Apropos is an excellent spot to do some studying in the day. I actually have not eaten much food there(except I ‘ve had their soft serve!). I normally get tea or coffee and they’ve a fine assortment of tea and great java. I enjoy the setting, the place and the free net! It is a pleasant spot to hang out.

The coffee here is so affordable and the atmosphere is pretty chill. Its patio is decently large and its got food and a bar to boot! Nice place to study late at night since it’s sort of a more local place, but difficult to find seating sometimes. If you do try to study here, try to go when the sun is still up or if there’s natural lighting coming in through the windows. The venue sort of keeps the lighting more on the dimmer side after the sun sets and while they’re open later than other coffeeshops, if you’re reading a book vs. doing work on a laptop, I found it pretty difficult to read from my textbook. The staff is really welcoming and if you’re looking for a place to find some good wine, this is the place for you as well. It’s like everything you might want in one place.

Came on a Sunday night, lovely atmosphere with yummy coffee options. I tried the Milky Way latte and loved it. It has mostly 2 person tables that look like they can be pushed together easily enough, as well as a fully stocked bar to sit at. Cozy, friendly décor, like beer steins and fairy lights. Our barista was friendly and made small talk with us.

First and foremost, let’s get to the cute little connected wine shop. No corkage fee, selection aplenty, and you can take home any wine you don’t drink on-site. Helllooo, awesome! And the wine bottles are all really affordable. Caffè Apropos has a real chill, kick back vibe. They dub themselves a European Espresso Bar. I’ve had their caffeine(yum), their eine(also yum), frappes(uh, double yum!), and their food(meh). Everything but the food has been delicious. The food, though, I recommend passing on. You don’t go to Caffè Apropos for the food. In all fairness, the hummus plate was really good. But the Vegetarian Bavarian panini? Nah. Just don’t. Stick to the salads, hummus or … desserts! Those desserts are decadent, rich and worth every calorie that’s sure to go straight to the hips. I go here a lot for a cozy little environmental. I’m so glad it’s in my ‘hood, and that I don’t have to hang out in a Starbucks!

I came in once a few weeks ago with a group of friends and the TV was on Comedy Central. There was some satire show(I hope) on that involved men dressing up and attending a KKK rally which wasn’t cool but the TV was muted so all customers saw was the KKK without any explanation. It’s very uncomfortable to look up and see this on TV and to see the man behind the counter watching and laughing. There is a time a place and I don’t think a coffee shop is the place, regardless of it being satire.

My favorite place to get away from campus and study. I like the vibe because it’s a unique mix between a coffee shop, bar, and wine shop. My go to drink is the depth charge(espresso mixed with coffee). If I’m looking for something sweeter I’ll get the raspberry truffle latte. I haven’t tried the food but my friend got a sandwich and it looked really tasty.

Delightful. It’s a place I can sit and write, drink after delicious drink. They’ve got Gosling’s ginger beer and comfy booths, so I’m in here many a Sunday morning.

It’s a quiet place to do some work and sip on some hot beverage. If not in the mood for coffee or espresso, you can also order a smoothie. They also have desserts from Pattycake Bakery. It has several local magazines to browse. They also have food but not always the ingredients to make certain things.

Such a great local coffee shop! I stopped in to meet a friend and was surprised to discover they serve beer as well. They actually have a wide selection. I got the Buckeye Mocha and loved it. It came in a fancy glass, loaded with whipped cream and yummy peanut butter syrup. I also got a cookie from Pattycake Bakery which was divine. I’m happy so many coffee shops carry those baked goods. The atmosphere was really chill and they played some good music. The barista was really nice too.

Delightful, independent coffee bar in the heart of Harrison West. I’m new to the neighborhood, and this place has intrigued me the several times I’ve driven by. So I stopped in on Christmas Eve and savored the quirky-homey atmosphere along with a bagel and Americano. In addition to typical coffeehouse fare, they also offer a respectable selection of wines and beers – including numerous local choices. I could easily see this being a regular stop for«javahhh” – and more!

The spouse and I come to Caffe Appropos for their food, and it’s a shame more folks don’t — it’s great! They serve breakfast sandwiches(including a PB&J panini with bananas called the Elvis«Press“ley), paninis and subs, salads and have a great hummus plate. Of course, they’re a coffee shop, but also serve beer and wine, AND they have a beer & wine shop, too. There is definitely a neighborhood feel… maybe too much so… as there were people hanging out with empty cups from the time we arrived to after we’d left(cheap bastards). ANYWAY. We were there for dinner and drinks. I had the Vegetarian Bavarian panini, which was great and didn’t fall apart — i.e., they took the time to drain the artichoke and roasted red peppers — lovely! The spouse had a Picasso(turkey). Since they have access to various beers, there is plenty to choose from. The atmosphere is very chill, and the staff are reserved but friendly. Definitely worth making the short trip off the beaten path for Appropos.

