Props to Louie!

This place is pretty deep. You have 2 big areas for drinking and eating. It also goes further in for a medium sized dance floor. The first area is just near the entrance and has many tables to chose from. This is great if you are looking for a more mellow hangout experience. The inside bar is more like a sport bar deal with TV screens above. This is more of an area you go to so you can escape the heat that is building up on the dance floor. The music is pretty good. There is also a cover to get in.

Chicken tortilla soup is amazing… Flatbreads are good, and the peach moonshine BBQ sauce is amazing… Our server was new but she was great. One server there a blond girl was very rude and would give our group of 10 dirty looks… Maybe she was jealous because we stayed there so long and she wasn’t our server… tipped our server 40% and requested she give 10% of it to the blond girl to put towards working on a new attitude. Bartender was helpful in giving us samples of beer… great place to hang out on the patio!

Great patio! Prices here are a bit steep considering it’s just bar food, but the half price appetizers for happy hour are decent. The rest of the happy hour is just okay, with drafts between $ 3.25 and $ 4.25 depending on what size you order. I would be interested in coming back for $ 1 burger night on Tuesdays, as the reviews for that are pretty positive and I love a good deal! For what you’d spend, just have your meal at the North Market next door and come here for a drink on the patio!

The $ 1 burgers on Tuesdays are such a great deal! To get this price you have to also buy a drink, and extra toppings and sauces besides lettuce are 25 – 75 cents each, but you can still easily create a delicious burger for under $ 3. They don’t skimp on the size or quality either! I’d recommend getting here early though because it can get pretty busy on these nights. Besides that, the food overall is decent, the happy hour features $ 3.50 draft beers, and there are plenty of TVs around if you want to come to watch a game. I always have a fun time when I come here!

I’ve only been here during lunchtime at work so I can’t speak to the nightlife, happy hour prices or drinks. I can say they do a serviceable lunch and on nice summer days the patio seating is at a premium. Be sure to get a table with an umbrella so when the sun moves everyone can have some shade. Take advantage of the limited addition menu items. They tend to be variations of regular items with a different protein to maximize items that are already available in the kitchen.

In spite of the less than stellar reviews, this is probably one of the more convenient locations to stop for a drink while shopping in the main part of Easton mall. I found the service to be quite wonderful actually, the server really went the extra mile to make sure we were satisfied, including running after us when we forgot the box of leftovers. The trouble here is that drinks were weak, and at $ 10/ea, I found that quite steep for the amount of alcohol. The food was just ok, not bad but not great. I would go back but preferably when someone else is picking up the tab.

Average. Nice bar scene with mostly young(working) people. Nice open fire on the patio and enough space on the inside. The menu is what you can expect: pubfood of average quality. Notting fancy, not bad. The only thing we really do not like(on both occasions) is the service. Last May it was difficult to get any attention but that evening it was packed(I believe a Thursday night) and there was a nice singer/gitarist on the patio. This Tuesday it was busy, but not packed and it took(we’ve counted) more than 15 passing waitresses(there were 2 – 3 waitresses on the patio) to notice us after we drew the attention by waving. They passed us(empty handed!) without asking what we would like. 15 times! Not good. Insides it didn’t get better. During the evening we had 5 waitresses on our table asking if the… fill in the blanks… was for us. Even when we already paid and were ready to leave. Seems like the’re is just chaos and no systems. So nice scene, average food, bad service. All together a 3 star experience. And please excuse any grammar and spelling mistakes. English is not my first language. And if that’s not bad enough, Apple keeps changing the English words into ‘proper Dutch’. Yes, you guess right, my first language.

Perhaps a little too conveniently located near my apartment, I find myself going back to Bar Louie frequently. It’s more for their happy hour specials and their active bar scene than for anything else. Their Happy Hour lasts from 4 – 9 pm Monday through Friday. $ 3.25 draft beers and also discounted mixed drinks. They also offer half-priced appetizers and flatbreads. So far i’ve only had their chicken quesadilla and it’s pretty good. They also have $ 1 burgers on Tuesdays, which is another great deal. It sounds like service can be hit or miss depending on the day, but i’ve had attentive servers and bartenders during my visits. It gets pretty busy during the weekends, so I can see how service can become an issue. Overall, it’s a great place for happy hour and also a good place to start off your weekend night. The bar attracts a pretty diverse, but mostly young professional crowd. The fact that the waitstaff is easy on the eyes also helps. I’ll be back.