This café is all about customer interaction. They are always glad to explain and suggest. The intimate, yet friendly, feeling radiates. Close tables. Café/bakery style counter-ordering. Great fit for any crowd! Anton and Chavi are phenomenal owners. Personable to the nines! Their second and last Friday wine tastings always draw in a great crowd. Great for groups, or just stop by, if you have the evening free. Besides the fantastic vibes, this spot serves one of my favorite liquids, Gosling Ginger Beer!

Our most pretentiously named coffeehouse sits off 3rd in Harrison West. Doubling as a wine bar, and a decent sandwich haunt, it appeals to South camp students, young pros at work, and time wasters, as well as locals sniffing Bordeaux of Merlots after work. I dig the space, as it is not the sleek, minimalistic emptiness like newer joints. Its inside is stuffed with tables, a three seat bar, a comfy sofa cove, and notably, diner like booths with plenty of outlets. It is a darken, warm space that is optimal for reading or great conversation. They play good, artistic music at the perfect volume. Outside are patios following 3rd and Michigan Avenues. I am not impress, though, by their caps and lattes. Café mocha here misses the target and seems too bubbly and not mix well. The expresso does not express itself explicitly as it should, and seems stuck in the middle of the drinks. Their colder concoction is even more uninspired. I am in no jeans the judge if what is or isn’t ‘European Style.’ Yet to my recollection, this did not seem like the European Caps I’ve had on the Eastern coast. The wine selection is diverse, and competitively priced. They have many types of reds and whites, from brute to sweet, from domestics to imports, from supermarket value brands to higher level vintages. Some nice looking labels to explore. They showcase bottles to serve; not sure if what the opening fee is. It is a gorgeous environment to hang out and work, get a bite to eat, or have wine(they have beer here too.) the coffee is doable but not great. It’s a hang out.

Still a great place to have coffee, buy a bottle of wine, go to happy hour, even buy coffee beans to take home. I live in the Apropos neighborhood and appreciate having this great little wine shop within walking distance.

After going here very often, I feel I have to write a review. Probably one of my favorite coffee shops to go to, partly because I live very close by. The coffee is good. Not amazing. Not bad, but good. I think if you want really good coffee, go to One Line or Staufs. But what really makes this place is the atmosphere. There is outdoor seating which is great on those warm summer or spring days. On the inside there are plenty of windows to allow for good lighting. There is background music playing at the perfect volume. The bar is also a nice touch here. And they have a happy hour until 8 if you are in the mood. I’ve never had a problem with the service. Just a great place to go read at night or on the weekend. Wifi functions very well. Coffee=3 stars. Atmosphere/indoor outdoor seating = 5 stars. Final=4 stars.

Do you work remotely and need a one stop shop for eating, working, and meeting? This is probably one of the best shops in Columbus for remote workers. Their coffee is sub-par, but their food is really good. I work here about 2 – 3 days a week on average and can stay here all day without worrying about missing meals. They have good food, coffee that does the job, a bar, 7⁄10 wifi(good enough), happy hour specials, and a community of other remote workers. Also TONS of outlets and seating options. I like having the option to have a standing work station at their bar top height window table. The music played inside can sometimes be too loud to take client calls with, so I usually step outside but not a huge deal. Like I said, if you are looking for a good spot to work from that isn’t your home office… This is a good option.

I came here for a second time. The food was still delicious… but I find it weird they don’t advertise their food menu. And then the cashier explained to us they don’t have a kitchen or prep area. Just a panini press… However I was disappointed with the service. We waited for some time, which I don’t mind. Especially because they had live music. But when the server came out with our food… she slammed it down on the table. Said in a rude tone. sorry for your wait and ran away. We just looked at each other speechless. Sorry for inconveniencing you by ordering food.

Came here with a friend on a Saturday evening for some drinks and found Caffe Apropos in the neighborhood. There were a few desserts in the display case and a wine shop in the back. You can also order coffee and sodas as well as bar drinks. I got the Washington Hills Riesling — which was amazing! I’ve never had such a sweet and tasty Riesling before. My friend ordered a Moscow Ginger Beer which was pretty delicious and refreshing. We sat and chatted for about an hour and a half. The environment was pretty quite which allowed us to converse. I just wish there was a bit more lighting at the tables, but other than that, I have no complaints!

Excellent study/work coffee spot. Biggest downside is that it’s so good at being an excellent study/work coffee spot that it’s often very crowded. It can also get a little warm.

Maybe it’s just because there were so many people using it, but this WiFi was not great. I am not a coffee drinker, so this review is no reflection on their coffee. I was looking for a spot to kill some time and catch up on work. I was barely able to connect to my work server to get things done. I’m sorry to have my review come down to that, but as someone who travels for work, that’s what matters: is it a place where I can get work done? The best part was the Motown funky soundtrack playing. I believe it was a SiriusXM channel. Good pick! It was loud enough to enjoy but in the background enough that it wasn’t distracting.

One of my favorite study spots in Columbus! Great coffee, free wifi, tons of outlets, and ridiculously comfortable booths. There’s only 4 sets of booths though, so you might have to stake them out when it gets super crowded on weekend afternoons. They have nice alternative background music and the noise level is usually pretty reasonable too(nothing headphones can’t drown out). My favorite coffee drink there is the hazelnut mocha satin, although I find its preparation varies greatly depending on who’s making it… I have yet to try their Friday wine tasting but it sounds like a good deal! Will come check it out one of these days :)

This is my new study spot. It’s quiet, has good coffee and free wifi. What more could you want? Lots of space, small tables, high tops and booths. I had no problem finding an outlet. There were lots of other people studying and some people there enjoying a weekend coffee and brunch. But it was quiet enough to study. I did not eat anything here, the menu was quite small. But I did see other peoples sandwiches, which looked pretty good. There was also a case filled with pastries and desserts which looked delicious. I plan to try one next time I’m there.

I hear coffee shop and my ears perk. How wonderful is it to live walking distance to a coffee shop! In my 24 years of existence this has never happened to me. So, naturally, Apropos became a very appealing study/hangout spot for me. Quirky and«its-grandma’s-house!» are what comes to mind when I try to describe this place. It’s dark, cluttered, has a distinct smell, with mediocre food and drinks, and yet there is so much character to it. In the spirit of clutter, I would like to make a long cluttered list of why I come to apropos: — open late and free wifi makes this a good study location — + happy hour specials of beer on tap(just 3 dollars/pint!!!) makes it ideal. Happy hour is M-F 4 – 8 and there are daily specials on beer/food combos — tons of tables and chairs and outlets — ya like standing? there are high tables. ya like booths? ya like small dinky tables? ya like couch? there’s a table for everyone of all shapes and sizes — you can buy an entire bottle of wine and they will give you glasses to imbibe at the current location — you can come here and pretend to study while staring at the tv in the back broadcasting the OSU vs Michigan state game — their woman’s bathroom didn’t lock well(but let me clarify, perhaps not a perk) — outdoor seating for the beautiful fall days — have yet to try their wine tasting, but I’m reluctant to give up by Geagle(that is, Giant Eagle) — music selection is random, but that’s good because I hate hearing a song I know Apropos, we’ve spent many late nights with you and I don’t think I’m in love, but I think you’re pretty convenient so I keep coming back. Keep it up.

I’ve tried to like this place many times but I just can’t. Every single time I went there over the past 2 years, the service has been absolutely terrible. You’re just bothering them by just going and ordering a drink. Food choices are mediocre, the place is pretty uncomfortable. No later than today, someone drunk was taking pictures of everyone at the caffé, I complained to the employee there and he said that the person drunk, taking pictures even if I told him I did not want him to, was an employee here. What a great example of attitude. Just don’t go, there’s many more places in Columbus that deserve your business.

Apropos is what I wish every coffee shop could be. Chill music, quiet atmosphere, good coffee, great wine and beer, and friendly service. My boyfriend loves to complain about how we never come here, especially for happy hour. I guess I don’t really think of Apropos as a bar, but that’s because it’s so much more. I’ve enjoyed their iced coffee and Italian sodas(I’m not much of a coffee drinker though), but my favorite thing to do here is pick out a bottle of wine from their cute little market and split it on the patio. As a student, I enjoy studying here, as the ambiance is very conducive to the dozen-or-so people always there staring at their books and laptops. They have a great beer selection too, as well as some pre-made sandwiches and desserts. The pumpkin square I tried today was quite the treat.
